An Improper Relationship

 We had been busy lately... We had tried a big Voting Rights case in federal district court, By "We" , I mean our bodacious supervisor, Ms. Yvette and I, Attorney Keith Jones, Ny wife, Attorney Beatrice "Bee Bee" Evans-Jones, and our friends, Attorney Sofia Garcia-Ahmed amd her husband, AttorneyKahlil Ahmed and our investigator, Jade Lee-Ho.

 

 

Assisting our good friends from the Innocence Project, Jessica Sanchez-Burrows and her husband, Charles "Chip " Burrows

And the Attorneys of The Wrongful Conviction/Conviction Integrity Unit, Karen Page, Natalie Charles, David Charles and Brooke Marks

Assisted by Brooke's husband, Federal Public Defender, Sean Marks..

It was a huge sprawling case and another victory for our brain trust...We stopped two illegal districts from being drawn that would have disenfranchised African-American and Latino voting districts....

Nearly a week after that case... Wrongful Conviction/Conviction Integrity Unit and the Innocence Project Attorneys Karen Page, Natalie Charles, David Charles, Brooke Marks, Jessica Sanchez-Burrows and her husband, Charles "Chip" Burrows called on us again to help them as well as our good friends, Olivia Bennett-Alexander, Donnie Ray Alexander, Beverly West-East, Nelson East,Josie Boyd and Bresha Billips..on yet another sprawling case in Federal District Court.. This one a Police Reform Case...

 

 

 

We had all been recruited for both cases by States 's Attorney Tanya  Mosley and  Attorney Alvin Davis...

The Attorney who was the Chief of Staff and Best friend of States Attorney Tanya Mosley, who was on vacation...

It was another big sprawling case...It dealt with Police Reform. A Case that kept us out of Lt. Tragg's gunsights, but certainly not out of the news... We dug working in Federal District Court....It was walking distance for most of us from the Bridge Building 

where we worked...And both trials began at 10:00 AM, Not 9:00 or earlier. Everybody enjoyed all of their meals at our building's  cafeteria and we split our time working at our building and at Olivia and Beverly's Office /Duplex in the afternoon..

on the two big cases.

B.L. Benz had us all on his TV show "HARD BOTTOM" the next week to discuss both successful cases..

While we all were enjoying some down time after the conclusion of both landmark cases, Something else was brewing in  Barbados...

States Attorney Tanya Gates and her gentleman friend, our friend, Greg Garland were enjoying a nice vacation in Barbados..

They were staying in a little villa as guests of Millionaire Rollie Rollerson....He had given Greg the keys and allowed them to stay there free of charge as a favor he owed to Greg for some free legal advice he had given him a few years back.  All they had paid for was their airline tickets.

"I just got off the phone with Alvin...They won their case.....Their second case." said Tanya..

"He had enough help....Those Innocence Project lawyers, Those Lawyers from uh Wrongful Conviction/Conviction Integrity, not to mention outside help from Yvette Jones and her team and Olivia and Beverly and their team...He just ought have won those cases."laughed Greg.

When last we saw him , two years ago...He had headed to Atlanta....He was back in the area again...He had accepted a job in the States Attorney's Office as a special prosecutor.. He had also used his charm and power of persuasion to work his way into Tanya Mosley's bed...The two had been secretly dating for about three months... Only Alvin Davis knew they were here in Barbados....or so they thought.

"Those were big and important cases and big wins for my office..and with me not being personally involved, the corporate plaintiffs couldn't say it was personal or vindictive.. and by the way you're going to be prosecuting a big case for my office yourself when we get back..." said Tanya Mosley.

"Yes I am...but I don't want to think about that right now..That's weeks away...I want to get into your panties right now.. I've waited long enough." said Greg raffishly...

She was here today with her client, Sonia Lopez, who Olivia and Beverly and company had recently acquitted weeks ago in a double murder case..

Sonia was mute, but she could hear and she understood both English and Spanish.. She wrote on a piece of paper- "I am grateful to you all.."

"It's what we do." said Sofia.

"Yeah..." said Kahlil...

They were working to get her Student and Work Visas up to date...

While Jessica and Chip were working to get her citizenship.

''When we are finished , you'll have your citizenship." said Jessica.

"You have an excellent chance of getting it." said her husband Chip.

"That's what they did for me." said Jade, smiling and looking at Me, Bee Bee and Ms. Yvette.

"That will be one last thing to be held against you.Sonia...You were cleared of Murder charges and now you can get your citizenship and move on with your life." I said.

"Yeah...." said Bee Bee.

"Lord knows the poor girl had enough, her being mute and an immigrant and having those murder charges over her head.. She's got a job at the women's law center and she just moved into a new apartment.. This will be the closing of the book."said Ms. Virginia.

'Well she's been acquitted of the murder charges...Thank God...Now the road to citizenship is the next hurdle she has to jump...We'll get her there." said Jetty.

''So Livy...What's the deal for the weekend?" asked Ms. Yvette.. Olivia had become our unofficial social director." she said.

''Everybody is  tired of Curley's...So this Thursday Night...Let's go back to that Brazillian Bar and Grille we went to after Sonia was acquitted.. Everybody loved that place." said Olivia , who had joined us today. "Friday Night, No ID Bar as usual and Saturday Morning, Brunch as usual at NO ID BAR... The rest of Saturday is open.|anybody else have any suggestions?" she asked.

 

"Sounds like a winner to me.. and Saturday Night...I'll be playing at Josie's.."said Donnie Ray.

"Nothing like Saturday Night at Josie's..."laughed Beverly...

"I'm all here for it..."said Nelson with a smile.

"Sounds like a winner to me." said Josie.

"No Lt. Arthur Tragg at all." said her husband, Paris.

"And with all of our cases down, we can relax...I mean really relax." said Bresha.

"I like the way that sounds..."said her husband, Tony.. 

"Hey Saturday, after Brunch, We should take a ride out to Bayside....I'd like to do some shopping." said Jazzy.
 

"We can watch the games in our spot while you girls do your thing."said Dabnis.

"Sounds like a plan to me.." said Kayla..

"What do you think Number one Bennett woman?" joked Ray.

''Number one Bennett Woman?, You are hillarious  Ray.  We can do that."laughed Olivia...

"I love this friend group and all of the things we do together."laughed Jessica.

"I think we all do." laughed Chip.

"So far, everything you've proposed works for me. B.L. and I will drive down, meet you guys there." said Karen Page..

"Me too...I have some shopping to do myself.." said Natalie.

"Yeah why not go together on Saturday after we eat..?" said David..

"And end the night in Josie's....Sounds like a fabulous weekend." said Brooke.

"I guess we all are kind of tired after all of these trials.."said her husband, Sean.

"I guess Lt. Tragg thinks we've dropped off the face of the Earth...He hasn't seen hide no hair of any of us in court, in Sam Mother's diner or Curleys in weeks."laughed Zoey.

"And we haven't seen him either....Good riddance."laughed Lem.

"He's seen us on Television..We've all been on the news." I said.

"I'm sure he'd be whining and complaining if he knew where to find us." said Kahlil.

"Saturday will be nice.. I just hope it doesn't rain." said Renee.

"Yeah, I hope it doesn't either." said her husband Tyrell.

After lunch we met in our conference room.... 

 ''Well we finished both cases...We can relax for a few days guys...I'm real proud of all of you, you really made our firm look good."gushed Ms. Yvette.

"Yeah now let's hope no one we know gets murdered or accused of murder anytime soon." I laughed.

"Yeah."laughed my wife Bee Bee.

"I just want to finish up this paper work for Sonia..." said Sofia.

"I'll help you." siad Kahlil.

"Come on, let's go out to the truck...see what he's got new and hot." said Jade.

''Watch how you say that girl.." joked Ms.Virginia, and both women laughed..

Ms. Yvette looked at all of us and smiled. we didn't know it...but a storm was brewing...One we'd be caught up in before we knew it.

ONE WEEK LATER- PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

States Attorney Tanya Mosley, returning from her two week vacation...The only vacation she'd taken since being elected States Attorney..was mobbed by reporters and media people...She thought they'd be talking about two successful cases argued by her office recently..One a Voting Rights Case and the other a Police Reform Case. Two Cases she was proud her office fought for and won....but they didn't care about that....All they wanted to talk about was her personal life...

"Is it true you are involved with Prosecuting Attorney Greg Garland and that you hired Mr. Garland to prosecute...Wade Flemmings....and that you two vacationed in Barbados together on Public Funds recently?" asked one reporter...

"Have you heard that the Governor is hinting at a probe into your improper relationship with this man?" asked another reporter...

"I don't know what you're talking about..." she said and kept walking..

"Get Out of my face." said Greg Garland as he continued walking and they continued following him...

The Cat was out of the bag about them now...but who leaked their relationship to the press?

At their home, Gary and Ms. Yvette were watching the whole thing unfold on the news...

"Hey Vettie you see this? Your Boy Greg Garland is back in town and according to reporters, he and your girl, Tanya Mosley were having an improper relationship."laughed Gary...

"I didn't know he was back in the neighborhood...I thought he was still in Atlanta.. Poor Tanya, her office has done a lot of good...Just won a Voting Rights Case and a Police Reform Case and all they want to talk about is her alleged love life... They'll look for any scandal to attach to her..And everytime she does something , anything, they alledge she used Public Funds... I'll bet the last States Attorney spent far more of the public's money than she did." said Yvette...

"According to this A spokesperson for Governor of Pennsylvania said Mosley could face a probe by a special commission over her alleged “improper” relationship with Greg Garland, who she appointed as a special prosecutor in the Wade Flemmings case." said Gary.

"It's all nonsense." said Yvette...

''Well it's not nonsense what I'm feeling for you right now.."said Gary ,climbing on top of Yvette in the bed.. and slipping his robe off..

" OUUUU, you should wear some clothes, some pajama bottoms under that robe.... thing...WOUUUUUUUUUUU ,LOOK AT YOU ALL BIG AND HARD..." Yvette exclaimed..

Gary slipped her panties down... He flipped her over and spread her legs.... Yvette's body trembled with excitement....

Ms. Yvette lie on top of Gary, trying to catch her breath... Gary was drifting off to sleep..

Yvette worried about her friend, Fellow Attorney and Pennsylvania State's Attorney Tanya Mosley...

That same night, a few of us had come out for Pizza, a few blocks away at Food Corner..

We ordered Two Big Pizzas.....

"Ummmmmmmmm this is good." I said, cutting a slice for me and one for my wife,Bee Bee.

''Hey did anyone see the news today?...States Attorney Tanya Mosley was ambushed at the airport...with Greg Garland..." said Bee Bee.

"I didn't know he was back in town...I thought he was in Atlanta...He's working for and allegedly dating Tanya Mosley."said Sofia.

"Yeah and that's where the problem may lie...She hired him to prosecute Wade Flemmings...That case is coming up in a few weeks." said Kahlil.

"So what if she is sleeping with him? So what?" asked Jessica.

"It doesn't look good...She hired him...He essentially works for her and she's sleeping with him..and prosecuting a case against one of her harshest critics, next to Bryce Barnes... It's just not a good look.."said Chip.

"We could argue that point Chip....I don't think it should matter, but they should try to keep that on the low." said Renee.

"They were....Somebody found out..."said Tyrell.

''Which means her office has a big leak." I said.

Gregory Garland walked in....He smiled weakly and waved at us...

Bee Bee and I, Sofia and Kahlil  waved back...

He didn't know Jessica, Chip , Renee or Tyrell...

But they knew who he was...He was all over the news today...

He ordered a Banana Split and sat in a corner by himself..  He wanted to be with Tanya tonight...but he couldn't be...

And Tanya was in her home thinking about him....She wished he could be with her tonight, she was hella horny......but because of the scrutiny she was under.....he couldn't be.

IV-

THE OFFICE OF ATTORNEY BRYCE BARNES-

Private Investigator Bert Vandenberg walked into the office.. Attorney Wallace Payton, who he once worked for exclusively was there...and so was Attorney Wade Flemmings and Bryce Barnes

"Hello Bert...You look Tan." said Wallace Payton...

"Barbados was good to you.huh?" said  Wade Flemmings.

"I expect you have something for us." said Bryce Barnes..

"I do indeed..." said Bert.... he opened up a manilla folder filled with photographs of Tanya Mosley and  Gregory Garland...

He had very good , clear photos of States Attorney Tanya Mosley and the man she had hired to prosecute Wade Flemmings in Barbados at their Villa, kissing and having all kinds of sex... It looked like scenes from a porn movie.

The Tamest photo was one of them on the beach....

"OHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYY...SHE DOES HAVE A SEXY BODY!" observed  Bryce Barnes...who had unsuccessfully run for States Attorney against Tanya and lost twice.

"Hmmmmm shame she's such a pain in the ass..Ummmm she's got quite a rack on her and a nice ass...Myyy goodness..Can't say I blame Greg Garland." said Wade Flemmings, who was being brought up on serious charges and about to be prosecuted by Greg Garland... "These photos will force her to back off.." he snarled.

''Are you yalking about blackmailing a State's Attorney?? Are you guys crazy?" asked Private Investigator, Bert Vandenberg..

"Relax Bert...your part in this will not be disclosed...You'll give us the negatives, You'll be paid in cash and no one will be the wiser...We aren't going to blackmail her...We don't have to..We'll make the allegation...She'll have no choice but to deny it....and then these photos will come out...Slowly to all of the news and internet sources.Her credibility will be ruined and he'll have to with draw from prosecuting Wade here...and we win!! No harm, No foul...Her credibility will be ruined...and she won't even think about re-election...Heh heh heh.."laughed Wade's present attorney, Wallace Payton, a ruthless man if ever there was one.

And outside our building on the street..

"You gotta try this Tyrell, it is the absolute Best." I said to fellow Attorney, Tyrell Jones..

I had bought a Cuban Sandwich off of the food truck.

"It looks good..." said Tyrell..

"It is good. This guy's truck used to be in front of our old building, when we were in Center City...We were so glad to find out that he had relocated here too." said Kahlil...

Sofia was buying Churros off the same truck...

My wife Bee Bee and Renee Jones were buying Coffees for their respective office meetings...

''Sofia loves Churros..She got me to liking them." said Bee Bee to Renee.

"They look and smell good..."said Renee....

While upstairs in our conference room....

"Greg has had a knack for two things the entire time I've known him...Getting into women's panties and getting himself in trouble." sighed Yvette.

"Were you and him ever a ....a thing?" asked Ms. Virginia.

Ms Yvette smiled... "Yeah, in law school....for awhile.....He used to bring me a good joint every now and then and a case of beer to my dorm room..Olivia would be gone for the weekend..Up in New York, modeling for extra cash... Greg would come over to uh "Keep me company" and get me drunk and high and the next thing you know.. He was in the panties...alll night long...He was a year ahead of me...So this went on almost until he graduated..."laughed Yvette, thinking about the memory..

Virginia, who was a year older than Yvette smiled.. "I know about a case of beer and a good turbo joint..Instant Aphrodisiac.." she said and both women laughed long and hard..

Jade walked in the conference room just then , followed by Sofia,Bee Bee,Myself and Kahlil with food..

Cubans, Churros and Hot Coffee.

"We come bringing food."laughed Sofia.

''And Coffee."said Bee Bee.

"And Now we are just awaiting our guest of honor." I said.

"Yup!" addede Kahlil.

Attorney Gregory Garland walked in....

"Hello Yvette, it's been awhile." he said in his deep baritone voice.
