THE OFFICE OF JACK COLLINS-

Jack Collins sat in his office with an operative, looking at dossiers on us on his laptop....

"These are the attorneys who were representing Warren Hutchinson....They did a damn good job from what I observed....Take this envelope....It's a cash retainer... This is where they are ...Take this to them, tell them to represent Warren Hutchinson..They know him...They liked him...They'll do it." said Jack Collins.

The young lady took the envelope without saying a word and left the office..

She traveled to the Bridge Building......

She took the elevator to Yvette's floor.

She looked around the suite...

"Can I help you?" asked Virginia.

"Good Morning....Could I see Ms. Yvette Jones-Lockwood and Associates please.?" asked the young woman...

"You're in luck...They're all in the conference room. Follow me." said Virginia.

Virginia led the young woman into the conference room...

"Yvette,  guys, this young lady would like to talk to you...Uh I didn't get your name.." said Virginia.

"I didn't give my name to you... Mrs. Jones -Lockwood... My employer wants to hire you..You and your four associates.."said the young woman who passed Yvette an envelope ,full of money...a lot of money.

"Consider that a retainer.. My employer would like you to represent Mr. Warren Hutchinson, who is presently in the Men's Correctional Center...charged with two counts of first degree murder." she said.

 

 Yvette looked at all of the cash..

"Okay...but I thought he already had a lawyer." she said.

"He did...but he was fired. My employer wants you guys..." said the woman.

"Of course this employer doesn't have a name you care to share with us right?" I said.

"Of course not, or she would have told us by now and told us her name." said Bee Bee.,

"But money is money..If that's a retainer,.,.I suppose we will represent Warren...We liked him, didn't we?" said Sofia.

"Yeah, he was good people."said Kahlil.

Jade was quiet..She observed the young lady carefully.

"You guys are very intelligent and receptive....Warren will be in good hands.Thank You!" said the young woman.

Virginia just watched her...Saying no more.

"Well thank you for your time...Good Luck in court." she said and walked out of our suite...

"Well guys....I think we've got a job." said Ms. Yvette ,looking at us.

II-

The Parking Lot was crowded this morning at the Men's Correctional Facility.....

We saw Brooke's car.... Brooke, Natalie and David ,our building mates from Wrongful Conviction-Conviction Integrity were in the parking lot...They saw us.

"Yvette, Keith, Bee Bee, Sofia, Kahlil, Jade....Fancy meeting you guys here....You got a case too huh?"said Brooke with a smile.

"Yup...We aren't the only ones.....Hi guys." said Natalie.

"Hey everybody."said David.

We all piled out of Jade's Pathfinder...

 

 "Well Hello, fancy meeting you all here." said Yvette with a smile.

"Hi Brooke, Hi Natalie, Hi David." I said.

"Hi Brooke, Hi Natalie, Hi David. I knew one day we'd run into you guys here." said Brooke.

"Maybe if we leave the same time...We can go somewhere and have a meal." said Sofia.

"Wow....hard to believe that at one time we were adversaries...And now look at us." said Kahlil..

"That's because Brooke and I are no longer putting people away....Like you, we are getting people out." joked Natalie..

"That's a good thing." said Jade, smiling.

"Always a good thing." said Brooke.

The nine of us headed inside....

Bull Bailey was intrigued by all of the attorneys present this morning...

 Naturally he was always excited when he saw Brooke..Brooke gave him an erection almost on sight..

He loved her...despite the fact that she now despised him.

..but Ms. Yvette had caught his attention too... He ogled her breasts, her hips, her legs and her entrancing fragrance..  He knew she was married to Gary Lockwood, once one of his detectives...What a lucky man Lockwood was, he thought..

Neither woman gave him a second thought as we were all processed and let in.

Warren Hutchinson was already sitting in the visitor's room when we arrived....

"I'm glad to see you guys... Lt. Tragg didn't allow me a phone call and some slickster in a shiny suit named Teddy Weisman showed up to defend me... Never heard of him...He did such a bang up job, I'm in the clink...I guess he contacted you guys huh?" he said.

"No, we never heard from him....Your lady friend contacted us and gave us a cash retainer."said Ms. Yvette.

"Lady Friend? What Lady Friend??  I didn't send any lady friend to see you guys and I uh certainly haven't sent any cash yet...I don't operate like that..." said Warren...We believed him. 

 "Well somebody with some long green reached out to us to represent you....I suspect that same person or entity hired a high priced lawyer like Teddy Weisman.

first and when he failed to get you released on arraignment..He was fired and replaced by us...Know anybody that would have that much interest in you?" asked Ms. Yvette.

"Uh No...I can't say that I do." said Warren Hutchinson.

"Well whoever it is...They paid a generous retainer...Which lets you off the hook  and voila, You got us as your attorneys again." I said.

"We did right by you before...We'll do right by you again." said Bee Bee.

"We are going to do all we can to get you out of here...We know you didn't kill your wife or that snake Jesperson." said Sofia.

"We studied your case before we got here...We have the Autopsy reports , The Crime Scene Photos and Preliminary Investigative reports."said Kahlil.

"Here is what we know... The police have the murder weapon dropped on the floor ,which is your gun, legally purchased by you...There are no prints or DNA whatsoever on the gun.....The back door was jimmied...and there is a size ten footprint on the patio.....You're a size eleven...and neither your wife or Jessperson is a size ten, So Somebody else was in your house." said Jade.

"I wouldn't have had to of jimmied the door.. I had the keys...all of the keys to the house still...I wasn't living there, but I still had the keys..." said Warren.

"The Alarms were off because your wife had turned them off when she and Jesperson arrived.

The killer knew your wife's routine pretty well.Think Warren...This killer had to be someone close to you...Someone who'd at least been to your home.. They seemed to know the layout."said Ms. Yvette.

"That could have been any number of people...We entertained a lot. And this Attorney, Teddy Weisman....He seemed to know a lot about me...I swear, I never saw him before in my life." said Warren.

"He's a High priced Defense Attorney...He's specialized over the years in defending corrupt Judges, corrupt politicians, entertainers who find themselves in trouble and the like...but like we say...He doesn't come cheap."said Sofia.

"Again, Long Green paid for his services and apparently they weren't satisfied with the initial results." I said.

"To tell you the truth...With the crime you're accused of..Murdering your socialite wife and theHedge Fund Manager she was caught in the nude with....We wouldn't have been able to get bail for you either.." said Yvette. 

"Your crime is too high profile....Any Judge that would have released you in this election year ,when so many of them are up for re-election or retention would have been tarred and feathered in the press and the court of public opinion." said my wife Bee Bee.

"My Father was good friends with your founding partner...Bill McCluskey...When I asked for his services ,he told me that you five were his best attorneys and he showed me your almost flawless

win record over the past years....You five are just as good if not better than this Teddy Weisman...Had I been allowed to make my phone call, it is you guys...I would have called. After all....despite what happened...You guys kept my company from being gobbled up and liquadated and your other two colleagues were about to keep my wife's greedy little hands off of ny more of my fortune than she was entitled to..I was quite pleased being represented by you guys." said Warren Hutchinson.

"Thanks for the vote of confidence,." said Kahlil.

"Which brings us to today.. Do not talk to anybody and I mean anybody about your case. in here, No Guards, No other inmates....Nobody.....There are inmates in here hoping to make a deal of any kind...So if you are asked about your case...You dummy up.." said Yvette.

"You're the boss Ms. Yvette." said Warren Hutchinson.

We all had a good meeting with our client and we left...

We found a nice local restaurant near the prison to have dinner in. 

 "Olivia told me about this restaurant...She said they were visiting a client late and they stopped here to eat once." said Yvette.

"It's cool..the food is good here and it's better than driving home hungry." I thought.. It was way after dinner time in our building and all of our friends were on their way home by now.

Bee Bee leaned her head on my shoulders as her platter arrived.  She was tired.

Sofia leaned her head on Kahlil's shoulder too...She was tired...She kicked her heels off...

Kahlil eagerly awaited his food.

So did Jade.

It was good comfort food. 

 We were joined by Natalie, Brooke and David.

"This was a good idea Yvette, us having dinner here." said Natalie.

"Yeah, it's close and  It's way after dinner time in our building and all of our friends are on their way home by now....I'm hungry..."said Brooke.

"Me too! and well ,this is as good a place to eat as ever." said David.

From a distance, Bull Bailey was having his dinner too!  He saw all of us eating together.

Nightfall...

It had been quite a day... We were all in a celebratory mode...

We were all at home...

Bee Bee was wearing another sheer see through Baby doll.....She had just taken a hot shower and walked into our bedroom..

My eyes popped out of my head..

She giggled..

"Oh my goddd..look at you...Are you going to act like this all the time?..WOW!!! That boner is massive." she said and put her hands over her mouth..

"You act like this is the first time you've seen me like this." she said.

"Elaine...I'm worried that someone may be trying to set me up."said Judge Peterson.

'"How do you mean?" asked Attorney Elaine Young.

"I've been assigned to this case...The Warren Hutchinson Double Murder trial." she said.

"Oh Wow!  That's major...They are talking about that in all the newspapers."said Elaine.

"The original attorney, Teddy Weisman was suddenly let go..probably because I refused his client bail and wouldn't release him....Huctchinson's new attorneys are Yvette Jones- Lockwood and her kids, Keith and Bee Bee Jones, Sofia Garcia Ahmed and her husband, Kahlil Ahmed.

 

"They are my friends...I have socialized  with them. For that reason, I recused myself from this trial and any other time that would have been enough...That would have been unchallenged.  Yesterday I got a call from the top....They said that we are backed up with cases and they couldn't find  another judge for this case... That's a lie.  Our Noisy neighbor Kelly Ann just got back from Alabama after two weeks...They could have easily assigned her to the case....So I'm on this case...You know what that means right?" said Charlotte.

"Money? And I mean Long Green is being passed around in certain circles.Anybody give you any money yet?" joked Elaine.

"That's not funny Laney."said Charlotte, smiling.

While at our building ,in our conference room....

Yvette was discussing her doubts.

 

 "Something is amiss here...A Talented Attorney, Mr. Weisman is suddenly fired....The next day a woman comes here with a cash retainer and hires us...She never tells us her name or who she's delivering this cash for... Then Judge Charlotte Peterson, our friend, rightfully recuses herself from this case because she is our friend...and now I hear she has been ordered back on the case because the courts are backed up and they don't have enough judges.." said Ms. Yvette.

"That's crazy...Judge Kelly Ann, Julie Wong, Michael King...They're all available...I've looked at the court records when I've been down to the courthouse." I said.

"Look at my baby....Sounding like a Lawyer..."joked Bee Bee.

Sofia laughed... "But he does make a point." she said.

"Long Green...Long Green.... Somebody is throwing a lot of money around...They got us and they got the Judge they want. Somebody wants our client freed." said Kahlil.

"But for what reason?" said Jade.

"Yes...Exactly."said Ms. Yvette.

"Normally you say follow the money." said Virginia...."But we don't know from which direction the money is coming or where it's going." she said.

And in an office downtown....

Jack Collins smiled.
