Things Done Changed

 In the Marriot Hotel in downtown Philadelphia, U.S. Attorney Tony Richardson sat alone in the dark-

It had been three months since their seperation...A Highly embarrassing affair in which  an embarrassing zip drive had been sent to his wife which showed him having sex with a clerk from his office.

He protested that the video had been made by A.I. and that this was part of a plan to extort influence from him... Partially true.  (It wasn't A.I. but it was a plot to extort money and influence from him.) His wife didn't believe it or him....She tearfully asked for a divorce.  He had indeed had sex with the young clerk, but had no idea he was being videotaped.

A possible Divorce would be quick but messy.. His Attorney told him he'd most likely lose the house, one of his two cars and a considerable amount of cash...His supervisors suggested he change locations to escape the public scrutiny he was under...So he returned to his second home...Philadelphia.

They hadn't even worked out custody of his kids yet...

He thought of Karla...Karla Williams...

She had once clerked for him....Now she was a U.S. Attorney herself in the area....He hadn't seen her in four years...He wondered what she was doing.. He had enjoyed her body immensely one New Years Eve night long ago....The last he heard...She had a boyfriend...Another lawyer...A local Assistant District Attorney...

Then there was Jazmine Coley.."Jazzy"....A hot little young Assistant District Attorney who had designs on going into private practice...She was quite a treat in bed..

And then there was Honey Brown Sugar, Kayla...Kayla Bennett, another young attorney he had met..

They nearly did it in a dark parking lot one night,

"Hello Jazmine, Kayla...I had no idea you two uh knew each other...It's been awhile." said Tony Richardson.. 

"Hi Tony....Oh yes...Kayla and I have known each other since 9th Grade at Girls High...We went to Temple University Together and Law School at the University of Penn and now , we both live across the street from each other  a few blocks from here."said Jazzy... "This is my HUSBAND, Dabnis Coley, he's an attorney too!" said Jazzy...."Dabnis this is U.S. Attorney, Tony Richardson of D.C." she said.
 

"Pleased to meet you." said Dabnis..

"And this is my husband, Ray St. Jacques...We met when we both worked at a law firm in Atlanta...got reacquainted when we both relocated back to Philly and eventually we got married." said Kayla.

"Pleased to meet you." said Ray....

"Well I see no grass has grown under you girls feet...Married huh? and Homeowners....No more Apartment complexes or Condos... Nice meeting you and your husbands." he said as he walked towards the bar...a little disappointed that both of the women he was thinking about hooking up with had since gotten married and were homeowners...

"I remember him, when he briefly worked here in Philly." said Jessica.

"Yeah, I remember him too! " said her husband, Chip , who bitterly blamed him for he and Jazzy's break up.Jessica didn't know about that. This was of course, before they had met.

"I remember him... He was very flirtatious and just as married as he could be."laughed Karen Page.

Her husband B.L. found nothing funny about the man or his reputation.

"Don't you just hate those types?" laughed Natalie..

Her husband, David said nothing...He had lost a number of girls to guys like Tony Richardson. Always so self assured.

"I know right ? I met him in D.C. when I was working there....and you're right Karen, he was flirtatious. Very Flirtatious . He tried to get me up to his hotel room several times, but I wouldn't go."said Brooke, smiling.

"Just not flirtatious enough."laughed her husband, Sean.

"I met him through Olivia...She and Yvette both were working a case for him a few years back." said Zoey.

"I vaguely remember that." said Lem.

"I met him in D.C.  when I was still a student...He gave me a few good pointers when I was in law school.." said Renee.

"I'll bet he would have liked to have given you another point." said her husband, Tyrell, laughing wryly...

"Oh Hush up, you're so nasty." laughed Renee.

Attorney Nina Rios heard their exchange  and laughed.

So did her boyfriend, Carlos....

"Olivia Bennett-Alexander and Yvette Jones....Well hello, I see you guys and your teams are still

together..." he said. 

"Well Hello Tony, How are you? How Long has it been?" said Olivia.

 

"Heyyyyy man, how are you doing?" said Donnie Ray.

"I'm doing okay...Nice to see you all again." said Tony.

"Hi Tony." said Beverly.

"Hey guy." said Nelson.

"Hello Mr. Richardson." said Josie.

"Hello." said Paris.

"Ms. Josie, I heard you passed the bar and are a full Attorney with Olivia now. Congrats are in order and I see you are married too! Double congrats and who is this, a new attorney?" he said, practically salivating over Bresha.,

"Yes , this is our newest addition, Mrs. Bresha Billips.....I lectured at Middleton Law School in Bayside for awhile and she was my prize student...After she graduated and passed the bar...She was our intern for about a year and then she came to work for us full time." said Olivia ,proudly..

"Lecturing at Law school...Olivia, you are just full of surprises girl and how are you little miss?" he said ,leering at Bresha's breasts....

"I'm fine, Pleased to meet you and this is my husband,  Tony Billips...We met in law school...." said Bresha.

"Pleased to meet you."said Tony.

"Damn, everybody is married." thought Tony to himself.

"And you've met my mother and our office manager, Mrs. Alfreda Cambridge."said Beverly.."And her husband, Assistant District Attorney, Rockland Cambridge..

"Yesssss I rermember your mother..a beautiful lady....and like the rest of you, she's married too!" he said.

"Yes.Happily!" she said, hugging Rockland..

who laughed sheepishly...

"And Vettie!  Vettie Girrrrl, You still got that boyfriend who works in the D.A.'s Office?" he asked laughing.. Hoping she didn't...He'd always wanted to get her in the sack...

 "Nope!  I got me a husband who works in the D.A.'s Office...." said Yvette, showing off her wedding band..

"I gave her a new name, Yvette Jones-Lockwood" said Gary, staring Tony Richardson in the face.He had just walked over to the table with drinks...He sat down and put his arms around her waist, hugging her...

He stared at Keith, Bee Bee, Sofia and Kahlil...He remembered the four of them were hooked up the last time he had seen them...He peered at the girl's fingers...They had on matching wedding bands...They had gotten married...No surprise there.

"Hello Mr. Richardson.."said Keith.

"Hello Mr. Richardson." said Beatrice..

"Hello Mr. Richardson." said Sofia.

"Hello Mr. Richardson." said Kahlil...

"Hello Mr. Richardson."said Jade, who was also sporting a wedding ring...

Her husband, Lt. Danny Ho of Robbery-Homicide, who he didn't know sat with his arms around her.

"I don't believe I've ever made your acquaintance." he said to Virginia, who he was admiring lustfully.

"I'm Yvette's Office Manager and Consultant.. Mrs.Virginia Shaw-Dukes." she said.,

He saw her wedding band and the matching one on Judge Jetty Dukes, who he did know.

They were married and this was his wife.. 

He did know Judge Jetty Dukes...He smiled.

"JETTY? You ole hound dog....You finally settled down huh? This is your wife?/ Wowww, you got yourself a fine one.." he said, laughing..

"Tony Rich.....Yeah, she made an honest man outta me."laughed Jetty... "So how many kids you got now?  How's the wife..." he asked.

"I have three kids, One Boy and two girls....Uh Me and Juanita have split up....We are seperated!!....I'm staying in  my suite at The Marriot until I can find a place to stay." he said sadly...

Josie's was jumping tonight..

Kayla, who he learned tonight was Olivia and Beverly's cousin, her husband, Ray,Jessica and her husband, Chip,Karen Page and her husband, B.L. ,and the cute little former intern he once counseled in D.C., Renee Cantrell and her husband, Tyrell who he did not know.

 That included Yvette and her entire team and Beverly's mother Alfreda, and her husband, Rockland..

 

This was entirely too many people living on the same block of the same street.

A few blocks in the other direction on the same street lie the other six...

Zoey Easter, who he had met once a few years ago....and her husband, who he did not know,Attorney Lem Anderson.

Brooke Kennedy-Marks....the cute little white girl he tried mightily to come up to his hotel room in Bethesda after a conference once and her husband, 

and her husband, Sean, who like him was a U.S. Attorney , who was the lucky guy who bagged Brooke.

It had been six years and in this time...a lot of the women he knew had gotten married and were now homeowners....

What's more, they all lived in this tight community together...He had to move on...

Early Monday Morning....about 6:30 am...The doorbell rang to U.S. Attorney Karla Williams's apartment..

"I'm back in town...Business....I heard you got promoted to U.S. Attorney...Congratulations!!!...Got your own office and staff now huh? Wowwww!" he said smiling... "Moved to this fly ass apartment.." he said..

"Uh Huh, but you could have stopped by my office tomorrow to discuss that...It's 6:30 in the morning...I was still in bed...and I'm off today..." said Karla..

''Excuse me....Let me put something on...Move your foot." she demanded... He did and she closed the door. She put on a romper and re-opened the door..

"Great!!!....I'm not pressed for anything today!!!We can spend the day together...perhaps in bed..." he said, smiling, staring at her...His trousers beginning to stick out like a circus tent..

He remembered when she worked for him her soft butter kisses...

"I'm going to tell you why that's not going to happen...In addition to getting a promotion, an office and staff of my own and this new apartment, something else has changed...I got a man." she said..

 ''A Man eh? You're seeing somebody..." he said..

''Why do you seem surprised?" asked Karla.

"Oh I'm not...You took off those horn rimmed glasses and I see you let your hair down..." Tony mused...

Just then, Assistant District Attorney Miles Ellis walked up behind her....He had spent the night...She was glad he didn't see her in her panties and bra talking to Tony.

"Gooooooood Mornnning gorgeous..." he said..He had just woke up and threw on some jeans and a t-shirt...He was off today too!

"Good Morning Bae!" said Karla...

"I know you...I've read about you in the Newspapers." said Miles... "It's kind of early boss man to be paying my girl a visit..isn't it?" said Miles...still smiling, but deadly serious!

Tony Richardson was furious at this guy for daring to question him...He ignored his question altogether..

''Well Congratulations on the promotion Karla...I always knew you were headed to big things..." he said and walked away...

"Next time congratulate her at a decent hour boss man...." said Miles Ellis..

Tony Richardson bristled at being chastised by this man...He knew right away that he didn't like him...

Miles laughed...He knew exactly why Tony Richardson had come over here this early...He thought he was going to have an early morning booty call....Not with his Karla he wasn't...He knew all about Tony Richardson and his ladies man rep...A lot of attorneys knew...Karla had also told him about her history with Tony Richardson...His groping and kissing her the entire time she worked for him...Their quickie in his office and then their New Years Eve Tryst two years ago...She said she was done with him and she had been...She hadn't seen or heard from him in nearly two years...When she knew he was in Philadelphia...She made herself scarce!

A Few Days later Tony Richardson was in the Bridge Building attending to some business.. On a break he walked down the hallway...

and it looked like Kayla was her second in command, Senior Associate Attorney.....

It looked like Zoey, her husband and Renee Cantrell also worked with her....

Nice, Black Attorneys sticking together, giving each other jobs....He loved it!

"Oh wow...They live together and they work together..." he mused.

He walked down the hall and peeked into the window of The Wrongful Conviction Conviction Integrity Unit.

He saw Karen Page heading a meeting with her staff... sexy ass Natalie, who he had just met, Brooke, who he had been enamored with in D.C. and Natalie's husband, David...

Brooke's husband, Sean Marks, a U.S. Attorney like himself was also present... He often worked with them on certain cases he had heard.

Down the hallway....Jessica  Sanchez Burrows and her husband, Charles "Chip" Burrows  headed the INNOCENCE PROJECT!

He smiled.. He couldn't believe so many gorgeous women worked on the same floor...

He walked just a floor down and saw some of their husbands...

In a large conference room...He saw the husbands of these women... Jazzy's husband, Dabnis, Kayla's husband, Ray, Bresha's husband, Tony, Josie's husband, Paris and Renee Cantrell's husband, Tyrell, lawyers all and just a stone throw from their wives...

 Black Attorneys sticking together, giving each other jobs....He loved it!

Things Done Changed , he mused.....They were all married..happily married and working in the same building with their husbands....Different law firms, but the same building..

He wondered how long this arrangement had been going on?

He knew Yvette was in this building...He took the elevator to her suite...Like the others , he was impressed...

He laughed and flirted with Jetty's wife, Virginia, who he wished he had met before....He found her very sexy...Very Attractive!

He sat in Yvette's conference room with her and her staff..

"Vettie, this building is incredible... When I left here ,it was just opening up and none of you guys were here...I see your whole neighborhood is here..."laughed Tony...

"We all wound up here by accident, not design...but we all love it here...This building has a cafeteria that's like a 5 star restaurant...A Gym and a Spa upstairs and is very accommodating to it's residents." said Yvette..

She poured him some Ice Tea and Ice tea for her staff...

He looked at voluptuous and beautiful Bee Bee and Sofia , surrounded by their ever vigilant husbands, Keith and Kahlil. 

He looked at sexy Jade, who like Yvette didn't have a husband present, but were definitely in love with their husbands and had no plans to step outside of their marriages.

God! Jade was hot ,he thought....

After an interesting day at the Bridge Building...

Tony walked out of the building a little disappointed , but happy his friends and acquaintances appeared to be happy and thriving..

 

He stopped at a food truck....He smelled a familiar fragrance...

"KARLA?   " he said... "KARLA???" he said again...
