Ellie May made two phone calls before her phone was taken away..

One was to the Assistant Manager of her Coffee Shoppe, telling her to take over for the day...and the other was to Yvette...Which she heard the next morning when she woke up. 

WEDNESDAY MORNING! -Yvette's Routine

Gary Lockwood, Investigator for the D.A.'s Office and husband of Ms. Yvette was working today..He had already taken his shower and put on a fresh fragrance.

He sat in the kitchen sipping his coffee and watched his wife, Yvette Jones-Lockwood, Attorney at law and our supervisor run through her routine...Which was no different today than any other day..

She got out of bed..Made the bed up...

Took a nice hot shower.. with a sweet and fresh smelling body wash, Lotioned down, put on a heavenly fragrance.. New Panties and Bra...

and proceeded to get dressed..

Put on a cute outfit...

Called her coffee order ahead and paid for it by phone.. She liked a particular brand of coffee.. Not that coffee at her new building's cafeteria was bad, but coffee at this  place down the street from where she worked was really good..

"Another relaxing train ride today." she said to Gary..

"You really like that train ride don't you?" asked Gary, smiling. He usually drove to work.

"I do...It's very relaxing...It's not going to stop me from driving...but I do find it relaxing...for the time being." laughed Yvette.

and then she kissed Gary softly for three minutes. Gary didn't want to let her go.

''Okay Gary, you gotta let me go now." she giggled, slipping out of his embrace..She loved that Gary loved her and desired her so much!

.before applying her lipstick and hurrying out the door..

''See ya Babes.. Love You!" she said.

"Yeahhhh, see ya..Love you too!" said Gary...Who was more than aroused by that soft kiss from Yvette...

Ms. Yvette walked out of her door..

Yvette Jones -Lockwood, Managing Partner at  McCluskey/Cozen/Connor & Pratt , Office 2 in Philadelphia PA.

"Hola Ms. Yvette." said Jessica Sanchez-Burrows, her next door neighbor and an attorney who worked in her building.

"Hey Yvette" said Jessica's husband, Charles "Chip" Burrows, also an attorney who works in her building.. They both work for the Innocence Project, a floor down. They moved into the new building just two days before Yvette and her staff.

"Hey Guys" said Ms. Yvette..

She was greeted by the five of us...Her staff and her neighbors on the other side of her,

Myself, Attorney Keith Jones

My wife, Attorney Beatrice Evans-Jones

Our good friends, Attorney Sofia Garcia - Ahmed..

Her husband, Kahlil Ahmed

and our investigator, Jade Lee-Ho..

We all worked for her at McCluskey/Cozen/Connor & Pratt

Our neighbor Attorney Josie Boyd, who worked across the street at Olivia Bennett-Alexander and Beverly West's law office..along with Olivia's husband, Investigator, Donnie Ray Alexander and Attorney Nelson East

Josie kissed her husband, Paris...

"Byeeee see you tonight baby!" she cooed.

''See ya babes." said Paris.

Our other neighbors, Kayla, Olivia and Beverly's cousin, also an attorney who worked in our building and her husband

, Ray, also an attorney in our building and 

 Dabnis Coley, also an attorney in our building

 and his wife,  Jasmine "Jazzy" Coley, also an attorney in our building joined us as we walked toward the train station, two blocks away.. We all worked in the same building and live on the same street...Some would say that's too much togetherness...but we all like each other and hang out socially at clubs, roller skating rinks, restaurants et al and in and out of each other's homes.

Attorney Bresha Billips, who also worked across the street with Olivia and Beverly

Kissed her husband goodbye.. She lives down the street.

"Byyyye Baby" she whispered seductively...

"Bye sexy" said her husband, Attorney Tony Billips , who also worked in our building and rode with us..

"Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu Rockland.....Ummm..." she moaned. He knew how to kiss a woman, she thought..He always had...Which was how he had charmed his way into her bed several years ago and eventually her heart,

''Alfreda, we're acting like twenty somethings.."said Rockland in between kisses..

"I feel like a twenty something in the bed with you." she said, which worked wonders for his ego.

Alfreda waved...

 

"Gotta go now." she said

She was walking across the street to Olivia and Beverly's Office/Duplex where she'd join Josie and Bresha.

 and her husband, Rockland would be riding to work with us..His  neighbors..

"Good Morning Rockland." said Jazzy.

"Good Morning, Welcome to the neighborhood counselor." said Dabnis.

"Good Morning Rockland." said Kayla..

'Mornin Neighbor."said Ray.

"Good Morning Mr. Rockland." said Tony.

"Good Morning Rockland." said Yvette.

"Heyyyy Guys." he said. He had jousted with a lot of them in fierce court battles in the past...but now considered them all friends...

"Good Morning!" I said.

"Good Morning, welcome to the morning commute."said my wife Bee Bee smiling.

"Gooood Morning papi." said Sofia.

"Good Morning." said Kahlil.

"Good Morning." said Jade.

Our first big case had been against him...He was a good and tenacious adversary, taught us a lot.

''Hola." said Jessica, who had squared off against him many times...and had once despised him...She had buried the hatchet and welcomed him into the fold now..basically because she loved Ms. Alfreda and if Ms. Alfreda loved him enough to marry him, he couldn't be all bad she reasoned.

"Good Morning." said her husband, Chip.

''Morning."said Josie's husband, Paris.

Renee layed her head in her husband's arms...

Tyrell held her gently and laid back...

Karen addressed her staff , who were already on the train..

"Hey Guys and Gals." she said.

''Heyyyyyyyy Boss Lady!"said Natalie.

"Hi Karen." said David.

"Heyyyyyy Boss Lady!" said Brooke.

"Good Morning Karen, everybody." said Sean.

"Good Morning Everybody." said Zoey.

"Morning." said Lem.

And at the next station...The last three members of our crew got on, Attorneys , Nina Diaz, her husband, Carlos Diaz and Attorney Lee Phillips.

"Good Morning Everybody." said Nina.

"What's up guys?" said Carlos..

"Heyyy everybody." said Lee.

The train rumbled on towards town and the building where we all worked or to say it more accurately..

The Street we all worked on.

Unlike the others...We didn't get off at The Bridge Building, We kept riding into town... We had an appointment with our client at Central Booking.

II-

In The Fishbowl...The nickname the Detectives gave to their interrogation room...

a hot cup of coffee sat in front of her....

After making her two phone calls....Ellie Mays said nothing...Nothing at all.

"Ohhhhh stubborn eh?  Well Little Lady, you're in a lot of trouble....I've got two eyeball witnesses who say that you and your husband and another one of his girlfriends had violent confrontations weeks ago and one who swears she saw you running away from the room after multiple gunshots were heard... And I've got men searching the waste recepticles at the Marriot and in your aparment looking for the gun and when I find it...YOU'RE COOKED!" said Lt. Tragg.

Ellie Mays stared at him in wonderment...She couldn't believe he thought he was intimidating her..  She had been here close to Eight Hours...She was Hungry, thirsty and very tired.

 

 "And until then...you continue to say nothing!" said Yvette.

"VETTIE!   YOU'RE HER ATTORNEY???" asked an astonished Lt. Tragg. He had no idea she knew Yvette. He expected a Public Defender.

"I am...I represented her years ago in a Civil Suit...when I was a young attorney...She had a feeling you might try to charge her with killing her husband and his girlfriend so she reached out....And here I am."said Yvette with a smile.

"Here you are!"laughed Lt. Tragg sarcastically...

"Could we have the room for a minute?" I asked..

"We brought you some hot coffee! We figured you could use it."said Bee Bee.

"Oh My God!  I love you!" said Ellie, pouring a cup and drinking the coffee..

Lt. Tragg walked out of the room and slammed the door.

"And some bottled water too!" said Sofia.

"And I hope you like an Egg McMuffin." said Kahlil.

"Oh My God Vettie, Can I adopt them?   I Love them!" said Ellie as she drank the coffee with us and quaffed down the cold water and gobbled the Egg McMuffin.

Yvette laughed..

"Sorry , they're not for sale...Now you stay quiet in here...Don't talk to anybody...No Cops, No detectives and certainly no fellow inmates...Everybody is looking to trade information for a deal..

You Dummy up! We are going to try and get you out of here."said Yvette.

"Bee Bee, Sofia and I contacted everybody on your charactor witness list...So you hang tough We are going to try and get you out." said Jade.

"I will and thanks for everything." said Ellie.

We filed out...If Lt. Tragg was listening and I'm sure he was..He didn't hear anything that could help him with his case.. 

 "I'm hungry...Let's go grab a bite at Sam Mother's."said Yvette.

"I was thinking the same thing...I don't feel like riding the train back to our building."I said.

"Me neither." said Bee Bee.

"That goes equal for me."said Sofia.

"Yeah me too, how bout you Jade?" said Kahlil.

"Lead the way ,I'll follow." said Jade.

COURTROOM D- TWO NIGHTS LATER- 8:30 PM

NIGHT COURT-

We were all in Night Court on this Thursday Night with our client...Ellie Mays, accused of a Horrific Double Murder..We were taking a chance... 

Lt. Tragg was not here tonight... Night court was too low profile for him...No witnesses...No media..and a bunch of  Judges  and ADA's who were mostly older Judges and ADA's about to retire...It was lightweight. It was in session from 7:00 pm- 10:00 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays...We were quite fortunate to get a date.

He had no idea Ellie Mays   was being arraigned tonight...He expected her to be arraigned tomorrow or the day after in open court.

The ADA that did show up was not going to be the ADA that tried the case...He had only the basic out line of the case at hand... He basically wanted to go home...So he didn't really put up much of a fight.

Well not much!

Ellie sat contritely in court...

Yvette argued eloquently that our client had no prior arrest or criminal record , was the Manager of a popular center city coffee shop and although she was going through a testy divorce with the victim..was certainly no killer...

Bee Bee piggy backed her argument, arguing that our client was vigourously awaiting her day in court to fight these egregious charges and was not a flight risk ,due to her connections to the community.

and I paraded in three charactor witnesses a piece...to testify to Ellie Mays quiet demeanor and non-violent charactor..Only one of our witnesses was a no show...

The Judge released her on her own recognizance.....without an ankle monitoring device..We had expected that at least considering she's on trial for not one, but two murders and it's a Capital Offense.

Standing in the back of the courtroom clapping was Attorney Jason Smith ,from our main office...

"Well Done, Well Done...I bow to you Yvette and your four talented contemporaries..." he said with a smile. "Hi Ellie." he said.

"Hi Jason." said Ellie.

"What are you doing here?" asked Jade.

"I came to watch the Master at work.....One of the partners told me that you are an expert at getting clients arraigned in Night Court and getting them released on their own recognizance...I thought...No way you're getting someone accused of a double homicide released and yet you did...Bravo.Bravo." said Jason Smith.

"It's not an exact science Jason...and we don't always win...A lot of times it depends on the client."said Yvette,.

"I know...White girl, raised in the suburbs , no criminal record has a much better chance than say a Black kid, or a Puerto Rican city kid....Yeah ,I know how it works...Race still plays a big part in these cases...It aint right, but here we are." said Jason Smith. "Sooo what are you guys into tonight...The night is still young eh?"he asked with a smile.

"It's couples night at Curleys...We are all stopping there for some cold ones... Ellie, I know you want to get home, get a shower and some shut eye... Shall we call you an UBER?" asked Yvette.

"No Need for that...I'll drive my ex-client home...And I'll see that she's by your office, First thing in the morning."said Jason..

"Ohhhh aren't you the helpful guy....Thank you Jason..." said Ms. Yvette.

"Thank you Jason and Yvette, Keith, Beatrice, Sofia ,Kahlil and Jade, thank you all for everything. I'll see you in the morning." said Ellie Mays.

THURSDAY NIGHT- CURLEY'S BAR- COUPLES NIGHT- 9:55 PM

There was plenty of cold delicious Drinks, Shrimp Baskets and Barbecued Chicken Wings..

 

 "We got here in just the nick of time.."said Yvette, sitting on her husband's waiting lap...

Gary passed her a Barbecued Wing and a glass of Beer..

''Awww Man, Shrimp Baskets and Barbecued Chicken, Nice." I said.

"That is...but I'm thirsty."said Bee Bee quaffing down a Martini..

"You said it Girlfriend." said Sofia, also quaffing down a Martini...

Kahlil, like me was busy munching on Shrimp and chicken...He had a cold beer beside him..

Jade smiled.. her husband, Danny had a Shrimp Basket waiting for her and her favorite Martini...

"We wondered if you guys would make it." he laughed.

"I knew they would...Did you get her out?" asked Virginia.

"Oh yeah..amd her divorce attorney Jason Smith was there to see us and applaud us."said Yvette.

"From the main office? Really?" said Virginia.

"I think he has more of an interest in her than just attorney /client...but I don't know."laughed Yvette.

"Talk about stretching the rules."said Jetty. 

"Heyyyy Vettie, Hey guys, glad you all could make it...They have Shrimp Baskets and Barbecue Chicken tonight." said Olivia.

"Yes, I see." said Yvette, smiling.

 

"By the looks on your faces you successfully got your client out of lockup." said Donnie Ray.

"Sure Did!"laughed Bee Bee.

"That's good...That's one less thing on your minds tonight." said Beverly.

"Yeah, we are just thinking about Saturday and the Smorgasbord."said Sofia.

"Me too! I'm looking forward to it." Said Nelson.

"Yeah, so are we!" said Kahlil.

"You excited Josie?" I asked...

"Oh yes...Ever since I first heard about it."gushed Josie , who had informed everybody about it!

"It's all she's been talking about."laughed her husband, Paris.

"Saturday will be a good time." said Bresha.

"Yeah it will." said Tony.

"I'm excited about the shopping and the sales." said Alfreda.

Rockland smiled..

 

"I see you smiling Rockland...Besides all of the good food, think of the nice dresses and pantyhose Ms. Alfreda will be buying to titillate you."said Jazzy,...
 

Dabnis pulled into his lap and hugged her....

"You're titilating me right now.."he said and kissed her earlobes..

"This made her giggle...STOPPP!! STOPPP!  "she laughed.. "You're always titilated by me.." she laughed as he gave her a bear hug.

"Give me a kiss baby!" said Dabnis... Jazzy slowly and softly kissed him...

Their kissing got more passionate.

Kayla smiled... "I saw a nice dress on line that I'm in love with..." she said.

"Ummmmm want me to tell you who I'm in love with?" whispered  Ray in Kayla's ear..

"It better be me.." whispered Kayla..

"Of course, who else?" said Ray kissing her slowly and softly...

"Ummmmmmm that earned you another smooch."said Kayla.

"I love these Barbecue Chicken Wings." said Jessica , who was sitting on her husband's lap....

"And I love you..." said Chip...

"That goes without saying." said Jessica, leaning over and passionately kissing Chip.

"UMMMMMMMMMM I LOVE YOU!" said Chip..

"I LOVE YOU TOO!"said Jessica.

"Ummm I love these Fried Shrimp Baskets." said Karen.

"And I thought it was the Fried Shrimp you loved." joked her husband, B.L.

''Silly!" said Karen, jokingly swatting at him.

"Such a nice, mellow night." said Natalie.

"Yeah, despite who is here."said David.

"Don't talk him up...He's over at the bar drowning his sorrows."said Brooke.

"And Whining probably." said Sean.

They were talking about Assistant District Attorney, Bruce Greene..

Sitting at the Bar downing several Beers. He 'd seen all of us...He didn't see Natika or Serendipity....

"If he wasn't such a jackass, I'd feel sorry for him..Losing the D.A.'s race, Romancing and losing both Natika and Serenedipity....

"Not to mention Erica Crawley....He's really had a hard time this year." said Lem...

"Well I for one am not going to dwell on him tonight.."said Renee.

"No one else is." said her husband, Tyrell.

"Oh Baby, I'm so proud of you...I can't wait to tell everybody about your new job and that you'll be working with all of us."said Lee.

"Well at least eating with you al." said her boyfriend, Matthew Akes.

"It'll be nice...Really nice."said Nina.

"Welcome to the building. I would say welcome to the club, but you're already a member of the club."laughed Nina's husband, Carlos.

In a small corner was our favorite judge ,Kelly Anne Mercer and our least favorite cop, Lt. Tragg.

They had downed quite a bit of beer and were now kissing and pawing on each other..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUU ARTHUR...WE'D BETTER TAKE THIS BACK TO MY PLACE.../

LOOK AT YOU!!! YOUR TROUSERS ARE STANDING OUT LIKE A CIRCUS TENT.." she said.

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I CAN'T CONTROL MYSELF WHEN I'M AROUND YOU!" he moaned..

As they kissed passionately...

"I've got a boner for you that just won't quit..." he said.

"I can see that!...but we don't want everyone in the bar seeing that...ouuuuuuuu let's go..." she said.

We all could see what he saw in her...She was an attractive shapely woman....But we all wondered, what she saw IN HIM!

At any rate...Since he'd been seeing her, he didn't bother us at all when he came in...We hardly knew he was here..

And Curley, the bars owner and head bartender appreciated it too.. No brawls. Nor loud arguments anymore.  Just people drinking ,eating and kissing each other and enjoying the night.

And miles away at Ellie Mays townhouse...

"I'd like to get out of these clothes... I've had them on for two days...and get a shower....Why don't you get comfortable?" said Ellie Mays.

"I'm all for that..."laughed Slick Attorney Jason Smith.

She looked at the bulge in his trousers...

"Yeah, I'll bet you are." she said, smiling salaciously..

He took her in his arms and kissed her...

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! OHHHHHHHHH!" she cooed..

TWO HOURS AND A HALF LATER!
