TRIAL DAY- COURTHOUSE WAITING AREA

The four of us, Myself, my wife Bee Bee, Sofia and Kahlil had walked down the street to a nearby coffee shop and brought us all coffees...

 

"I think we have enough to win this case....Like a lot of cases brought in by Lt. Tragg, this case is weak." I said.

"Once again, he jumped the gun and brought in the wrong guy.." said Bee Bee.

"He still goes for the quick arrest..that much hasn't changed about him." said Sofia.

"Yeah, good sex isn't the answer to all of his problems." said Kahlil..

We all burst into laughter...

Ms. Yvette sat listening to our client..

"This is a hell of a time to tell you...but I lied.....When you showed me those black lacy panties...

I said I didn't recognize them...I did recognize them...They belong to my wife, Marla...I know because I bought them...

You see, I was up there at his hotel room on a Sunday Morning, not to talk business but to catch them together... "We have suspected your wife could possibly at least be the other visitor in that room if not the killer...I just thought I should tell you that." said Yvette..."Thanks guys for the coffee." she said...

Jade walked over and took her coffee...

"Thanks guys.....I got the DNA results back...It's a match....The DNA in the panties and the DNA they took from the utensils and coffee cup Marla ate from at our cafeteria yesterday...a 100% DNA match...She was the Brunette, who was in the room Thursday Night...and I found a hotel employee who identified her positively from a photo I showed him...I'm sorry sir." said Jade.

"It's okay....I already told Yvette that the minute you showed me those panties...I knew it was her that she'd been in his room...Now I don't know whether she killed him...but I know she was in his room sleeping with him...I'm tired of being a cuck....Do you know a good divorce lawyer?" said Mark Bogel.

Her phone rang.... It was Virginia.

"I thought I'd call you before you went in court... I served your girl the subpoena this morning...In our cafeteria... She didn't take it well...Jazzy and Kayla had to get in between us....I was almost on my way back to prison... I swear Vettie girl...I would have cut her..." said Virginia.

''Well I'm glad that didn't happen.. Good Work Virginia.."laughed Yvette.

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"moaned  Kelly Ann.

She and Lt. Tragg were passionately kissing in the chambers....He had slipped in while she was fixing her hair and applying make up and lipstick...

came the voices from the Judges Chambers.

Judge Brau was trying to open the door of the Judge's chambers, but it was locked.

"What the hell is going on in there? Why is the door locked?" asked Judge Brau angrilly.

"What did you want to talk to me about anyway that couldn't be talked about out here?" asked Assistant District Attorney Brittany Hanks.. She knew he was trying to get her in the Judges Chambers so he could kiss her...She was glad the door was locked...She had no intentions of doing that with him...

"I don't know if you heard but my wife and I have divorced...I moved out and am staying in a small house I'm renting in Bayside...So uh, you and I are free to date...and with me living in Bayside, it could be real discreet..." said the Judge. "Heh heh heh." laughing slying.

ADA Brittany Hanks began laughing uncontrollably....

"Oh My God....You are something else.. I never said I wanted to date you..." she laughed..

The door of the Judges Chambers finally opened..

Judge Kelly Ann Mercer emerged... She was fixing her hair...She looked out of breath...She was holding her robe in her hands... She slipped it on....

Lt. Tragg emerged behind her....His suit was wrinkled... He had a goofy pleased as punch look on his face...

Her lipstick was on his collar and his cheek...His trousers were sticking out like a circus tent....

Neither of them said anything to Judge Brau or Brittany, but it was obvious what they had been doing.

ADA Brittany Hanks put her hand over her mouth...She was really laughing now...

" Oh My God!!!This morning has certainly been entertaining...." she said and walked away.

Furious! Judge Brau walked away....He saw Yvette and her staff sitting with their client, drinking coffee..

"Yvette is a babe and she keeps some good looking women around her " he thought..as he looked at us all sitting there.

II-

COURTROOM B-

"Good Morning! Good Morning Attorneys and Jurors...I am Judge William Brau...I believe I know most of you....Due to courtroom crowding of cases , we are going to bypass a preliminary hearing...We know that a crime, a henious crime has been committed so we are going to go straight to trial.. I expect, some of you are tired of hearing this...but it is what it is..We are  trying to wind down our case load.. We will have Jury selection today.. Trial could begin tomorrow morning if we seat a jury today.." said Judge Brau.. "We will start today with introductions.." he said.

"Representing the Commonwealth ,Assistant District Attorney James Taylor." said Jumpshot Jim.

"Also Representing the Commonwealth , Assistant District Attorney Brittany Hanks." said Brittany...

"Also Representing the Commonwealth ,Assistant District Attorney Chris Garcetti" said Chris.

D.A. Investigator Ingrid Stevenson, against her better judgement sat next to Lieutenant Tragg...Much to her delight and surprise... He did not touch her legs or attempt to run his hand up her skirt...He was on his best behavior today...She wondered if it was in response to the two thrashings her boyfriend, Also an Assistant District Attorney had given himr. Whatever it was...He didn't lay a hand on her or even look her way..

Lt. Tragg sat calmly with his legs crossed....He still had a boner that was protruding from his trousers...but it had nothing to do with Ingrid or Brittany...He was thinking of Judge Kelly Ann, who was three doors down hearing another trial.

 

 "Lead Attorney for the Defense, Mrs. Yvette Jones-Lockwood." said Yvette.

"Attorney Keith Jones, for the defense , your honor." I said.

"Attorney Beatrice Evans-Jones for the defense your honor." said Bee Bee.

''Attorney Sofia Garcia-Ahmed for the defense your honor." said Sofia.

''Attorney Kahlil Ahmed for the defense your honor." said Kahlil.

Judge Brau looked our investigator, Ms. Jade up and down....He found her especially attractive.. She sat quietly and demurely.

Our client...Mark Bogel sat contritely....Here he was accused of murder.....He wished he hadn't been so jealous as to go to that hotel room hoping to catch his wife...What would it have mattered if he had caught her? He wondered... At any rate.... Everything was the same... He and Marla were through...The Pretense was over...

He looked around the courtroom.....He knew she'd been subpoenaed...There was no sign of her..

"Alright we will now have Jury Selection..." said Judge Brau...

Assistant District Attorney Brittany Hanks again was chosen to do Voir Dire.. She had learned a few tricks since last time...

But Kahlil and Myself had learned a few things too and this time we got 8 out of 12 , to her 4 jurors for her...

"Well Alright..We have seated a jury.....Trial will begin tomorrow at 9:00 Am... Attorneys be on time and be ready for trial." said the Judge..

Greg and his girlfriend Shawn were waiting for us when court let out...

"She had to see you guys in action, heh heh heh,so I brought her with me."laughed Greg Garland..

"You guys were great!" said a star struck Shawn. 

 "We really didn't do anything yet.." said Ms.Yvette.

"Today was just a preview...The real trial begins tomorrow." I said.

"Trust me, it's not like TV..after a few days, it gets kind of dull...Listening to a whole lot of talk."said Bee Bee.

"If you're around til next week and I trust you will be, We have a surprise for you" said Sofia..

"But it'll be a secret.." said Kahlil, smiling..

"Well Mr. Bogel...Your wife will be testifying soon....Her testimony may get you off." said Jade.

"How ironic." said David..

That night at Home... Ms. Yvette seemed to be in a hopeful mood.

'Well we selected a jury today...Trial starts tomorrow." said Ms. Yvette

"I uh suppose you're going to take a nice hot shower and get to bed early huh? Here...I made you some of that tea you like." said Gary.

He served her her favorite Organic Tea..

Yvette finished her tea and put the cup and saucer in the sink.....

without saying a word , she turned and gave her husband a soft slow kiss....

"I can shower in the morning...." she said..

ONE WEEK LATER-

Jumpshot Jim, Brittany Hanks and Chris Garcetti had a weak case...but by calling in Ingrid Stevenson a very good investigator and by Lt. Tragg actually recanvassing and doing some extra investigating it bolstered their case a little bit..

Their theory was that Mark Bogel was insanely jealous and thought that his wife might be cheating on him with Cameron Jerguson and that he killed him in a rage after discovering emails going back and forth between the two of them..

They had checked  Marla's laptop and phone and Cameron's as well.

But Bee Bee, Ms. Yvette and Sofia frustrated the three of them with their many objections...all based on predicates, laws and laws used in like cases...

Judge Brau upheld all of their objections...

"ARE YOU LOOKING AT THE FACTS IN THIS CASE OR THEIR LEGS AND BLOUSES?" ADA Brittany Hanks yelled out..She could see Judge Brau's mouth practically watering looking at Yvette and her two young protoge's Beatrice and Sofia and even her investigator, Jade.

"One more outburst like that and you're out of here.. You're questioning my integrity...How dare you?" said Judge Brau softly... It was true though that he found, Ms. Yvette, my wife, Bee Bee , Sofia and Jade extremely attractive...

I questioned the crime scene evidence.... citing that our client's fingerprints are only on the doorknob and nothing else...

''A crime committed so passionately would have yeilded more fingerprints and DNA ,don't you think?" I argued..

Kahlil went hard on cross on three of the hotel witnesses , getting them to admit they had never seen Mr. Bogel before the day of the murder and admitting that he gave them his true name and address before checking in...

"Pretty Stupid if you're going to kill someone huh?" asked Kahlil..

"I object, argumenative.." screamed Chris Garcetti.

"Sit down and shut up!" said Judge Brau...who really disliked Chris Garcetti.

Before we could do anymore damage...Jumpshot Jim gave his closing arguments, which were very good , very convincing and closed his case...

Meaning we were up next...

Yvette and I and Kahlil each gave opening arguments...Saying that our client did little more than come upon a dead body with a meat cleaver in the chest and blood everywhere and he freaked out like most people would have done upon coming upon a scene like that and nothing more.

Our defense began with us showing the jury enlarged photos of the crime scene....just as the prosecution had... and calling witnesses from the police department and the Medical Examiners office that explained that they didn't find our clients fingerprints or DNA anywhere else, except the doorknob...Not even on the murder weapon.

We brought up a cook who said the particular meat cleaver was stolen from the kitchen, sometime that morning...

There were absolutely no fingerprints on the meat cleaver, it had been wiped clean.

The hotel staff testified that they had only seen our client the day of the murder in the lobby and not before.

We had hotel employees who testified they saw Sherry Moore , the night before the murder and the day of the murder.

Sherry testified that she had spent the night and half of the morning with the deceased and they had gone to breakfast and she had left him afterwords...

We presented two witnesses who positively identified Marla Bogel as his Thursday Night and Friday Morning guest....

She sat in court totally embarrassed.

Sofia and Bee Bee presented the emails and texts  also to her and asked her several times if she was in love with Cameron...

They presented all of her and Cameron's law school acquaintences from Harvard !!!and former associates from New York who testified to their affair...

She admitted finally that she was in love with Cameron and was planning to divorce her husband as soon as the litigation was over.

"You know, you were supposed to be on our side and you betrayed us...You sent texts of everything we discussed in private to Cameron Jerguson....You were trying to help him gobble up your husband's business. You put everything on the line for him and then you walked up on him and Ms. Moore making love.....You couldn't believe it....You had only been  missing for a day and here he had another woman in his bed...That's when you killed him isn't it? That's why you never told the police that you had also visited him and that those panties were yours that they found on the floor...ISN'T IT?" asked Ms. Yvette.

"YES...YES....I KILLED HIM!!!!....I KILLED HIM!!!...HE WAS THE ONLY MAN I EVER TRULY LOVED....I AM SORRY MARK...I AM SO SORRY...BUT IT WAS ALWAYS CAMERON...EVER SINCE LAW SCHOOL...I WANTED TO MARRY HIM...HE TOLD ME HE WOULD MARRY ME..BUT HE LIED...HE LIED...HE LIED.....HE JUST WANTED TO GET ME IN THE BED...WHICH HE DID ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS!!!!!HE WAS A WHORE..A MALE WHORE!!!! SATISFIED???" she cried out angrilly.....

Nobody expected that...We were all shocked.. The Jury gasped.

"Bailiff's take that woman into custody.......Uh this concludes this trial.....Jurors, you will receive your checks in the mail, thank you for your attention to the details of this case.. You may exit through the rear doors." said a shocked Judge Brau..

"WE HAD JUST MADE LOVE THURSDAY NIGHT...HE COULDN'T WAIT FOR ME TO RETURN...HE HAD ANOTHER TROLLIP IN THE BED WITH HIM!!! WHAT A LYING MALE WHORE!" she burst out again.

Marla looked relieved as though she had gotten something off her chest she had needed to get off for a long time..

She didn't even look at her husband as she was escorted out by the baillifs...

"GET HER THE HELL OUT OF HERE!" barked Judge William Brau.

"Well so much for that....Thank you guys so much, for everything...."said our client...Mark Bogel....now an exonerated man... He looked so relieved as the bailiffs took his electronic ankle monitoring device off.

''What will you do now Mark?" asked Ms. Yvette.

"I'm getting a divorce and then it's back to Miami, to run my business....Thanks again Yvette." he said.

IV-

After trial we all stood out in the hallway...

"You guys were great! That woman was a trip!  Scary!" said a starry eyed Shawn...

"Yvette, you gave a masterclass on interrogating and breaking down a witness...I should have filmed this."laughed Gregory, hugging Ms. Yvette.

 

 "I didn't expect her to break down like that and so fast..."laughed Ms. Yvette.

"I know...we had three more witnesses and some damning physical evidence to present."I said.

''At best we were hoping she'd go...I'm not answering anymore questions without legal counsel." said Bee Bee.

"All we wanted to do was produce reasonable doubt." said Sofia.

"She confessed..that was like an early summer gift." laughed Kahlil

''At any rate, the trial is over and our client is free.. I think at some point the weight of what she did was weighing on her...She was close to the breaking point." said Jade.

Olivia and her group walked up just then..

"Olivia, what are you doing here? You guys finished a trial too?" asked Yvette. 

"Yes, a three day trial....We got it over quick....We're in a good mood today.." said Olivia.

"We got an acquittal too in our trial."said Yvette.

 

"Then you're all in good spirits and ready for the weekend..."said Donnie Ray...

"Shhhhhhhh it's a surprise...Shawn doesn't know about it." whispered Beverly...

"It's like an Early Summer gift....They're leaving Sunday." said Nelson...

"Yeah, our last time to show her a good time." said Josie.

"This cook out will be epic and memorable for her." said Bresha. 

"I think it already has been." said Bee Bee.

"Yes and Saturday will be the perfect way to end it up..." said Sofia....

 

"It's gonna be epic..." I said.

"I just hope it doesn't rain." said Kahlil...

"You mean like it's doing now.."laughed Jade..

Outside a torrential rain began to pour as we all rushed to our cars and headed home.

IV-

Marla Bogel was formally charged with second degree murder of Cameron Jergeson.....her Attorney argued "diminished capacity"  She was sentenced to 10- 15 years...a lot less than she deserved.

Mark Bogel divorced her and returned to Miami to successfully run his business.

He remarried.... A Black Miami Real Estate Attorney named Patricia Jenkins....

Saturday...

We all met at Greg's house in Bayside...The House he was renting for his trips to the Philadelphia Area...

"Since we are leaving tomorrow, everybody wanted to do one last thing for you Shawnie...because they like you so much...So I told Liv and Yvette to have something here on my front lawn...A surprise for you....A Parting Summer Gift."said Greg...

"OHHHHHHH THANK YOU BABY!! THANK YOU ALL, THIS IS SOOOO LIT!" said Shawn, almost in tears...

It was a beautiful house and had a nice big lawn... We set up Party Tents for us to eat in and another tent that housed our grills..

There was plenty of food...Steaks on the grill, Burgers and Dogs and Seafood..

We had a table set up with Pork and Beans and Pasta salads and Tacos...

And plenty to drink, Beer, Soda, Ice Tea.

"OH MY GODDD! OH MY GODDD!! OH MY GODDDD! Everything is sooooo nice Ms. Yvette.

Thank you all...I love you all." said Shawn. 

 ''We love you too...We wanted to say goodbye by giving you a nice sendoff."said Ms. Yvette, hugging her.

"So uh what time are you guys pulling off tomorrow?" asked Gary.

"I have a 9:00 Am Flight...Gotta have this rental car back too!   You guys will be sleeping in your beds when we pull off." said Greg.

"Yeah , 9:00 Am Sunday Morning...In the summer.....You're right about that." I said.

Bee Bee hugged me and kissed me on the cheek...

"Yeah, pretty much." she said.

"Well it's nice that we are enjoying this one last time together." said Sofia.

"This has ben an awesome three to four weeks so far..." said Kahlil..

"Yes it has... We always know how to have fun." said Jade.

"We sure do." said Danny..

''Sometimes I have to pinch myself and tell myself this isn't some prison fever dream." said Virginia.

"It's no fever dream baby." said Jetty.

"Ohhhhh I'm gonna cry.." said Shawn...

"Now Now...No crying...This is a joyous occasion." said Olivia, hugging her.

 

"Come on , enjoy one of these steaks and some seafood."said Donnie Ray.

Beverly pulled up a chair...

"Come on sit with us..." she said.

Nelson poured her some Ice Tea...

"We are going to miss you." said Josie.

"You have our email and phone numbers and social media contacts.." said Paris.

"Yeah, you can keep up with us.." said Bresha.

"And we'll definitely keep up with you...Send you photos from time to time." said Tony....

Alfreda hugged her..

"You were like one of my own baby girls." she said.

 Rockland laughed.

Nina and Carlos were once again with us...They had spent the night at Olivia and Beverly's house in order to come with us today...

"Thanks for letting us crash with you Olivia." said Nina.

"Ohhhh nonsense..We didn't mind.." said Olivia.

"Yes...we might not have made this trip in time if you hadn't."laughed Carlos.

"I'm gonna miss you guys so much." said Shawn to Jazzy and Kayla. 

''We are going to miss you too!" said Jazzy.
 

"Yeah especially on Salsa Night at Aqua Bar." said Dabnis.

"We had a ball didn't we?  At Stoleys, Aqua Bar, Josie's, ,The Beach."said Kayla.

"Hopefully you'll come up around Christmas..."said Ray.

"Yeah Greg, bring her up around Christmas.."said Jessica.

"We might find a rink and add Ice skating to our list of activities." said Chip.

"I don't believe I ice skate." laughed Greg...

"I do....I can teach you." said Karen.

"You'll have to teach me too!"laughed her husband, B.L.

"Brooke taught me."said Natalie.

"Well you can both teach me." said David.

"It's easy...If you can roller skate, you can Ice Skate." said Brooke.

"You and I used to Ice skate a lot in D.C. when we first met."said her husband, Sean.

"Awwwwwwwwww how romantic." said Zoey.

"I tried it once...I fell and almost broke my butt." admitted her husband, Lem.

"Well Ice Skating is so far off the agenda at this point."laughed Renee..

"Yeah for real."laughed her husband, Tyrell.

We all partied , Ate , drank, laughed and talked until midnight, when we packed up, said our goodbyes and headed home..

PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT-SUNDAY MORNING!

"I don't have to ask you if you enjoyed yourself...You certainly did, didn't you?" said Greg to his girlfriend, Shawn...Even he didn't anticipate his friends showing her such a good time.

"I sure did..." she said.. "I loved your friends.. I look forward to coming back up here and hanging out with them again.." said Shawn..

"Well you never know.. Philly is my home and that's why I bought that rental property, so that I have somewhere to rest my head whenever I'm up here...Maybe in a few months." said Greg.
