THE OFFICE OF ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY CURTIS LODER-

Assistant District Attorney Curtis Loader looked at dossiers on all of us.. He had heard of us, but had never been up against us before.. He too was a graduate of PENN LAW...A pretty decent attorney...

He was going to be prosecuting Attorney Scott Holmes for Murder....

He liked going up against fellow Penn Law School graduates like himself...

Like the last time, a year ago when he had tried a case of Lt. Tragg's...He had practically begged Lt. Tragg to recanvas, to re-investigate, but as of today...He hadn't.

And at our building.,

We hadn't seen Scott Holmes in person within a week.

Bee Bee and I and Sofia and Kahlil  stopped by his apartment a week ago on different days and had given him a Portal in which to keep up with the progress of his case and a burner phone for his communications....Warning him that his phones may be tapped...and telling him to disable his phone and it's GPS.

We  saw another woman over his apartment.....Bee Bee and Sofia knew her...Her name was Portia Wendell. She was an attractive young Black female attorney at a rival firm that they had worked cases with in the past.

This was the second woman he'd had over here since he'd been slapped by Brenda last week.. He had clearly moved on.

and at Ms. Yvette's favorite coffee shoppe..

"I was like a drug addict Vettie...The sex was sooo good, I just couldn't let it go...When he ripped my panties off of me despite my protests....It was like my eyes were opened.....I slapped him hard and I left in anger..  I waited.. "This is going to be an interesting night." mused Dabnis.

"Hey Portia girl, how are you doing?  This is our Thursday night hang out."said Kayla.

"Long time no see."said Ray who once worked with her also.

"Hola!" said Jessica, who also knew Portia.

"Hmmmmmmmm, she looks like a good friend to know."laughed Chip.

"I know right?" laughed Ray.

"I gotta hand it to Scott...No grass grows under his feet."laughed Karen.

"It sure doesn't."laughed B.L.

"Hiiiiii Natalie, Hiii Brooke." said Portia.

"Heyyyyy girl, how's it going?" said Natalie. "This is my husband, David." said Natalie.

"Oh you got married?...Congratulations." said Portia , hugging her.

Her husband, David  smiled. "How are you?" he said.

"Hi Portia...and you know my husband, Sean...don't you?" said Brooke.

"Hi Portia."said Sean.

"Yes, we've met..." said Portia.

"This is going to be an interesting night." said Zoey.

"It certainly is."mused Lem.

"Hiiiiii Nay Nay." said Portia.

"Hey Girl."laughed Renee..."Portia, this is my husband, Tyrell..."said Renee.

"Hi, how are you doing?" said Tyrell.

"Looks like all of my girls went and got married." said Portia.

"I remember you helping me when I was studying for the bar....You dropped by Olivia and Beverly's place" said Lee..

"Yes I remember....and I see you've passed the bar and snagged a husband.  Congratulations!" said Portia, hugging Lee.

"Small World ,isn't it?."said Matthew..

"You two are just too cute!" said Nina.

"They are still in their Honeymoon phase."said Nina's husband, Carlos.

Shrimp Baskets and Chicken Baskets were passed out to everybody.

Brenda Jordan was there too....She had recently got reacquainted with Millionaire /Attorney Warren Lloyd. They walked in and took a seat at the second table with Olivia and her crew...

"Hi Olivia, Donnie Ray and Company... You remember my friend, Warren don't you?" said Brenda.

"Of course they remember me...How are you all doing?" said Warren. 

"Of course we do, Hi Warren...Long time no see....Have a seat." said Olivia.

 

"More drinks are coming. Hi Warren."said Donnie Ray...

Portia was still working the room.

"Hiiiiiii Beverly, Hi Nelson, Josie and Bree." she said.

"Portia girl, it has been awhile hasn't it?" said Beverly, hugging her.

"Hey Girl." said Nelson.

"Hi Portia." said Josie.

"You guys know everybody."said Paris.

"When you've been a lawyer and worked enough cases long enough , you'll run across a number of people too!" said Bresha.

"Spoken like a real pro.."laughed her husband, Tony...

"I know right?" laughed Alfreda.

"Well what she said is after all, true."laughed Rockland.

 

 

Brenda and Warren ordered drinks and sat in between Olivia's table and Yvette's table.

 Yvette was happy to see Brenda with a man her age, a mature man.

Gary laughed at the whole thing... "This is gonna be an interesting night."he laughed.

"Bee Bee, Sofia and husbands...how are you guys."said Portia.

"Seems like we just ran into you."I said.

"Oh stop it!  Hi Portia.."said Bee Bee.

"Hi Portia." said Sofia.

"Hi Portia." said Kahlil.

"Hello."said Jade.

we had worked a case with her before.

Danny just smiled.

Virginia smiled too!

Jetty just shook his head..."This is gonna be an interesting night."he laughed.

Scott and Portia got themselves a seat at a private table not far from where we all were sitting.

He glanced over at  Brenda and Warren...They seemed to be getting along just famously and not looking his way at all.

On the other side of the bar...Lt. Tragg and Judge Kelly Ann were making out..

"AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.....OHHHHHHHHHHHH KELLY ANN!" he moaned.

"Thank you....I bought it in Bayside...Where we are all going today after Brunch."said Portia.

"You'll have a good time..We go Shopping...We have dinner out there and then we go Roller skating."said David.

"Do you Skate?" asked Brooke.

"Yes, I Roller Skate and I Ice Skate."said Portia.

"I do a little Roller Skating...it's been awhile though." said Scott.

"You'll be alright." said Sean.

"Plus there will be plenty of beer " said Zoey. "Oh and good news Scott, your divorce is final..Monday I'll have the papers ready for you to sign.   Sheila already signed hers."said Zoey.

"That's good...I'm free to make this young lady an honest woman soon." said Scott,

"Oh hush up" said Portia, blushing.

"GREAT IDEA!"laughed Lem.

"Hold him to that! We all heard him Portia."joked Renee..

Her husband, Tyrell laughed loudly.

"I heard it.."said Lee.

Her husband, Matthew laughed....

"I heard it too."laughed Nina.

"They got you man." said Carlos..

Across Town at Sam Mother's Diner.. Brenda and Warren were having breakfast and coffee...

"Ohhhhh this is soooo nice, us waking up and going to Breakfast this morning...Just the two of us." said Brenda.

"Yes....Last night was wonderful too!" said Warren.

At the table next to them an interesting conversation was going on.

"Look they've got me over a barrell, They know everything...about the money trail, my connection to Austin , the whole magilla.  They're defending that kid accused of his murder...They've subpoenaed me. They know I was his handler." said Ronald Oswald.

"How did they find out? Who are they?" said the other man talking to him..

"They're this kid, Scott Holmes...His defense attorneys....They have a real good P.I. who put the whole thing together. Austin with me...possibly the both of us with you...but they've subpoenaed me...I have to testify in court."said Ronald Oswald.

"No...No court...Damn that... Here is some money, 25 large to hold you over... Meet me tonight and I'll have two airline tickets for you for wherever you want to go....Without you, They've got no connection to me and my folks that they can prove..." said the man.

''Alright...I'll pack and meet you tonight at your place." said Ronald Oswald.

Brenda heard the entire conversation. She looked in her purse,.

"Oh Damn, I left my phone back at the apartment." she said.

"Well we are going back after breakfast.." said Warren, rubbing her legs softly..

"Can I use your phone? I've got to call Vettie."said Brenda.
