Hurricane Wedding

We were finishing up breakfast.
 

"Mandy! what is it?" asked Olivia.

"It's my younger brother, Jeffrey...He's in trouble...He's been arrested, charged with murder!!" said Mandy..

"MURDER!!! Jeffrey?? YOUR LITTLE BROTHER?" asked Olivia.

Like her niece, Beverly, He used to come up to school some weekends as a teenager...

"I remember him.."said Beverly...One weekend they were both up there together..  

He was a year or two older than Beverly... That didn't stop him from sneaking away with her...

and the two of them kissing and making out behind one of the buildings....It was a fond memory...

''We've been estranged for years.. He feels as though I disapprove of him....My parents paid for him to go to law school..and he went to PENN, just like you did Beverly...

"I remember seeing him...He tried to romance my cousin , Kayla..Who was my room-mate-

"He was so shocked when he came to our room and saw me there...He used to be sweet on me too,back when we were both in High School and coming to visit you guys.  Well once he realized that we were room-mates and cousins...He never darkened our door again." remembered Beverly,laughing.

"I was over him by then, plus...it's not like we ever had something going." she said.

"That's my baby bro, an emotional coward... He graduated from PENN LAW with honors... My Parents were so proud... He then proceeded to fail the Bar exam three times, three years straight.. Both of my parents are deceased now and he's teaching school...Still not a lawyer...I was devestated... Anyway..he got engaged three years ago just as my marriage was ending. I made no secret that I did not approve of his fiance...She was a flake Olivia..a stone flake.."said Mandy..

"And this is why you two are estranged." I said.

"We haven't spoken in three years." said Mandy.

"Wait!! They've been engaged for three years?" asked Josie.

"Yes..He and his fiance have Champaigne Tastes and a Beer Budget." said Mandy..

Nelson cracked up laughing....."I like that.hahahahahahahahahaha" he said.

"AWWWWWWWWWWW SUKI SUKI NOW...THIS STORY IS GETTING GOOD!" laughed Bresha.

Alfreda laughed and leaned on her shoulder....

"Anyway...They planned a big wedding, a destination wedding a few weeks ago in Jamaica...They invited 125 people, not including the caterer...Guess who was not invited?" asked Mandy..

"HE DIDN'T INVITE YOU? HIS SISTER?" asked Olivia, astounded.

"His only living relative? No he didn't...so what happened next served them both right.

Of the 125 people they invited...Only 25 showed up...That included the preacher and the caterers..so that made 19 guests actually...

The sun went down shortly before the ceremony began and the wind began blowing fiercely...then it began to rain...and I mean rain..

People were evacuating the town....They failed to check the weather warnings..

The Roof of the hall they were having the wedding blew completely off...The entire wedding party was soaked....They had to run for their lives...

Luckily, they all managed to charter a boat and make it to Miami..  They're back in Philly now.. Still unmarried.  His Fiance has left him, called off the wedding and my brother was stuck with the bag.. He paid the caterer and the minister...but apparently he was incensed at the travel agent who sold them on this goofy destination wedding in the first place.."said Mandy..

 At this point , we were all hysterical, laughing our heads off.

"Oh My God!! OH MY GOD!! MANDY...I'M SORRY, I'M SOOOOO SORRY...BUT THIS IS SOOO FUNNY, I CAN'T HELP IT!! I'm SORRY GIRL!"said Olivia, laughing so hard she was shaking..

 

"I can't believe they booked a wedding during hurricane season and in Jamaica of all places." I said.

"Oh My God, The Bridesmaids dresses were ruined.."said Beverly.

"Not to mention the food."said Nelson.

"You would remember the food."laughed his wife, Beverly.

This made Josie howl with laughter even more and slap her thigh...

Bresha was laughing so hard and shaking  that Alfreda had to grab her and hold her...

Alfreda was laughing also,.....but after we had had our laugh...Olivia turned to Mandy..

"Okay....Okay....now that we've all had our laugh...What can we do to help?" asked Olivia, still broken up..

"He's been accused of gunning down the travel agent..  Sylvester Gibbons, who sold him the tour package....My Brother didn't shoot anyone...He doesn't even own a gun.."said Mandy.

"Sly Gibbons, I 've heard of him...He's the shiftiest travel agent around."I said. "I imagine a lot of people wanted to kill him after some of his shady travel deals."I said,.

''Donnie Ray, for someone not born or raised in Philly, you know all of the players and all of the great places to eat...I just don't understand it."laughed Beverly.

"I've been with you two for 11 years, I should know the lay of the land shouldn't I?" I asked.

Olivia smiled. " Yes, I guess you should...Come on guys...let's go see what we can do."said Olivia.

II-

At the Interrogation room known as "the Fishbowl , Lt. Tragg and two other detectives were laughing as loud and as hard as we had been after Jeffrey had told them the story of his disastorous Wedding...

Oh My God!! OH MY GOD!! ...I'M SORRY, I'M SOOOOO SORRY...BUT THIS IS SOOO FUNNY, I CAN'T HELP IT!! I'm SORRY."laughed Lt. Tragg, who was laughing so hard he nearly lost his balance and fell up against the wall.

"YOU GOT MARRIED DURING THE FIRST DAY OF HURRICANE SEASON IN JAMAICA at

the very beginning of hurricane season..AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"laughed the two detectives...

"OLD SLY GIBBONS GOT ANOTHER ONE EH?   I KNEW IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEBODY PLUGGED HIM!" laughed Lt. Tragg.

"But I didn't kill him, I swear...He was dead when I got there...We were supposed to be meeting." said Jeffrey James....

"Jeffrey, you have a law degree...What is the first thing an attorney tells his client?  Dummy Up..Don't say anything...I believe they told you you have the right to remain silent."said Samantha.

"I didn't say anything incriminating."said Jeffrey.

"You just gave them a motive!" said an angry Samantha Addison.

"Assistant District Attorney Samantha Addison, I know you....What are you doing here? What has this got to do with you?" asked Lt. Tragg, who also noticed us entering his "Fishbowl." "And what are THEY doing here?" he asked.

"He's my younger brother...James was my maiden name....I can't defend him, so I brought along Olivia and her team."said Samantha."My GOD!! THIS ROOM SMELLS HORRIBLE!" saidn Samantha. 

"Jeffrey, I'm Olivia Bennett-Alexander and I'm going to be your attorney...

 

This is my husband, Donnie Ray Alexander...He's a former Homicide Detective and my investigator....

"Pleased to meet you son." I said.

"My Niece, who I believe you know, Beverly, my second chair.."said Olivia.

"Beverly!  Oh My God!! How long has it been?" said Jeffrey...

"Hi Jeffrey, it has been a few years....This is my husband, Attorney Nelson East."said Beverly.

"Hi Jeffrey." said Nelson.

"You got married huh Beverly?  I'm not surprised...a pretty girl like you." said Jeffrey.

"These are my additional attorneys ,Josie Boyd and Bresha Billips." said Olivia.

"Hi."said Josie.

"Hello." said Josie.

"Lt. Tragg can we have the room please?" asked Olivia.

"My Smelly Interrogation Room?? Why certainly....Come on boys!" said Lt. Tragg as he and the other two detectives exited, still laughing..

"Jeffrey, don't say anymore to anyone...Not Cops, Not detectives and not any inmates you are locked up with you hear?" said Olivia.

"I won't Ms. Olivia...I promise."said Jeffrey,

 

''Anybody in here is looking to make some kind of deal at your expense..So say nothing about your case except to us here in this room." I said.

"Here is a pen and piece of paper...I need you to write down the names and addresses of anyone who will attest to your good charactor...We need names, email addresses and home addresses and phone numbers." said Beverly.

"Josie, I suppose you ,Bresha and Donnie Ray will look them up and vet them." said Nelson.

"Of course.We're on it." said Josie.

''As soon as we leave here."said Bresha.

"Now you just hang tough and we are going to try to get you arraigned and out of here."said Olivia.

"Okay...and thank you." he said.. He embraced his sister for the first time in three years..

"And thank you too..I didn't know if you were going to help me or tell me to get lost, which I would have deserved." he said.

"We are family..We are all we got."said Samantha, hugging him and crying a little.

It was a touching scene.

We went our seperate ways... Us to prepare for Jeffrey's arraignment...

Josie and Bresha to look up the people on Jeffrey's list...It was only 10 people..

Me to Vet them....

Nelson to contact our Bail Bondsman just in case..

and Olivia and Bev

And Olivia and Beverly to court to get us a Night Court date....

AT THE BRIDGE BUILDING'S CAFETERIA-

Samantha didn't feel like eating at Sam Mother's Diner and running into Bruce.. She didn't have any cases on her docket, so there was little need for her to stop by the office today..She chose to have lunch with Yvette today in her building's cafeteria..

Along with a great meal, she was in for a great surprise.

"Hey Girrrrrl...I'm glad you came by today.... I've got something to talk to you about.....BRUCE GREENE?? YOU SLEPT WITH HIM??? GIRL WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?" laughed Yvette.

"OH MY GOD! YOU FOUND OUT!! HOW DID YOU FIND OUT?" asked Samantha, very embarrassed..

"He was here yesterday." said Bee Bee. 

"HE TOLD US!  HE CAME UP HERE LOOKING FOR YOU YESTERDAY!" said Jazzy.

"WHAT?" said Samantha, both embarrassed and astonished..

"He bragged about "bagging you" See years ago..He tried to hit on Jazzy and me...He had no idea we knew each other.. We both flagged him...Had nothing to do with us knowing each other.. He was bragging that he could've made the two of us holler like he had you hollering..."said Kayla.

"I can't imagine him making any woman holler...but if you say so."laughed Sofia.

"OUUUUUUUUUUUU HE'S GOT THE MATURITY OF A HIGH SCHOOL BOY!! OUUUUUUUU!!" said a now angry Samantha.

"I hate a man like that...A Chatter Box." said Jessica.

"Oh he was quite the chatter box yesterday at lunch...It was as if he were exacting revenge on the women who had rejected him."said Karen.

"I'm so glad I never had any dealings with him." said Natalie.

"And me as well."said Brooke.

"You know he did this before , at our friend's housewarming party..He bragged that he had slept with her and told Jazzy, Kayla and Renee that "It could've been you..."said Zoey. "Kinda immature, but he was drunk."said Zoey in his defense.

"He wasn't drunk yesterday and he especially wanted me to know that it could've been me.. It's as though he 's trying to prove himself to all of the women he felt rejected his advances.."said Renee.

"I wish I had been one of them.. He took me out to Gazspachos..We had a great meal and killed two bottles of wine...Then we smoked a Turbo in his car in the parking lot afterwords..Then of course he drove me to my loft and insisted on coming in for coffee...But of course you know what that meant..

and we uh had relations...I woke up the next morning realizing what I had done and immediately realizing I'd made a big mistake...And being confused as to whether I wanted a relationship with him or not...."said Samantha.

"OUUU GIRL, YOU WERE GOOD AND TOASTED AND HORNY AS WELL...HE HAD YOU WHERE HE WANTED YOU."said Kayla.

"Don't sweat it...We've all had a night like that , that we'd like to forget." said Yvette.

"Lawd Knows I have..." sighed Virginia...

Jade smiled and rubbed her back!

"Not me...and I hope not ever." said Lee Phillips..

They all burst into loud laughter..

"Oh My God...What is wrong with that man?" asked Nina.

"I'll tell you what is going to be wrong with him.. He'd better enjoy the memory of our night together, because he's not going to ever have another one...Not EVER! HE'S A CHILD!!!" said an Angry Samantha.

The Men were having a completely different conversation just a few tables away...

 

"You know, I don't care for Bruce Greene at all, but I got to hand it to him...He's got good tastes in women, Natika Sommers, Serendipity Harper, and now ADA Samantha Addison...WOWZERS! All fine women." said Dabnis.

"Yeah, Ole Boy has a little game about him."said Ray, laughing..

"True, but you don't blabbing to a bunch of women about your conquests...Especially women that know each other..You know they're going to talk and you know it's going to get back to the person he slept with." said Chip.

"Man he did it in front of Serendipity at her house warming party, remember.?" said David.

"Yeah ,I remember.." said Keith Jones..

"Yeah we were all there." said Kahlil.

"Well at Serendipity's housewarming party he was drunk."said Sean.

"He wasn't drunk yesterday when he was here...He was bragging like a High School Boy."said Lem.

''Worse like a Middle School Boy..I give high school boys more credit."said Tyrell.

"He's a little bitch." said Tony.

"Indeed."said Paris.

Matthew took all of this in and laughed heartedly....he was enjoying his second day at work in our building.

Tony rubbed his back and smiled.

"OUUUUUUUUUUU HE'S MADE ME SO MAD!!" said Samantha.

"I'd hate to be him right now." laughed Jetty.

IV-

NIGHTFALL- We were all at home. 

"Well We got all of the charactor witnesses statements and they're all vetted and we got in contact with the bail bondsman." I said to Olivia and I prepared for bed.

"Good... Bev and I got an 8:00 pm appointment for Thursday... We are the first case up."said Olivia.

"Great, we are ready to go." I asked.

"Yes, we are ready to go.."said Olivia.

"Are you ready to uh go?." I asked..

"Yes!"" said Olivia softly.

We began kissing...

"I can see by that huge bulge in your trousers that you certainly are ready to uh go.."she  said.

She wasn't surprised by her bell ringing at Midnight....

''Well, you've certainly been hard to keep up with...You look sensational." said Bruce Greene staring at Samantha.

She was wearing a short black baby doll, She'd just gotten out of the shower and lotioned down...She looked glowingly beautiful..

His trousers were standing out like a circus tent....She noticed it...

"I'm getting ready for bed."said Samantha...

"WHO THE HELL IS THAT?" asked Bruce.

A Man walked over to Samantha...He was dressed in a bathrobe.

"Who is this?" he asked.

"This is my co-worker, Assistant District Attorney Bruce Greene.."said Samantha.

''Well whatever you want with her..It shouldn't involve coming to see her at Midnight.It can wait until tomorrow."said the man, who slammed the door in a shocked Bruce's face.

Bruce Greene stood outside Samantha's loft furious... He kicked the trash can on the corner until it dented... He spun around like a top and he fell to the ground,kicking his feet up in the air...

"WHORE!! WHORRRRRRE!!  " he yelled out! He gets up off of the ground and jumps up and down continuously..

Up in Samantha's loft...Samantha and the man, one of her neighbors laughed out loud!

"I'm going back to my loft now... I think we convinced him to go home." said the man...

"Thank you so much....Now I can sleep peacefully from now on." laughed Samantha...

"Good Night Mandy....Don't hesitate to call if you need my help again." said the man, who hugged Samantha and left her loft...

Samantha laughed heartedly and got in her bed and went to sleep peacefully.
