a bit young for me, but all dime pieces...and all married unfortunately.... Lawd today...I hope I'll be able to keep my cool while trying a case against this team..." he laughed.

"They are all happily married too you know.." added Melvin Ortiz..

This guy is on trial for murder...I hate to try this guy....He seems like a nice guy...No priors, pretty damn smart...Went to Central High,was Valedictorian, Then went to PENN, got a Masters and a J.D. , but couldn't pass the bar, damn...Three times he came up short...and he was the Valedictorian of his class too and can't pass the bar... Damnnnn, that's a real hurt piece. Gets engaged and then chooses hurricane season to get married and gets married or attempts to the day the damn hurrican ebegins....The whole thing was a disaster.."said Eric Issacs...

"I heard they invited 125 people and only 25 people showed up...That included the caterer and the preacher...and as soon as the ceremony started ,it began to rain and the wind began to blow and the wind blew the top off of the hall where he ceremony was being held.. Everybody had to run for cover..

They were lucky to charter a boat to Miami the next day... They all got back to Philly safely, but his fiance canceled the whole idea of getting married, He had to pay the Minister and the Caterer, even for the people who didn't show up and didn't have enough money to pay his last month's rent."said Melvin Ortiz,

"This has to be the most unlucky guy in the world... He understandably blames the travel agent...A Man known for shady deals and for being a type of grifter and in anger kills the man...Damn...I almost feel sorry for the guy....Uh, I understand this guy is your partner's younger brother.."said Eric Issacs.

"You do, do your homework..." said Melvin... "Yeah it is.. Which is why she can't be involved in this case at all and out of loyalty to her...I don't want to be either." said Melvin.

"Point taken....Ahhhhhh by the way....Your partner is uh kinda sporty...She involved with anybody?" asked Eric.

"No!  Why are you interested..?" asked Melvin.

"I could be.." he laughed.. "I like her style, I like the way she walks, I like a lot about her." he said.

"You like women period."laughed Melvin Ortiz.

"Yes Lawd!"laughed Eric Issacs.

AND AT OUR OFFICE/DUPLEX at that very moment.-

In Our Law Library, Josie was running the show today....

Josie had her laptop out and case files in front of her...

''Jeffrey as you'll find out once you become a working attorney, this is the dull boring work attorneys do that you don't see on TV or on the news...The gathering of facts....We research Laws pertaining to this case...all of them... Laws and rulings pertaining to like or simular cases...and predicates.." said Josie

" I see. I'm glad you guys have such faith in me passing the bar this time..I hope I get a chance to take it."said Jeffrey.

"Think positively...We always do...We are going to get you acquitted and then you're going to take and pass the bar."said Bresha.

Beverly smiled.  "I'm doing a little bit of both here, hoping we don't miss anything." she said. She had come in late......

Turning on her laptop...

and studying her case files...

Alfreda and Olivia looked on at them...

"You've got your young ladies trained well Olivia, they are like a well oiled machine."said Alfreda.

''Beverly ,Nelson and I used to do al lof this ourselves for the longest...I'm glad to have Josie and Bree here helping Beverly and me." said Olivia.

Later on Jeffrey joined Nelson in the Media Room...

"I remember in law school what I learned ...about picking jurors with the same education, same class status and if possible, same political beliefs as the client."said Jeffrey James

"That's right if you want a true jury of the client's peers.. Here we study the actual juror pool so that our questions are on point" said Nelson. Nelson had also been helping him study for the bar after our regular working hours.

"Is that ethical, I mean, what you're doing?" asked Jeffrey.

"Perfectly ethical and legal too!"said Nelson with a smile.

"I took their lunch orders." said Alfreda.

"Good...They'll all be good and hungry when they finish up this morning." said Olivia.

''Everybody come get your lunch.." said Alfreda.

"I'm getting here at just the right time." I said as I entered..

There was a big tray with Ham and Swiss cheese sandwiches, wraps and croissants  with Chicken salad, as well as Ice Teas.

"WOWWWWWWW This looks so inviting."said Jeffrey James. 

''Well don't look at it...Dig in...There is more than enough for everybody."said Olivia.

 

"Mmmmmmm thanks." I said, grabbing a sandwich...

"Mmmmmmm everything is delish."said Beverly, who was sitting on Nelson's lap...

Nelson was holding her with one arm and chowing down on a sandwich with the other hand...

"This is sooo good, Thank you Ms. Alfreda and Olivia." said Josie.

"Thank you baby!" said Alfreda, smiling.

"We appreciate each and every one of you and how hard you work on our cases."said Olivia.

"You really know how to lay out a spread Ms. Alfreda." said Bresha.

"Thank you baby!" said Alfreda, smiling.

SAM MOTHER'S DINER-

ADA Samantha Addison  walked into Sam Mother's Diner.. She sat down and waited for a waitress to take her order.

She ordered Eggs

Hash Browns

Sausage

Orange Juice

and Coffee....

ADA Bruce Greene  and ADA Eric Issacs entered the restaurant at the same time... Both spotted Samantha Addison sitting alone as her food arrived.

Samantha did not feel like dealing with Bruce Greene this morning.... She had locked her office door and pulled her shades down at work...

Now here she was..She had briefly met the new ADA, Eric Issacs...She found him quite handsome and smooth...She glared at him and kind of gave him the eye...She really hoped he'd sit with her..

He got the subtle clue and walked over to her table... It was crowded today...

"Hi...Samantha right?  I'm Eric Issacs..I just joined the staff a few months ago..Uh I hope you don't mind me sitting with you.." he said..

He had a deep Baritone voice that got her very aroused.

"I am so relieved you did. You just don't know." she said and smiled. "Sit down." she said,

"This is kind of awkward....Uh You know I'm prosecuting your brother for murder.." he said.

"I know....but I've secured some good attorneys for him.... I can't be involved in this case in any way...and I'm a professional as are you...I know you're just doing your job...I don' t hold it against you." said Samantha.

"Good ,then after this trial...regardless of what happens, Can I take you out, Can I uh hold something against you...?" he asked.

"WOWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! You're very forward....WOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!

And YES !  TEE HEE!." she laughed..

"I just find you very attractive and I have for a long time...I finally got the courage to come and talk to you today....I sure wish it wasn't under these circumstances..." he said.

''I wish it wasn't either!  Let's table your request....And after the trial is over...We'll see....I find you attractive  too!." she said and smiled at him.

Bruce Greene saw them laughing and talking....He was livid...He tossed his suit jacket up in the air and began spinning around like a top...This caused the entire restaurant to begin laughing loudly...

"BRUCE!! GET AHOLD OF YOURSELF....CUT IT OUT!!" yelled Sam Mother.

He immediately stopped..

"I'll take a Burger and a Coffee to go Sam." he said angrilly...

''What is wrong with that guy?"asked Eric Issacs...

"Now there is a question I can't answer.."laughed Samantha...

As His lunch came..

She found him breathtaking... and so easy to talk to...She knew right away that she liked him...She liked him a lot...but there was still the matter that he was going to try and put her brother away for life possibly and she had to keep her distance.

THE OFFICE OF ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY SAMANTHA ADDISON-

"You had lunch with ADA Issacs today huh?" said her partner, ADA Melvin Ortiz.

"WOW! NEWS TRAVELS FAST IN THIS OFFICE!" said Samantha.....

"He likes you you know."said Melvin.

"HE DOES?" she asked excitedly...

''Oh Yeah...I was in his office this morning...He was doing research on Olivia and Beverly and their team and then on your brother...and he mentioned how much he likes you and how he doesn't want to prosecute this case and how he thinks your brother is just an unlucky guy...but still he has a job to do...but he wishes he didn't because he likes you and wants to date you."said Melvin.

"He's already asked me out.."said Samantha.

"He did? Geez he works fast....You know you can't date him until after your brother's trial is over right?" said Melvin.

"I know that...I didn't give him an answer...I just smiled."said Samantha.

"You are cool..Don't let Bruce find out." laughed Melvin....

"He saw us eating together...and he reacted the way he normally does when he sees or hears something he doesn't like...Like a park ape, spinning around like a top, tossing his suit jacket in the air...Everybody in the diner was laughing at him...I was embarrassed for him."said Samantha.

"Mannnnnnn you really put something on him...Do all of your men act like that after a night with you?"joked Melvin Ortiz.

"GET OUT! "said Samantha ,laughing..."JUST GET OUT!" she said, still laughing...

Olivia walked in her office just then...

"Hi Mandy, Hi Melvin...." she said.   "I was in town at the courthouse...I was filing a brief in another case and I thought I'd visit you...Your Brother would like to see you..We are all having dinner tonight at a Steak and Seafood restaurant in our neighborhood...Here is the address...Melvin, you and your wife are invited too!" said Olivia.

"I'm there...I need something to do..."said Samantha.

Bruce Greene was outside her door,listening...He'd heard Olivia's overture.

Tonight!  a Tuesday Night,We all wandered out to our neighborhood Steak and Seafood restaurant for a quiet dinner.

The establishment was a few blocks from us and was owned by our neighborhood benefactors, Chris Thompson and Chess and their partners.. It was a raving success.

Samantha was there, She was reunited with her younger brother, Jeffrey James..

One good thing, perhaps the only good thing about this ordeal...It had ended three years of estrangement and brought them closer together.. 

"Mandy We are sooo glad you came..Hope you packed an overnight bag....We have an extra room in our domicile.. 

 

"We'll try not to make too much noise." I joked.

"Yes I did and thanks for the hospitality.."said Samantha.

"Oh don't mention it...We love company." said Beverly, smiling.

''We do...but with all of our close friends living across the street and down the street from us..We seldom have any."said Nelson.

"I was a frequent guest before I got married and bought a house across the street from them."laughed Josie.

"Yeah, we both spent many nights with Beverly and Nelson ,popping popcorn, watching movies...Sleeping over." said Paris.

"You're still welcome or maybe Nelson and I can spend the night at your house."said Beverly..

''Sure, why not? And Bree, Tony...we have enough bedrooms..You two could come over too!"said Josie.

"Sounds like a plan."laughed Bresha.

"Just too much togetherness.."laughed Tony, who loved living around here, surrounded by all of us as well as working with most of us in the same building.

''Well I enjoy the privacy and quiet of my home, don't you baby?" asked Alfreda.

 "I sure do." said Rockland, laughing.

Melvin Ortiz and his wife Justine were there...

"Heyy Everybody....This is a real nice joint, I love it... " said Melvin.

"We've ordered take out from here..but this is our first time actually eating here...This place is nice."said Justine.

"Vettie, Olivia...I think I'm in serious like..I had lunch with a new fella today."said Samantha. 

 "Oh really?  I hope this guy is sane."laughed Yvette.

"Has he knocked the cobwebs out of your panties yet?" joked Olivia.

"Oh No, Nothing close to that...But we had a nice lunch and he asked me out, After my brother's trial is over.. His name is Eric Issacs..He's the new ADA and he'll be prosecuting my brother's case...I'm not going out with him or anything else until Olivia and Beverly get my off off....but I do like him...He's handsome and such a breath taking guy..."said Samantha.

''Anyone is better than Bruce...I hope this works out for you.. And you're smart to play it cautious..To wait until after trial before committing to anything...Good Luck Girl."said Olivia.

"Yes Good Luck."said Yvette.

"Here comes our food.." said Gary.

"I'm famished...I wanted to eat a little something at work today."said Keith Jones.

"No, it would have spoiled your appetite for this." said Bee Bee.

"Maybe it wouldn't have, these two guys have voracious appetites." laughed Sofia.

Kahlil laughed as hot platters of food arrived.

''Everything smells delicious...I love that we decided to come out tonight" said Jade.

"It's going to start getting dark earlier soon and we won't be doing this." said her husband, Danny...

"Yeah so I'm glad we did it tonight."said Virginia.

"So Am I." said Jetty.

 

"Mmmmmmmmmmmm...'Everything smells delicious...I love that we decided to come out tonight" said Jazzy.
 

"I love this place."said Dabnis.

"So Do I." said Kayla.

"Here comes our food." said Ray...

"I had Steak last time..I'm having Seafood tonight."said Jessica.

"Oh Changing it up huh?" said her husband, Chip.

"This Food is sooo good." said Karen.

"It is." said B.L.

"After we finish up here, We are going to go home and get comfortable and pop some popcorn and snuggle up."said Natalie..

''Who will need popcorn after eating all of this good food?" said her husband, David.

"David's right..we are just going home to cuddle."said Brooke.

"Yeah...it's a great night." said Sean.

"It sure is...a beautiful night."said Zoey.

"Yeah, did you see all of the stars in the sky?" asked her husband, Lem.

Renee leaned back into her husband's arms...They had finished their meal...

"Man, this is good sleeping weather." said Tyrell.

"Makes me want to put on my footie pajamas, but Matthew here won't hear of it..He always wants me half naked in the bed."said Lee.

"It's not like I don't keep you warm..."laughed Matthew.

"I know what Lee means...We don't want to wear Baby Dolls and Negligee's every night...Some nights we just want to be warm."said Nia. 

"We have Central Air to keep us warm."said Carlos..

Everybody laughed..

Bruce Greene walked in just then.... He saw all of us..  He was envious of all of the couples.

He knew everybody, All good attorneys...He knew we all lived on the same street or close by..and we all mostly worked in the same building, minus Olivia ,Beverly and crew and we all hung out at the same Bars and restaurants and Clubs...He himself never ran with a crew, He was always a loner.

He stared at Olivia , talking to Samantha and her brother, their client...He wanted Olivia and her team to win...Only because they would be going up against Eric Issacs, the new ADA , who had his eyes on Samantha or he looked like he did.

Bruce ordered his meal and he ate quietly, staring at Olivia and Samantha...

And Occassionally staring at Renne Cantrell Jones and her husband, the bailiff ,turned Attorney, Tyrell Jones..

Seeing them together made his blood boil.

Bruce finished his meal and then walked across the street and sat in a rental car with shaded windows...

He watched as everybody left...Mostly on foot..

He followed behind ,not being noticed and discovered that Jeffrey James was staying with Olivia in her -sub-basement and Samantha, at least for tonight was staying with Olivia too..

He drove home!

"This is your room over here Mandy." said Olivia.

"Thank you for your hospitality Olivia... This place is something else... You and Donnie Ray, and Beverly and Nelson's living quarters.. Your conference room, law library and media center...it just blows my mind..." said Samantha.

"Here is a Towell and a wash rag..and some Body Wash if you didn't bring your own.."I said and smiled.

"I brought my own...but thank you....Now you two go on in your room and uh keep the noise down."joked Samantha...

"Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuu you are so bad..."laughed Olivia.

Within a few minutes , we were in our bedroom and the door was closed and locked..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, YOU COULDN'T WAIT" said Olivia as we began kissing passionately...

"Awwww Thank You Olivia....After you graduated...I offered to help you study for the bar...but you and my ex-husband just couldn't stand the sight of each other and you turned me down..."said Samantha.

"And you hated my fiance...Looks like we all made some bad choices....Maybe this time..It'll be different..." said Jeffrey.. 

"I helped Beverly ,Kayla and Jazzy study for the bar when they graduated from law school." said Olivia.

''She was like a drill sargeant.."joked Beverly.

"Oh I was not....but I wanted you three girls to pass." said Olivia.

 

"And the three of you are fine lawyers today largely because of your auntie.." I said.

"Oh No Doubt!, No Doubt!" said Beverly in all seriousness...

"She didn't help me pass the bar, but she mentored me during my first years as an Attorney..."said Nelson.

"Me too!"said Josie.

"We all owe Olivia...She was my favorite Lecturer when I was in Law School..." said Bresha.

"And I knew her when.."laughed Samantha hugging Olivia.

"AWWWWWWWWW YES YOU DID! Me and Vettie always looked up to you." laughed Olivia.

"You and Vettie and Karen were like my little sisters...I was a year ahead of them in Law School..I lived a few doors down from them in the dorms..."explained Samantha...

''Small World huh?" said Alfreda.

THE OFFICE OF ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY SAMANTHA ADDISON-

Samantha was back in her office, looking over case files later on that day...

She looked up and saw ADA Eric Issacs standing there..

"Hello Samantha..." he said.

" Hello.." she said, Smiling from ear to ear..

"I came to tell you that I dropped your brother's case...I couldn't do it....I passed it on to the next man up,Assistant District Attorney William Swift..

He was happy to take it on....He gets to work with his buddy from the police force, Lieutenant Arthur Tragg.... I have to tell you...I wasn't happy about working with him...So I'm glad to be rid of this case..."said Eric.

"Did you drop this case because of me?" asked Samantha..

"Honest? I did...I didn't want to be responsible for your brother going to prison or even if acquitted, him knowing that I prosecuted him.... I'm chicken shit I know...but I'm glad I did it..."said Eric Issacs.

"I'm glad you did it too!" said Samantha...relieved and smiling sweetly at Eric.

Bruce Green walked by and peered into her office.. He saw them laughing and talking..

HE WAS LIVID!   He walked back to his office and slammed the door...
