Lt. Tragg walked in...He noticed he was looking at our records and photos.

''With this weak case? Are you serious?" asked Ken Jendell.

"What do you mean?" asked Lt. Tragg.

"HOW DID YOU GET TO BE A DETECTIVE? LOOK AT THIS....So why would this girl shoot somebody to death....Then take her clothes off, fold them neatly, then lay down on the couch with the gun still in her hands?  And lay around and wait for you to arrive?  And who called you and told you shots were fired?? That scenario makes no sense to anyone looking at it..Except you and whoever set this up. GO BACK TO THE CRIME SCENE!! GO OVER IT AGAIN!! LOOK FOR SOMETHING, ANYTHING....I AM NOT GOING TO MAKE A FOOL OUT OF MYSELF IN FRONT OF OLIVIA BENNETT ALEXANDER AND BEVERLY WEST!" barked ADA Ken Jendell.

Lt. Tragg stormed out of his office as red as a beat...He didn't like this guy Jendell....He was finding that he didn't like a lot of the Assistant District Attorneys...

Deputy District Attorney Lester Burke spoke to Lt. Tragg as he passed him in the hallway..

"Good Morning Artie." he said.

"ARGGGGH WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT IT?" snarled Lt. Tragg....

"He's angry because he has some work to do for a change." said ADA Jendell.

"Oh!" laughed DDA Lester Burke..

We showed Jean the photos and the evidence we got from Nick Turner's apartment..
She was astounded..

I told her about last night-

I was back in Ciros Bar last night.....enough of the hipsters were convinced that I was not a cop...but savy enough to know that I had once been one....(Most cops...even detectives don't wear $1000.00 dollar suits and stylish Italian leather shoes...)

I found people willing to talk about Nicky Turner... How he was a womanizer and a gambler who owed a lot of money to certain people...How lately he seemed flush...

Nobody put him with Walt Simonson, but I knew there was a connection.

I checked his financials...He recently got a big payout of 100k wired into his account... He paid off all of his gambling debts..Then he got another large payout of $200k to his account... Half of that paid for his fancy apartment, right above Simonson's.... The money came from a dummy account Simonson had in, You guessed it...The Caymen Islands...

I went through his apartment and found nothing except a piece of paper with the location of a safe deposit box.

We went to his Safe Deposit Box- We found Photos and Negatives

"Photos.... Lurid Photos....He was Blackmailing whoever this is in these photos..This is bad...."said Olivia.

"Who is this man?  He must be somebody important.. And who are these women in these photos?" asked Beverly.

 

"Okay...I could see them wanting him dead....but what does this have to do with Nicky Turner and Jean Wallace?" I asked.

"This is why we decided to show all of this to you Jean."said Beverly.

"Nicky Turner knew something...I think he was playing both sides..I think he took these photos!.Do you know the people in these photos?"asked Nelson.

"We think..He took these photos for Simonson....and then maybe...just maybe, the subject of these photos was on to him and Simonson and used him to set Simonson up...A Double Cross." I said.

''With Turner and Simonson dead...We can't prove any of it though." said Olivia.

"Can you fill in the blank spaces Jean?."asked Josie.

"We sure hope so." said Bresha.

''Who is this man? Do you know him?" asked Olivia.

I stared at Jean..

"I know this man...This is Alfred Swearington...

A Litigation Attorney and at one time a rival for partner at our firm...Walt Simonson hated him, but pretended to like him....He pretended to like Walt Simonson too....I guess you could call them frenemies"said Jean.

"These women in these photos are the WIVES of some of our partners...It looks like Mr. Simonson was blackmailing him....If this information, these photos got out...All hell would be breaking loose...but I never saw him with Nicky....I don't get the connection." said Jean.

"I think there had to be...after all, We found the information that lead us to the safe deposit box in his apartment. "I said.

"He roofied your drink, he took you to the apartment and he ,Nicky Turner probably killed Walt Simonson and set you up and then took that Safe Deposit Box information for himself."said Olivia.

"He probably went to make a deal for himself and whoever had enough and killed him." said Nelson.

"I don't know him personally but from what I've seen ,Alfred Swearington is as ruthless as they come..

He buddied up with those women's husbands...and wound up sleeping with them...Uggggghhh!"said Jean.

"Something I imagine he wouldn't want getting out." said Beverly.

"Oh no...the shockwaves around the office would collapse everything."said Jean.

"You being the Office Administrative Assistant must have made you privy to a lot."said Josie.

"Not THIS....OH WOWWWWWWW! I didn't even suspect!" said Jean.

"But Mr. Swearington knew about you and Mr. Simonson didn't he?" asked Bresha.

"He uh knew about Simonson's attempts to get in my panties and about him pressuring me and that I planned to meet him at Ciros that night." said Jean.

"We've got to subpoena Mr. Swearington." said Nelson.

"Okay, let's go!" said Olivia.

Alfred Swearington walked into the hallway...He smiled upon seeing us...

"Olivia Bennett-Alexander...At last we meet. I've heard a lot about you.....Unfortunately...if you've come to give me a court summons...you're late " he said and motioned towards the door of his office.

Assistant District Attorney Ken Jendell walked out, flanked by Lt. Tragg and Sgt Brice..

"Sorry Olivia, We got to him first...He's our witness now!" said ADA Jendell..

Lt. Tragg said nothing...He was surprisingly quiet and contrite...

as was Sgt. Brice..

''Wow, they beat us to him....I didn't even know he was on their radar."said Olivia.

"Yeah me neither." I said.

"Looks Like Lt. Tragg actually did some recanvassing, real detective work." said Nelson.

"Yeah Imagine that!" said Beverly...

"Wow....that's a first.."said Josie.

"What do we do now?" asked Bresha.

"They don't know what we know or have the information we have.....We have a few days....We go back to work...."said Olivia.
