 ONE WEEK LATER-

THE OFFICE OF STATES ATTORNEY TANYA MOSLEY

States attorney Tanya Mosley left Olivia and Beverly's basement and returned to her office and her home.

She continued to be dogged by questions about her personal life..

"HOW LONG HAVE YOU AND SPECIAL PROSECUTOR, Greg Garland BEEN SLEEPING TOGETHER?" asked a reporter.

"HAVE YOU TWO GONE ON ANY OTHER VACATIONS TOGETHER?" asked another reporter.

"Did  Mr. Garland pay for your vacation with Public Funds Ms. Mosley?" asked another reporter.. "Are you two planning to get married?" ,asked a female reporter , "How Long have you two been canoodling/" asked another reporter.

"Is it true you two met in Atlanta during the Black Lawyers Consortium and have been a couple since then?"asked another reporter.

"WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE US THE SCOOP ON YOUR RELATIONSHIP?" asked yet another reporter...

"NO COMMENT!  NO COMMENT!!  THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE JOB I AM TRYING TO DO AS STATE'S ATTORNEY!" said Tanya as she walked off of the podium.

"THAT'S IT PEOPLE...NO MORE COMMENTS TODAY!" said Attorney Linda Gorman.

"WE HAVE REAL WORK TO DO." said Attorney Alvin Davis ushering the press out of her office.

Life goes on  and Lawyers life goes on at that... I lent my talents to Attorneys, Dabnis Coley, Ray St. Jacques, Tyrell Jones and Tony Billips...

We worked on and tried a successful case in city court.

My wife , Beatrice lent her talents to Attorney's Jasmine Coley, Kaya Bennett-St. Jacques, Zoey and Lem Easter and Renee Jones.

Also in City Court, during the same time....

And in Immigration Court...Sofia and Kahlil ,along with Innocence Project Attorneys,Jessica Sanchez-Burrows and her husband, Charles "Chip" Burrows and Women's Law Project Staff Attorney, Nina Rios successfully helped Sonia Lopez get her American Citizenship...

Ms. Jade, Ms. Yvette and Ms. Virginia was there to celebrate Sonia's citizenship......

In addition , Olivia Bennett-Alexander, Donnie Ray Alexander, Beverly West-East, Nelson East, Josie Boyd and Bresha Billips were there too to join in the celebration.. 

 

A  WEEK LATER-

Reunited as a team for the first time in weeks , we found ourselves working once again with Federal Public defender, Sean Marks on a criminal case in Federal District court..

 

 

Also aiding else was  Karen Page and her Wrongful Conviction/Conviction Integrity Attorneys,

Karen Page, Natalie Charles, her husband ,David Charles and Sean's wife, Brooke Marks.

Another successful courtroom outing...

Yes Life goes on and lawyers life as well...

"Mr. Wade Flemming has been indicted on multiple counts and trial will begin on Tuesday of Next week gentleman." said Special Prosecutor, Gregory Garland.

"Is it true that this is your first prosecution? " asked a reporter.. "Isn't it true that you have basically been a litigator and have very little trial experience?" Is it true that you got this assignment as a favor from YOUR LOVER, State's Attorney Tanya Mosley??" asked yet another attorney.

"I have been practicing law for many years now...I have an IVY LEAUGE Degree..My reputation speaks for itself..I was given this job on the merit of my experience, not as some favor as you suggest and that is all I plan to say about it.." he said and ended the press conference..

''Are you two still seeing each other?  "Are you two planning to get married?"  "When did you two get together?"  came the questions...

"NO COMMENT!! GOOD DAY FOLKS!" said Greg Garland who refused to answer anymore questions.

II-

The New OFFICE OF BERT VANDENBERG, PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR-

P.I. Bert Vandenberg walked into his office only to see a man he did not know sitting at his desk in his chair.. he was asleep and snoring...

"HEYYYYYY WHO THE HELL ARE YOU AND WHAT IN SAM HILL ARE YOU DOING IN MY DAMN OFFICE?" he cried out.

The man, Milton Lewis woke up suddenly...He was startled..

"Oh Heyyyyy,Heyyyy ,Heyyyyy...I'm sorry...I was waiting here for you and you took so long to come, I guess I dozed off... The name is Lewis, Milton Lewis..I'm a P.I. too just like you, only I don't have anything nearly this nice...wowww! I've got to step up, get some better clients." said Milton Lewis.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?" snarled an angry Bert Vandenberg... He had recently paid close to $1000.00 dollars for four new tires for his sports car and had lost track of both Tanya Mosley and Greg Garland a few weeks ago and told recently by the two high powered attorneys he worked for that his services would no longer be needed.. He was not in the best of moods lately.

"This is a cease and desist order for both Tanya Mosley and Gregory Garland...you aren't to go within 100 feet of  either of them...." said Milton Lewis, passing him the two orders...

"And this is a subpoena.....asking you to appear in court for this hearing , regarding Tanya Mosley and Gregory Garland." he said.

"That's fine by me..." he said.. He went into his file drawer..

He tossed a roll of film to Milton.

"Give that to whoever hired you... I suspect I know... Tell em that's the negatives of all of the photos I took...There are worse photos that could've come out...Now that you have em, they won't." he said.

"Whoever you were working for must have really pissed you off." laughed Milton Lewis. 

That same afternoon.... Bee Bee and I, Sofia and Kahlil and our neighbors, Jessica and Chip were at the supermarket, shopping..

''We could have had dinner at work, but I felt like a nice intimate home cooked meal tonight." said Bee Bee.

''I did too!" I said.

"Yeah, it hasn't been just us four in close quarters for awhile. With all of those cases we were working on." said Sofia.

''Sqaud Deep!"laughed Kahlil.

"Thank you for inviting me and my hubby. " said Jessica Sanchez-Burrows.

"Yeah Thanks...And thanks for helping us get Sonia her citizenship." said her husband, Chip.

"You guys are like the unofficial members of our squad." I said..

"The Squad inside of the Larger group that is our neighborhood." said Jessica, who was over the moon living across the street from Olivia and Beverly and down the street from all of us....

"Exactly." said Sofia... She and Bee Bee liked our big neighborhood and all of our neighbors too!

"Yupper" said Bee Bee...

"We got everything we need?" let's head to the register." said Kahlil..

We gathered up the last of our things and headed toward the cash register.

We decided to cook that meal at Sofia and Kahlil's house..

The ladies got comfortable and fixed Pot Roast and Carrots....

We had a pitcher of Ice Tea to wash it down.

''Everything smells delicious." I said,

''Just Us six tonight huh? No Jade or Danny?" asked Chip.

"Nah, Danny is working...and Jade got a call and left the office before we did." said Kahlil.

"No Ms. Yvette or Gary either?" asked Chip..

"Husband, you ask too many questions." said his wife, Jessica as we all sat down to eat..

Bee Bee looked at Sofia and laughed..

"They decided tonight would be a nice night for date night." said Bee Bee.

Sofia laughed.. 

It was a nice mellow night...

THAT  NIGHT-

The view was fantastic....The night was unseasonably warm...

Ms. Yvette, Attorney Yvette Jones-Lockwood...our supervisor and Managing Partner at our law firm was looking as sultry and sexy as ever...A fact not lost on her husband,

Gary Lockwood, an Investigator with the District Attorney's Office..

"Vettie is it me or do you look extra sexy tonight..?" he asked..

"It's you.... You want to make extra sure you get some tonight..but go ahead...Flattery will get you somewhere..."said Yvette..she flashed a devilish grin , he found very sexy.

Gary loved Yvette's dry sense of humor...She was right though and at the same time..She was sexy..as sexy as could be..

He kept staring at her....

The Mango Martini she ordered arrived...

For him, Cognac....

The view from Penns Landing was fabulous...It was a great night.. They weren't far from the building she worked in.

Yvette kissed Gary slowly and softly...

 ''Does this mean I'm going to get some?" he asked ,smiling raffishly...

"Oh you know you are...I always give you some, don't I ? After a week like I've had, I need some myself." Yvette whispered...

"Well you guys have wrapped up all of the cases you've been involved with...How is Tanya doing?" he asked.

in between slower and softer kisses.....

" We stopped Bryce  Barnes and Wallace Payton from running off at the mouth and we even stopped Bert Vanderberg's harrassment of them, but the damage is already done, the public has seen the photos, they know they're involved, even if no one comments and the closer we get to the trial...The more it looks like they have something to hide , like his job was a romantic favor...Our hearing is coming up, just a few days before the trial is set to begin.....I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop." she cooed.

They continued kissing passionately...

You couldn't ask for a better afternoon.....

A nice date....a nice view.....It was however the calm before the storm that was just on the horizon.

All that drinking and kissing led back to a drive to Gary and Yvette's home.

and more kissing in their living room..

"Mmmmmmm thanks for tonight...The food was delish and those drinks...wow..They got me tipsy..."whispered Yvette in between more slow, soft kisses...

''And hopefully horny!" he said, smiling raffishly..

''A little" Yvette giggled.

"Just a little? I'm very horny.." he said..

"No surprise there. You're always very horny...My goodness."laughed Yvette...

Gary helped her out of her dress...and pantyhose and stiletto heels...and continued to kiss her passionately....

She helped him out of his suit, socks and shoes....he slipped her panties down.

"Ouuuuuuuu...I'm about to get it aren't I?" asked Yvette, smiling..looking at the huge bulge in his boxers and smiling..."

"Yesss indeed!"said Gary, kissing Yvette softly...

She took him by the hand and led him to their bedroom.. He laid her across the bed and entered her slowly...

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...UMMMMMMMMMMMMM!" she cooed..

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Gary.....you don't make any sense being this hard and this huge...Were you like this all night?" she whispered in a childish voice..

''All night.???.ALL DAY!!!" he said in his deep baritone....

"Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.." she cooed..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU GARY, PUT IT ON ME!" she moaned..

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH VETTIE! UMMMMMMMMMMMMM" he moaned as the bed moved with their every move..

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM GARY!" Yvette cooed.

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU GIRRRRRRRRRl" Gary moaned, near delirium!

"Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Gary.....Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. you are sooo hard...ouuuuuuu" she moaned..

as the bed began to move with the weight of their bodies..

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Yvette....you make me that wayyy...ouuuuuuu" he moaned......

"Ouuuuu you like it daddy?" she asked...

The bed was squeaking out of control... "Ohhhhhhhhhhh my god...baby..you are so soft, so wet." Gary cried out!

EIGHT TO NINE HOURS smoothly passed by as they made love under the moonlight...

We had a nice meeting with our client and friend, Gregory Garland...

"Vettie you really know to lay out a spread." said Gregory Garland.

"Our Hearing is Monday ...We are going to clear all of this up... Rollie is back from California and he will clear all of this up and you can on with your prosecution." said Yvette.

Gregory spread some cream cheese on a bagel and took a sip of coffee....

"This is a career defining case." he said. "I can't wait." he said as he munched on a bagel and took a healthy sip of coffee..

"WOW! History in the making." I said.

"If you get a chance, stop by...You guys could learn something." said Greg laughing.

"That sounds like something we may take you up on." said Bee Bee.

"You win this case and that will be another feather in Tanya's cap....Her office has had several wins this year and the year is still young." said Sofia.

''She has great people management skills ...She knows how to put the right people in the right places." said Kahlil.

Jade and Sofia were munching on Churros..

"What is that you two are eating? It smells sweet,like cinnamon..." said Greg.

"Churros...Try one..." said Bee Bee.

"Mmmmmmmmmm goood!" said Greg.

"Have you talked to Tanya?" asked Yvette.

"NO!  Not in a week...Not since we left Olivia's place...I've called her office and have been told she's not in or on another line...I've called her at home and her phone has gone to voicemail...

"I wouldn't worry about that....She's still being bombarded by questions about your vacation together and your relationship....She's keeping a low pro." said Virginia.

"Yeah I wouldn't worry" said Ms. Yvette...but I could look at her face and  tell, there wasn't much conviction.

IV-

It was a rainy Thursday Night....

But everybody came out especially since Tanya was treating...She had said she wanted to do something  nice for us...and here it was... An Asian Fusion Restaraunt and Bar, Not too far from where we all worked..

 We had two long wooden tables ....At the first table was Tanya, Alvin and Linda and her new hire, Cheryl Williams...Also at the table was Ms. Yvette, her husband, Gary, Myself, Bee Bee, Sofia, Kahlil, Jade and Danny and Virginia and Jetty, Sitting across from us was Olivia, Donnie Ray, Beverly, Nelson, Josie and Paris, Bresha and Tony and Alfreda and Rockland.

"I know the weather is atrocious tonight, all this rain....but I'm glad you all came out...You are my dear dear friends and I can't forget your kindness...So Eat, Drink and enjoy tonight..

"Enjoy!  from the smell of the food, I know I am." said  Alvin...

"I love Asian Fusion food." said Linda.

''Everybody this is my new hire...she was presently with the U.S. Attorney's Office and before that she was a Public Defender and an Assistant District Attorney in Cherry Hill, with a few stops at some heavy hitting law firms...Ms. Cheryl Williams."said Tanya.

"Hello I'm pleased to meet you all...Some of you I've heard of...Like You Ms. Yvette and Olivia.. I've followed your careers." said Cheryl Williams..

 

 "Wow!  I got a career now....Pleased to meet you Cheryl." said Ms. Yvette. "This is my husband, Gary Lockwood." she said.

"Pleased to meet you." said Gary...

"Pleased to make your acquaintance." I said. She was very attractive.

"Hello, pleased to meet you." said Bee Bee.

"Pleased to meet you." said Sofia.

"Pleased to meet you." said Kahlil.

"Hello." said Jade.

"Hello, pleased to meet you." said Danny.

"I remember you from a few years back." said Virginia, hoping she wouldn't bring up her being disbarred and incarcerated...Everyone here knew it..but she still hated it coming up.

"Hello pleased to meet you." said Jetty.

"And You....You certainly need no introduction....I graduated from High School with you....You went to the State Championships for swimming...Olivia Bennett..How are you?" said Cheryl.

"Oh my Godddd , Cheryl...How have you been?  " said Olivia, who remembered her....

 

"This restaurant is all that....I'll have tot ell my friends in the house band at Josie's about this place."said Donnie Ray.

"You're slipping Donnie Ray, this is two restaurants we've been to, that you didn't know about " joked Beverly, who always said Donnie Ray was the consummate foodie.

"This is a nice place I like it." said Nelson.

"I like it too!  A Thursday Night.. Nor Arthur Tragg, no tension in the air...What could be better?" said Josie.

"Curley misses our revenue."laughed Paris.

"I wonder who Lt. Tragg pesters when we aren't around?" asked Bresha.

"Not us....That's for sure."laughed her husband,Tony...

"Ummmmmmm they are bringing out the food and domestic brews like you like." said Alfreda.

"Yesssssssssss." said her husband Rockland as the food came out..

At the table behind us was Jazzy, her husband, Dabnis, Kayla, her husband, Ray, Jessica , her husband, Chip,Newlyweds, Karen and B.L. , Natalie, Her husband, David, Brooke, her husband ,Sean, Zoey and her husband, Lem and Renee and Tyrell...

"Ohhhhhh look at this...." said Jazzy as the hot food arrived at their table also..
 

"Man I'm famished." said her husband, Dabnis.

"Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuu it looks delish." said Kayla.

"Jade you've got to show us how to eat this."joked Ray...

"This is Cambodian and Vietnamese food... I'm Chinese, remember?" laughed Jade.

''So we are discovering this good food together." said Jessica.

"Ummmmmmm looks good."said Chip.

"Yes it does.."said Karen.

"Well Dig in everybody...there is enough food for everybody.." said B.L.

"So Much food, I'm glad we skipped Dinner in the cafeteria  tonight." said Natalie.

"I am too!" said David.

"Ummmmmmmmmmmm this is so good." said Brooke.

"This place is sooo close to where we work and I never knew it existed." said  Sean.

"Maybe when it gets warm, we can all come down here for lunch." said Zoey.

"Sounds like a plan."said Lem.

"This is so nice...I love being a part of this friend group." said Renee.

"So do I.." said her husband, Tyrell.

The Good Hot Food and plentiful drinks was spread out amongst both tables...We were famished and we all dug in chowed down...

It was a great night...A Thursday Night that we once again weren't at Curleys and didn't have to worry about Lt. Tragg crashing our party and whining and complaining and trying to trigger us or getting into a fight with somebody...It was a peaceful night of Eating, Drinking and fellowship....

The rain raged outside, while we sat inside, dry and warm , talking,laughing and enjoying food and drink.

"You know something Sofia, Who is missing from this picture?" asked Bee Bee.

"Gregory!!!" said Sofia, as we ate...

"You think he was omitted by design?" asked Kahlil.

"I don't know...but he was at our office complaining about not seeing her since they left Olivia and Beverly's place and not being able to get her on the phone."said Bee Bee.

"You think she's ghosting him?" I asked.,

''She might be." said Bee Bee.

"Or just putting some distance between them until after the hearing and the Wade Flemmings trial." said Sofia.

We were all very quiet...We said no more about the matter the rest of the night.
