"Mmmmmmmmm I haven't eaten in Sam Mother's Diner in years....Thanks for inviting me Alfreda.."said Corrine.

"I figured you could use a break from studying ..plus we want to be close to the guys when the verdict comes down."said Alfreda.

SAM MOTHER'S DINER-MONDAY MORNING 8:00 AM

Lt. Tragg walked in just then...He couldn't help but stop by their table...

"Well look who it is...Ms. Corrine Walton and Alfreda , the office manager for Olivia...Eating Breakfast together...What are you two doing together and why did you recuse yourself from the trial?...Problem with Olivia.?" he asked.

"Personal Reasons....That's what I told the Judge....and that's the only person that I need to give an explanation to...NOT YOU!   And to answer your question....I am not having a problem with Olivia...I'm staying with her..."said Corrine...

''So why are you out ?" asked Lt. Tragg.

"Didn't she say personal reasons?" said Alfreda.

"DID I ASK YOU?" snarled Lt. Tragg... "Are you sick?" he asked Corrine. "Pregnant?" he asked.

"No I'm not sick and I'm definitely not pregnant....Now can we finish our breakfast? Get away from our table!" asked Corrine.

He stood at their table and stared balefully at the two women...

"Aren't you supposed to be at the courthouse?  For the verdict?" asked Alfreda..

"I'm on my way..." said Lt. Tragg..

He ordered a cup of coffee and continued to stare at the two women....He didn't have a clue as to why Corrine had recused herself from the trial...Neither did anyone else..

JUST ONE WEEK BEFORE-

We all entered the courtroom that morning...

Corrine rose quietly before the proceedings started...

"Your Honor....Before we get started... I would like to recuse myself from this trial....My Assistant, Romeo Flanders and Mrs. Bennett-Alexander will be the Lead Attorneys in the case...I am stating personal reasons." said Corrine...

"Corrie!! What's going on?" asked a stunned Romeo..

"I'll explain later baby...I promise..."said Corrine.

"Corrie?" asked Kathleen..

"You'll be fine!" said Corrine.. 

Olivia looked at a shocked Beverly, Nelson, Josie and Bresha..

 
"I promise you guys...I'll explain everything....Let's just go on with the trial." she said.

"Oh Wowww!" said Beverly...

"What happened?" asked Nelson.

"Personal Problems?" asked a confused Josie.

"I hope she's alright." said Bresha.

"She's fine....I promise you guys...I'll explain everything....Let's just go on with the trial."said Olivia.

I already knew the deal..

"Hmmm wonder what that is all about ?" wondered Diane..

"You suspect trouble in paradise?" asked Jake...

"I don't know..." mused Diane....

"Well Ms. Walton, I'm sorry to see you go...I hope all will be well with you young lady!"said Judge Kelly Ann..

"Thank you your honor." said Corrine as she exited the stunned courtroom.

TODAY-

He knew there was no friction between Corrine and Olivia, he knew she was staying with her and that their friendship went as far back as High school...She didn't look sick or pregnant, so what was the "personal problem?"

This would just be another mystery he wouldn't know the answer to.

II-

THE JUDGES CHAMBERS-8:15 AM

"Jake, oh my goodness....You screwed my brains out last night...you want more?" giggled a happy Diane Boranski, who was just happy she and Jake were back together...She realized how much she missed him, how empty she felt in the weeks without him...

"I can't help it Diane...I've got a Boner for you that won't quit.."moaned Jake, hugging Diane..

"You always have one....Is that door locked?" she whispered..Giggling like a high school girl...

"I think it is..." he whispered..

"Make sure it is.."said Diane..

Jake checked... "It is.." he said..

Diane dimmed the lights..

She and Jake began kissing ...

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM" she moaned..

"AWWWWWWWWWW LAWWWWD!" he moaned...

"SHHHHHHHHHHHH KEEP IT DOWN!" she whispered..

Their kissing got more passionate....

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM" she moaned..

"AWWWWWWWWWW LAWWWWD!" he moaned...

He reached under her dress and slipped her panties down..

"OH JAKE...JAKEEEEE!OUUUUUUUUU...OHHH MYYY!" she moaned.. He leaned her over the dresser drawer...

He dropped his trousers and entered her doggie style..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUU JAKE YOU FEEL SO DAMN GOOOOOD!"she cooed.

"DIANE....OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, AWWWWWW LAWWWD!" he cried out..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUU YOU AREN'T DOING THIS TO ME!  OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU " she cried out...her entire body shivering....

"AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW...OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!" he moaned..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU JAKEEEEE!" she screamed..

"DIANE....OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, AWWWWWW LAWWWD!" he cried out.

THE COURTROOM WAITING AREA- 9:30 AM

"Coffees anyone?" said our client, Kathleen Decker.

"Come and get em" said Attorney Romeo Flanders...

Today he and Kathleen had gone and fetched the coffees for us... There was no lipstick on his collar.

 

"Ummmmmmmmm thanks for the coffees."said Olivia.

 

"Next time, you and I will fetch coffees Liv." I said.

"That sounds fair..."said Olivia as coffee was passed out.

"Well at any rate...We had a nice weekend...Shopping and hanging out with our friends."said Beverly.

"Yeah, I thought I had sprained my ankle when I took that tumble at the roller skating rink, but I'm alright."said Nelson.

"This has been a long trial...Four weeks.."said Josie.

"And a day...We did the best we could." said Bresha.

"Yes you all did...I'm satisfied with my defense, regardless of how it turns out..."said Kathleen Decker..

The Media came in....We were in no mood to answer any questions..This had been a sensational case...

Of course the never camera shy Lt. Tragg was always available with a quip...

"We are a nation of laws...This morning we are going to let Justice, take it's course..." he said with a smile as cameras snapped photos of him... 

"It's 9:45 , Let's go inside the courtroom, I don't want to be asked any questions." said Olivia.

 

"That's a good idea." I said.

"I'm with you Liv." said Kathleen Decker..

"Yeah, come on..."said Romeo, taking Kathleen by the arm...

"I sure hope that jury comes to a conclusion..."said Beverly...

"Acquittal or Hung Jury...No way it's a conviction." said Nelson who rarely if ever read a jury wrong.

"I'm going with an Acquittal."said Josie.

"That's positive thinking Jo."laughed Nelson.

"Come on, let's get inside."said Bresha.

Corrine and Alfreda entered the courthouse...They saw us going into the courtroom and they followed.

"The Jury must have reached a verdict."said Corrine.

''Either that or they just want to get away from the press..come on,let's get a seat."said Alfreda.

Jake and Diane emerged from the Judges Chambers..

Jake's suit was wrinkled...

Diane's lipstick smudges were on his face and his lapel...

Diane was fixing her clothing...

and applying her lipstick....

The Bailiff greeted them at the door-

"THE JURY HAS REACHED A VERDICT!" he said.

III-

COURTROOM B- 10:00 AM

"ALL RISE FOR JUDGE KELLY ANN MERCER!" yelled the Bailiff

"Be seated...Jurors have you come to a verdict?" she asked.

"Yes Your honor, we have."said the Jury Foreman..  He passed the envelope with the verdict in in it to the Bailiff.

The Bailiff passed it to Judge Kelly Ann.

"Will the defendant rise please?" said Judge Kelly Ann after reading the verdict.

"I think we pulled this one out."said Diane..

"Yeah , it was a close one."whispered Jake.

Lt. Tragg for once was quiet...He knew all too well once Olivia and her niece Beverly and her young attorneys were involved in a case how things could go sideways...He wasn't sure.

 Olivia and Kathleen Decker stood up!

Olivia held her hand.

 

Kathleen was nervous...

Romeo stood stoically....He had handled himself well in this case..We all were impressed..

Beverly and Nelson held hands...

Josie and Bresha held each other...

I stood stoically...

"BAILIFF READ THE VERDICT!" said Judge Kelly Ann, her face betraying no emotion.

"In the Matter of the people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania vs. Kathleen Lee Decker on the Capital Charge of Murder in the First Degree....We find the defendant, Mrs. Kathleen Lee Decker, NOT GUILTY!" he said.

"OH MY GODDDD! OH MY GODDD! OLIVIA, THANK YOU!!! AND THANK YOU ROMEO,DONNIE RAY, BEVERLY, NELSON, JOSIE AND BRESHA!! THANK YOU ALLL!" said a jubilant Kathleen Decker, hugging and kissing all of us, tears in her eyes...

"WE DID IT AUNTAY!! WE WON ANOTHER ONE!" said Beverly, hugging her aunt..

"YES WE DID NEICEY POO!" said Olivia..

THEY BOTH LEAPED INTO THE AIR AND HIGH FIVED EACH OTHER AND SCREAMED...

"WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

"DAMN IT!  I HATE WHEN THEY DO THAT!" snarled Lt. Tragg, stomping his foot and storming out of the courtroom...

Where the press awaited him..

"You were wrong about another one Artie" laughed a reporter..

"Alright Lou...That's enough from you."snarled Lt. Tragg.

And in the courtroom-

"What would I do without you?" Olivia said to me...

I smiled.

She rewarded me with a soft kiss..

 A kiss that got hotter..

"You done well husband, as usual.."said Beverly to Nelson..

''Well don't just stand there...I'm worth some lip action too!"laughed Nelson.

"Ohhhh come here! YES YOU ARE!!!!" said Beverly planting a kiss on his lips..

a kiss that also got hotter...."And more than that when we get home.." she whispered...

"Ouuuuuuuuuu they need a room."laughed Alfreda, watching both couples...

"They sure do!"laughed Josie.

''We are used to their post victory celebrations..."said Bresha.

and in the corner...

"You did well Romeo...You're a fine Attorney....I couldn't ask for a better partner.." said Corrine..

''Well thank you...I couldn't ask for a better mentor.."said Romeo.

"Mentor? OUUUUUUUUU!You really want some tonight don't you?"laughed Corrine..

And they began kissing...

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" he moaned...

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM....OUUUUUUUUUUU!" she cooed.

"You know despite the age difference...I thought something more was going on between them."said Kathleen...This was the first time she had witnessed Romeo and Corrine Kissing.

Bresha laughed.

And Blocks away from the courthouse....Diane and Jake are walking hand in hand...

"I don't even care that we lost that case..It was long and involved and I'm glad to be done with it...I'm just glad I've got you back in my life...."said Diane..

"I'm glad we are back together too!" said Jake..

They stood on the corner and kissed...

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHH JAKE!" she moaned..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUU DIANE!!"he moaned.

They kissed passionately.....

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, OUUUUUUUUUUU" they both moaned in unison as they continued to kiss on the corner.

Kora diligently studied for the Bar exam...

A week before taking the Pennsylvania Bar exam...She and Romeo flew to Boston...

And she retook the Massachusetts Bar Exam....She passed with flying colors...

They stopped off in New York City, where she took the New York State Bar...

.She passed with flying colors...

 She was back in Philadelphia for the Pennsylvania Bar Exam..

which she also passed with flying colors.....

"I am totally legit!" she said proudly.... Thank you Olivia...Thank you for helping me..."she said joyously...

We all clapped as she was sworn in by Judge Jetty Dukes....

 

"I'm so happy for you.....Where were you for the past two weeks though?" asked Olivia.

"I can answer that...She and I went to Boston,.....She took the Massachusettes Bar and aced it and then we went to New York City, where she took the New York State Bar and aced that too!"said Romeo...

 

"Outstanding!" I said.

"I'm taking the New Jersey and Deleware State Bar exams soon...."said Corrine..

"WOWWW! YOU ARE TOTALLY LEGIT!" said Beverly, hugging her..

"I'm just over the moon girlfriend." said Corrine...now officially a licensed attorney...

"It's got to feel good...No longer having a shadow hanging over you.."said Nelson...

"Oh it does, it does.." said Corrine.

"I'm sooo happy for you!"said Josie..

"I know how good that feels..." said Paris..

"We've all got to go somewhere and celebrate.." said Bresha.

"Yeah, someplace nice..."said Tony...

"We always go to someplace nice.."laughed Alfreda..

"Yeah, what are you talking about?"laughed Rockland.. 

 "I'm Happy for you girl.."said Yvette, hugging her...

"I can practice law now with no shame..."said Corrine..

"What shame?  You did graduate with a J.D. from Harvard....You were still legit.."said Gary..

"She was , but now ,passing that Bar Exam is the icing on the cake."said Keith Jones.

"No One can Blackmail you...And No One can make you feel small ever again...

"You are licensed in three states and soon to be five..."said Sofia..

"You going to California to get licensed there?" asked Kahlil..

"I may, but no time soon..."said Corrine..

''What's the rush? You're comfortable here right?" laughed Jade..

"That's right.." said Corrine..

"CONGRATULATIONS!" said Danny Ho...

"Thank you!" said Corrine.

"We are going to take you out in a week or so and really celebrate something nice..."said Virginia.

" CONGRATULATIONS YOUNG LADY!" said Jetty.

 "SO HAPPY FOR YOU GIRL!" said Jazzy..

"You aced it like a champ...I told you ,you could."laughed Dabnis, who worked with Corrine the last two days before she went to Boston.

"Wow you're licensed in Massachusetts, New York and Pennsylvania....Good Job!"said Kayla, hugging her..

"You say you're going to take New Jersey and Deleware next huh?" asked Ray....

"Very Soon.." said Corrine.

"That's good , practically all of us are licensced in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Deleware." said Jessica.

"I know I am.." said Chip..

"You may be called to take cases in many of the neighboring states...So it's good to be licensed in them."said Karen...

"Congratulations." said  B.L.

"You'll find that New Jersey and Deleware's Bar Exams are a little easier.." said Natalie.

"Yeah a lot easier..."said David.

"I'm licensed in Maryland, Pennsylvania/New Jersey/Deleware/New York  and California." said Brooke.

"You are licensced in California?" asked Corrine.

"Yes...I tried a case out there once..." said Brooke.

''We all like to be double and triple covered.."said Sean.

''We all have tried cases in other places than Philadelphia...And Having once worked at the Harris Group, I know you'll be sent to other places too..So What you're doing is good.."said Zoey...

"Yeah just in the nick of time..."laughed her husband, Lem.

"This case was a godsend.." said Corrine..

"That it was...I'm happy for you..."said Renee..

"Yeah, congratulations!" said her husband, Tyrell.

"Congratulations to you." said Lee.

"I'm a Yale man  myself...Not Bad for a Harvard Grad..."laughed Matthew..

"Ohhhhhhh you're a Yaley Huh?" laughed Corrine...

Nina laughed out loud...

So did her husband, Carlos...

"I'm just happy for you baby!" said Romeo...

"Thank you baby!" said Corrine..

As they embraced and kissed...

Corrine took the bar in New Jersey and Deleware and she passed them both with flying colors...

She was over the moon ,being a licensed Attorney in  Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Deleware...

We decided to treat Corrine and Romeo to dinner at a Tony new Asian Fusion Restaurant.....

"Ouuuuuuuuu this is nice!"gushed Corrine....

" It's incredible!" said Romeo ,putting his arms around her. 

''We are glad you like it...You deserve tonight.." said Olivia.

 

"Enjoy!  Several of my musician friends told me about this place opening up..." I said.

"You know, even though Romeo is my age and Corrine is my Auntay's Age...They make a cute couple."said Beverly...

"Something about Older ,seasoned women and younger men."said Nelson..

"Look at Diane and Lawyer Bae, Jake Patais....He's our age and Diane is Olivia and Ms. Yvette's age."said Josie..

"Yeah them older women are puttin somethin on those young guys..."laughed Paris.

"It would seem so.."said Bresha.

"Maybe, but I prefer to stay in my own age bracket..."said Tony.

"I'm 11 years older than you..."said Alfreda...

"I don't mind....I don't mind...."said Rockland...

 "This is a very nice place..."said Yvette..

"Hey, when Donnie Ray recommends a place...I tend to go with it."said Gary.

"He hasn't steered us wrong yet."said Keith Jones.

"We came in just enough time to get tables near each other.." said Bee Bee.

"It's so many of us, that becomes harder and harder to do.."said Sofia.

''We are so used to the way we crowd together at work in the Bridge Building.."laughed Kahlil..

"I've been here before..with Danny...I hope everyone came with a good appetite."said Jade.

"Yes the food here is very good.."said Danny..

"You'll get no argument from  me...I'm sold.."said Virginia.

"Ummmmmmmmmm...Ummmmmmmmmmmph!" moaned Jetty...

''Well girl you've passed the Bar here in Pennsylvania,in New York, New Jersey, Deleware and Massachusetts...What do you plan to do next?" asked Jazzy..

"Romeo and I are going out to California next month....I'm going to take the Bar there..."said Corrine.

 

"WOW!  You're going to conquer the world huh?" laughed Dabnis..

"As much as I possibly can." said Corrine.

"I love it! I'm all for it!" said Kayla..

"Niceeeeeeeee!"laughed her husband, Ray.

"I wish I could go to California with you girlfriend.." laughed Jessica.

"I know, that goes double for me.." said Chip.

"You wanna go shopping with us next week?  You'll need a new wardrobe for California." said Karen.

"Oh Of course...I love hanging with you guys.."said Corrine..

"That's how this group got this big...Most of us loved hanging together...Next thing you know, here we are."laughed B.L.

"We live together, work at the same place and eat and drink together." said Natalie.

"One Big Happy family...with numerous hangers on.."laughed David.

''We should be sick of each other...but we never are..."said Brooke..

"Awwwww I like all of you guys..."said Corrine,..

"And we like you too!" said Sean.

"I know you're glad that trial is over aren't you?" said Zoey...

"I am...That was a long trial..Four weeks..The Jurors were exhausted...I know Olivia, Bev, Nelson and I were exhausted... I even think Diane and Jake were exhausted..."said Romeo.

"Well you guys did well." said Lem...

"I was sooo proud of Romeo...He held his own with everybody."said Corrine,.

"You both did..."said Olivia, smiling..

"It's good when you can put together a good team and they don't get in each others way..."said Renee.

"Yeah." said Tyrell.

"That's because each of us has a specific role to play in the trial .."said Beverly...

"My team works the same way........"said Yvette.

"And that's why you both are so successful.." said Lee.

"Exactly!" said Matthew...

"Here comes the food!" said Nina...

"Ouuuuu look!" said Carlos.

The hot food was prepared and placed on a buffet table..

Judge Kelly Ann and Lt. Tragg were also dining here tonight....

Kelly Ann smiled and waved at all of us...

"Arthur Look...Your favorite people. They have the same good tastes in cuisine, that we do, Tee Hee" she joked..

"I swear, can I ever go somewhere and THEY not be around?" he scoffed as they entered the restaurant and were seated..
