The client, Tray looked at Beverly...

Beverly gave him the side eye...

"Don't even go there Tray...We got you acquitted....Thought I was gonna say we got you off didn't you? And besides...Although I am flattered...My boyfriend wouldn't like that." she said.

 Beverly really was flattered..She had told her Aunt that she thought Tray was cute when they took the case...

He smiled..

"I figured you'd have a boyfriend....Well...I had to try..."He said laughing...

"So what are you going to do now?" asked Beverly...

"Right now..I'm gonna go have a beer..A Cold beer.." he said.

"That sounds good.."she said.

He kissed her on the cheek...

"Thanks again..To the both of you." he said and walked off...

"Well, I don't know about you...but I could use a cold one right now myself." said Olivia..

"You probably need one ,both of you...I imagine you're both are all steamed up after all that kissin." she said laughing..

"I'm sure you and Nelson will make up for lost time tonight." I said.

''Speaking of which...There he is.."said Olivia as Attorney Nelson East...Beverly's boyfriend walked up and pulled Beverly to him...Kissing her passionately..

Just then ,Josie Boyd...Our office manager joined us...

"Heyyyy Josie...Sit down, join us...There is enough room." we all said..

She sat down with us...

"Congratulations on winning your case....While you were in court...You had a visitor today..."said Josie..

"A client?" asked Olivia..

"No...A relative! She says she hasn't seen you guys in years...." said Josie..

"A relative?  Who ?" asked Beverly...

"I'll let her tell you herself ." and at that, Josie signaled a pretty brown skinned girl with a suitcase and an overnight bag, who walked over to our table...

"Cousin Liv???....Cousin Bev???" she said...

Both Olivia and Beverly's eyes grew as wide as saucers...Then big smiles appeared on their faces...

"KAYLA?" said Olivia...

"KAYLA?" said Beverly...

Both women screamed and grabbed the woman and hugged her and kissed her....

Beverly looked at me..

''Donnie Ray, this is  our cousin...Kayla Bennett...She's an Attorney also..She lives in Atlanta...Kayla..go kiss your big Uncle..Donnie Ray.." said Beverly...

The two lived in different neighborhoods and attended different elementary and middle schools..but wound up going to the same high school ...Girls High...Where they became inseperable..

"These two were the tyrannical twins Donnie Ray...They were something else.....So what brings you to Philly? I heard you were doing big things in the ATL.." said Olivia..

"I'm uh on vacation...Just taking a little leave of absence...that's all...I was wondering could I crash with you all for a few days?" she asked..

"You gotta ask? Of course you can girl..... I have a second bedroom on my floor in our duplex...Auntay's old room...You can crash in there...Auntay and Donnie Ray live above us..."said Beverly...

"No...He works for another law firm...but he, Beverly and I all used to work together in the Public Defender's office." said Olivia.. "My husband is our firm's investigator...Used to be a homicide detective."she said.

''Several of the P.I.'s my firm hires are ex- Atlanta P.D." she said.

I ordered another round of beers for the six of us...

"Wow...Josies is just like I remember it....God...I miss Philly so much.." she said.

IV-

As the night went on....Meek Rollins, the producer and manager walked over to our booth....

"Ladies...Ladies..Ladies..Ladies.....How are all of you pretty ladies doing?" he laughed...

Olivia,Beverly ,Josie and Kayla just smiled...

"Hi Meek" said Olivia,Beverly and Josie...

Meek looked at me....

"Donnie Ray, my man...Can I have a word...Excuse us ladies...and gent....I'll return him shortly..." he said..

I walked him over to the other side of the bar...

He looked at me and smiled..

"I know your wife and your niece and Josie who works for you...who was the third dime piece.?" asked Meek...

"Oh that is Kayla...My wife and Bev's cousin...She's also an attorney..She's visiting from Atlanta.." I said.

"Damn does that family have anything but good lookin women who just happen to be lawyers?" he said..

We both laughed....

"So Donnie Ray my man...I got a proposition for you....Brooke Taylor? The Guitarists and Vocalist....Heard of her?" he asked..

"Yeah man..Yeah!" I said.

"She's heard of you too...Heard you play in New Orleans...years ago and heard that you live and play in Philly now...She's going to be in town from San-Francisco...I'm going to be recording a few tracks for her new CD....She wants you on those tracks..You and your trumpet..." he said.

"Really? Me?" I said.

"Yeah baby....She likes you...Plus..She can't afford Reed Nelson and Downtown Rob Brown is in London with his band." said Meek Rollins...

"OK...I know you record at night....."I said.

"I'll give you the dates...Your wife hasn't got a case has she?" he asked..

"Nah, we just finished one today...Things may be slow a few days..."I said.

"Cool...I'll call you with the dates..."said Meek who passed me an envelope...."That's an advance." said Meek.

"I like your style man." I said and we both laughed...

Kayla was standing , not too far from us on her cell phone...

"Brian why are you calling me?" she said...She looked upset..

"Because I need you...I haven't heard from you in days.....Baby,All I do is think about you..."

"Brian you're married..What we did was wrong." said Kayla..

"Kayla..I will leave my wife...I'm hooked on you....I got to have it....from you...Nobody makes me feel like you do in the bed.."he protested.

I looked at Nelson....

"Yeah...Looks like I'll just enjoy the sights..." laughed Nelson...
