Blue Heat

THE NEXT MORNING- 

We were all having breakfast ...

"It sure is nice having you guys back here and all of us eating breakfast together....It got kind of lonely around here.," said Alfreda, our office manager , Beverly's mother and our general housekeeper of sorts.. On the days we were gone, She came in, tidied up the place and usually left by noon.. 

"It's nice being back...It's nice having that litigation over." said Olivia.

 

"I think I'll practice my trumpet...I'm playing two nights next week at Josie's." I said.

"That's right....We haven't heard you play in awhile now." said Beverly as she fixed herself a plate of food...

"Next week is going to be fun, a different event every night."said Nelson..

"We don't have to ride the buses next week...We can walk to Josie's every night." said Josie.

"Yes, that will be fun." said Bresha.

As we scooped up pancakes,

Breakfast sausages

Hash browns

and omelettes made to order

Hot steaming cups of coffee

and freshly squeezed orange juice...

Meanwhile downtown in the very building we had been meeting in for the past two to three weeks in room 509, a grisly scene was unfolding..

"Wow look at all this blood... This guy bled out like a stuck pig." said a CSI investigator as another man snapped photos of the dead body of Max Roach..

"He's been shot multiple times... three in the side here by the abdomen....That caused all of the bleeding...One in the chest...and one in the right temple...which probably caused his death..."said Dr. Hazel Baylor, Deputy Coroner.

"His body is cold, stiff.. Rigor is setting in....I'd say he's been dead since noon yesterday...a good twelve hours." said Dr. Marcy Templeton, also a deputy coroner.

''Somebody was pretty angry at this guy, to shoot him that many times.."said Detective Sgt. Brice, leaning down and observing the multiple gunshot wounds on the body... "Nobody heard a thing Lieutenant," he added.

"The shooter probably used a gun with a silencer. Heyyyyy, I know this guy....He used to be a Private Investigator...He got his license pulled over a year ago.. His name is Maxwell Roach...I suspect he was still trying to act as a P.I.  ,probably doing a little blackmailing since that's what got his license pulled before..He's lucky he didn't go to jail for extortion."said Lt. Tragg, who had on latex gloves and was inspecting the body.

"This room was registered to a  Mrs. Sabrina Elba...It had been paid for in advance by her a month ago..Today would have been her last day. I don't know what this guy was doing with the keys.."said 

Detective Sgt. Brice. He found a zip drive and a laptop..

"Hmmmmmmm, I think my guy was still in the blackmailing business...We won't know until we scrub this computer....Brice, take it to the lab boys...Okay girls...get him out of here....and get me the autopsy report as soon as possible...Although we know what this guy died of...Lead Poisoning, heh heh heh,."laughed Lt. Tragg,

Both Marcy Templeton and Hazel Baylor, grown women, Doctors...hated being referred to as "Girls" by Lt. Tragg,., but nevertheless instructed the guys to place Max 's body in a body bag and strap it to a gurney and wheel him out of the room..

Wheeling his remains to it's final destination.

JOSIE'S BAR AND GRILL , FRIDAY NIGHT

It was that rare Friday Night we weren't at the No I.D. Bar...but instead at Josies...Our neighborhood bar and the place where most of us first hung out..

They had five D.J.'s Working tonight...The young people loved it.. They were on the floor working up a sweat dancing all night..

''Wow, every night should be like this." said Beverly..

"I hope they save some drinks for us at the table." said her husband, Nelson...

"Hey we deserve a night like this...we've been working hard." said Josie.

"Yes you have." agreed her husband, Paris as they line danced..

''Wouuuuuuu." said a jubilant Bresha, spinning around.

"Damn girl you look good when I spin you around..."said her husband, Tony...

"They're missing us at the No I.D. Bar tonight." said Keith Jones..

"I know, but we'll be there tomorrow morning for Brunch..." said Bee Bee.

"And back here again tomorrow night to hear that singer and see her band.." said Sofia..

"Yeah that should be nice." said Kahlil. 

''Somebody tell Gus to do this every week.."laughed Jazzy.
 

"They got a suggestion box..I'll throw the suggestion in."laughed her husband Dabnis.

"All this dancing does tend to let some tension off.." said Kayla..

"Yeah, but it's making me hella thirsty." said her husband, Ray...

"Well in a few minutes ,I'll be heading towards our table."said Jessica.

They had a big table along side of ours.

"Yeah, me too!"said her husband, Chip.

Soon the D.J. was playing a slow song....

Natalie laid her head into her husband David's chest and they danced slowly as the others headed for their table...

David held Natalie gently and they slow danced...

Brooke  laid her head into her husband Sean's chest and they danced slowly also..

Sean was in heaven, dancing with Brooke.

The same was true with Renee....They were all newly weds...Brooke  laid her head into her husband Tyrell's chest and they danced slowly too!

Tyrell held her tightly and swerved with the music..

While us older guys were sitting at a table enjoying our drinks..

"Awwwwww they all look so cute."said Olivia.

"Newlyweds." I said.

"Yeah , they do look cute." said Yvette..

"And on that note, would you join me on the dance floor Mrs. Lockwood." said Gary  as he and Yvette and Olivia and I joined the other three couples..

"I'm enjoying the music and the drinks and just being here with you."said Zoey,looking dreamily into Lem's eyes...

"And I with you.."said Lem...

Karen and B.L. also joined us on the floor, dancing to some slow music..

"Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm Mrs. Benz!" B.L. Moaned softly...

"Ouuuuuu these drinks got me tipsy..." said Alfreda, lying her head on Rockland's shoulders...

Rockland put his arms around her and rocked her softly....

"They're missing us at the NO I.D. Bar tonight."said Virginia softly...

"They'll see us in the morning." said her husband, Jetty...

Soon everybody was back at their tables... enjoying their drinks..

Our hard working cop friends, Lt. Sissy Van Buren, her husband, Eddie C,, Our neighbors, Lt. Danny Ho and Jade, Carlotta and ADA Keith Wallace, Detectives Tyriq and Sirena Pile, Jimmy Barlow, his wife, Angela Belton,Detective Tony Hopkins and his wife and my wife's old law school buddy, now Regional FBI/ATF Special Agent in Charge, Sharon Hopkins and Detective Duke Baylor and his wife, Dr. Hazel Baylor were all sitting a table behind us..enjoying drinks and rhe music,..

"This is nice...We haven't all been out as a group in awhile." said Sissy..

"Yeah...nice to see the bar crowded with all of our friends." said her husband, Eddie C.

"Josie's is the one place we can all party together." said Danny Ho, who joined them...

His wife Jade was sitting with him...

"Danny, you and your wife are lucky...You and Jade live close enough to walk home..We have to drive."joked Carlotta.

"Not that far..." said her husband, ADA Keith Wallace.

Tyriq and Sirena were sitting in a corner, quietly drinking and talking..... 

So was Jimmy and Angie...

and Hop and Sharon....

"I hope you're not busy picking up dead bodies Monday night baby...There is going to be a Singer here and a comedian." said Duke..

"Oh My God....I hope I don't miss it...."said his wife, Dr. Hazel Baylor.

The joint was jumpin as they say....

~Our former client , Dustion Elba and his wife, Sabrina Elba were also there...They walked over to our table..

"My dear, these are my former attorneys, Olivia Bennett-Alexander, and her husband, Donnie Ray...

I see everybody is all spread out around here." said Dustin..

"Hello." said Sabrina.

''Well Helllllo Dustin! I see you caught up with your wifey.."laughed Olivia..

"Yesss finally!" he laughed.

"Hello Dustin, Mrs. Elba." I said.

"Hello, nice to finally meet you all." said Sabrina.

An hour later in the ladies restroom...

"Ms. Olivia...I uh don't usually follow people into the restroom, but I needed to talk to you, out of the ear shot of my husband...I think I'm going to need your help.." said Sabrina Elba..."And I would like to keep this very confidential." she said and wrote a check for $500.00 dollars. "Will this be enough for a retainer?" she asked..

''Whoa, wait a minute....Yes...buit a retainer for what?" asked Olivia.

"I was being blackmailed Ms. Olivia... by a sleazy Private Investigator named Maxwell Roach.." said Sabrina.

"I know him...I've dealt with him before....I heard he got his license revoked...You want me to draw up a cease and desist letter?" asked Olivia.

"They'll be no need for that...He's dead!!!...Somebody shot him to death in a hotel room yesterday, a room that I had rented and that he commandeered...I was coming to bring him the money he asked for, 50 large in hundreds and twenties...and I found him on the floor...He had been shot multiple times...I got out of there as quick as possible...I have the zip drive he was blackmailing me with...I'll bring it to you Monday...but I feel he has another one out there...and if it gets in the hands of the police or worse my husband, I'm toast. Please say you'll help me." she said.

"Okay...Okay...your secret is safe with me... Come see me Monday..."said Olivia, rubbing her hands softly....She could see she was scared....

They both walked out into Josie's ..it was still packed..

Nina and her boyfriend, Carlos had driven over to Josie's to join in the fun...

Just another Friday Night at Josie's Bar and grill....

MONDAY MORNING-

Sabrina Elba was a beautiful woman...She appeared to have a pleasing personality....She arrived on time as she said she would, right after we finished eating breakfast....

"This Zip drive will explain to you the trouble I am in." she explained as she slipped it

into the lap top on our desk.

 "Start it up, we are all eyes and ears" said Olivia, unaware of what we were in store for..

The beautiful wife of our client, Dustin Elba, Sabrina Elba was waiting for him...Her husband had headed out to lunch with us, unaware that his wife was a floor below us...in a room she had rented...wearing only an Aqua Blue silk bathrobe and some royal blue panties underneath...

"I couldn't wait..I was getting ready to come up just like this." said Sabrina Elba...

"Yeah right....Your husband would have loved that."laughed Jerome Malcolm...taking her into his arms and kissing her passionately...He found her irresistible....

"Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm" he moaned..

"Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu" she cooed.

Funny how these two got together....He was representing the man her husband was having a dispute with....

They met, they exchanged glances and later phone numbers and soon were sneaking and meeting in hotels around the city all during this latest litigation.

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH......OHHHHHH MY GOD!!!" he cried out during a passionate kiss..

"Get your clothes off." she demanded..."My husband, is all business, meetings, negotiations, not like you." she said.

"I'm about business too...the business of getting you in the bed." he said..

"OUUUUUUUUUUU I LIKE THAT KIND OF BUSINESS!" she said in between more passionate kisses.

He wasted no time getting his clothes off

and slipping her panties down......

"OH MY GOD!!! AWWWWWWWWWWWW LAWWWWWWD! LOOK AT THIS...." he cried out....

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMM I WAS READY FOR YOUUUUU!" she moaned..

They lie across the bed, kissing and practically slobbering over each other...

She opened her legs and straddled him... and began riding him cowgirl style..

She continued to ride him.....

SALIVA DROOLED DOWN HER MOUTH AND HER EYES SEEMED TO GO INTO THE BACK OF HER HEAD!!!

HIS BODY WAS TREMBLING ALSO.......HE COULDN'T GET ENOUGH OF HER!!

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMM!" he moaned..

"OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDDD JEROME!!!! UMMMMMMMMM!"she cooed...

As they made sweet love for the next NINE TO TEN HOURS, taking the entire afternoon off...

He lie on his back, knocked out....While she lie on his chest, totally satisfied, about to doze off herself...

Both unaware that a micro video camera had recorded their entire afternoon tryst.... 

"Oh My God!  Jerome Malcom, the opposing counsel and you, the wife of our client were sleeping together." said Olivia.

 

''And you didn't know you were being recorded...Do you think he had anything to do with this?" I asked.

"No, he doesn't have a clue...I suspect he was going to be the next Blackmail victim...He had a laptop and I suspect more blackmail victims.." said Sabrina.

"At least we know why Jerome was ducking out right after our meetings ended...  And you were two floors beneath us all that time eh?" said Beverly with a wicked smile..

"You have that zip drive....but if I know right...He had another one..and a laptop full of dirt on other people....If he had that in that room...The police probably have it in their custody right now."said Nelson.

''And that's a bad thing...You are probably going to be visited by the police soon...." said Josie.

"It's been a few days...You said this guy commandeered your room, a room you rented."said Bresha.

"I rented and paid for that room a month ago...I was stunned when Jerome told me you guys would be

having your litigation in the conference room just two floors above us. Jerome thought it was funny...I was a bit nervous about running into my husband..." said Sabrina.

"Wow little lady, you really like playing dangerously..." said Alfreda with a look of caution and a bit of fear.

"You are to say nothing and I mean nothing about this to anyone...If you are taken into custody, yopu exercise your right to remain silent...You use your one call to call us...We'll be down...We'll get you arraigned and we'll keep this from your husband as best we can." said Olivia.

 

"If I know right...He has a safe deposit box, in which he kept all of his records in...He's too smart to have kept them on him... I'm going to start looking for that box..My guess is whoever killed him is searching for that box too!" I said.

"We've got to get on that fast." said Beverly.....

"All we can do is wait...So far nothing has happened." said Nelson.

Yeah but it is...The other shoe is going to drop soon." said Josie.

''WOWWWW!"said Bresha.

"Well you were smart...You got legal help before anything happens.." said Alfreda.

IV-

And so...We began the week , with a new case and waiting for that other shoe to drop..

Reed Nelson, Bone Hampton, Kerry "88" Moore and myself  were all on stage, playing..

I was performing

And B-Flat...

Josie's was packed Saturday and Sunday Night, but tonight, Monday Night..A lot of of our friends were not in attendance.. They would be here Monday Night...

Singer, Ella Taylor performed Sunday Night and Monday Night...

Olivia was there tonight, watching me....and clapping for me...

After my set, I walked down to where she was sitting..

We kissed passionately...

for a few minutes...

"Ummm how are you? I haven't seen much of you since this morning." said Olivia.

"I know...I was on the street...I haven't located his safe deposit box....I couldn't get to his apartment..The police have it sealed and they have a man on the door and get this....Lt. Tragg has the zip drive and his laptop...People are going to be visited and soon." I said.

"Then we can expect a phone call soon." said Olivia, taking my arm... "Come on...let's get out of here." said Olivia as we left Josie's arm and arm and walked home..

A light rain fell as the two of us walked home.

We went home...

Alone in our bedroom...

"Looks like we got a case and on a fun week like this..."said Olivia.

"And next week...nothing." I said..

"Welll....ouuuuuuuuuuuu there is definitely something going on in your trousers.,,ouuuuu" said Olivia as we kissed and undressed..

"Yes it is..." I said...

I unhooked her pretty bra

and matching panties....

and rolled her over, entering her slowly and softly....She was so soft, so wet ,so warm and so baby soft..

I was near delirium...

The Morning found new developments.

Sabrina Elba found herself being arrested for First Degree Murder by Lt. Tragg,,

As her bewildered husband, 

Dustin Elba stood bewildered....

and at a Safe Deposit box in midtown-

a small explosion destroys the safe deposit box and the contents within, belonging to deceased former private investigator, Max Roach.
