We had just won a major litigation today downtown...and we were relaxing in a nearby coffee shop.. One Jazzy and Kayla had told us about...
 

They had Jenga blocks on the tables and Kahlil and I were involved in a spirited game while we waited on our coffees..

"I got you homeslice...You're goin down with the next block." said Kahlil.

"Don't count on that...I've been playin this game for years...Goes back to when I was at Howard,,,There..take that." I said.

"Look at them both...like two little boys." said my wife, Bee Bee, smiling..

"Two cute little boys."laughed Sofia.

"It looks like fun...I've got winners."laughed Jade.

"Olivia, Karen and I used to play Jenga..I think Liv has a set at her house."laughed Yvette...She looked around...

She really liked this place...

"Hey Guys...Here comes our food." said Yvette..

Bagels with Cream Cheese and Jelly arrived...

and six cups of coffee...

A woman walked over to Yvette...

''Well Hello Ms. Yvette, how are you? It's been awhile" she said.

"Oh My God, Ellie...How are you?" said Yvette hugging her.....

"I made partner and I have my own suite on the 5th floor at the Bridge Building down by Penns Landing...These are my colleagues...

''Senior Associate Kahlil Ahmed.-"said Yvette.

"Hello" said Kahlil...

"His wife, Senior Associate Sofia Garcia -Ahmed."said Yvette.

"Hola!" said Sofia.

"Senior Associate, Keith Jones, No relation, tee" said Yvette.

"Hello!" I said.

"And his wife, Beatrice Evans-Jones."said Yvette.

"Hello" said Beatrice.

"And my investigator, Jade Lee."

"Hello." said Jade.

''Ellie Mays is an old client of mine...I represented her a few years ago. Civil Case." said Yvette.

"Yes, you were an Associate Attorney at McCluskey/Cozen/Connor and Pratt...The only attorney whose billable hours I could afford at the time."laughed Ellie.  "How far we both have come... I'm the Manager of this joint and you are a partner, got your own staff, your own suite and you got married in the meanwhile....To Gary?   he was your boyfriend at the time..."laughed Ellie.

"Yes to Gary...We bought a house too...Let me give you my address." said Yvette..  "You got married also." said Yvette.

"Yes to Broderick Mays, the investment banker...only we're separated...We've been separated for seven months now..." said Ellie.

"Oh I'm so sorry...Any chance of a reconciliation?" asked Yvette.

"No I doubt it!   He stepped out on me...One time too many... That woman he is with can have him...I need a good divorce lawyer, is what I need." said Ellie.

"I know one in particular....I can give you her name and phone number.." said Yvette.

"That would be nice....Here, have another round of coffees on me...On the house.." she said.

As we received a second round of hot steaming cups of coffee...

"Ouuuuu thank you." said Bee Bee.

"Yes, thank you."said Kahlil.

"Thank you!"said Sofia.

"Thank you, this is good coffee." I said.

"Yes, thank you." said Jade.

"You've won over me and my kids.."laughed Yvette.

"Goood!"laughed Ellie Mays.

Meanwhile downtown at the Marriot- 10:15 AM!

in a fancy suite-

"Oh my God, so much blood...Blood everywhere.."said a CSI man, as another man took photographs..

"The man got it twice in the chest and one between the eyes.. the bullet appears to have exited out the back of his head..."said another CSI guy..

"The woman got it twice in the chest and once in the forehead..."said another CSI Guy...

"Oh my God, so much blood...Blood everywhere.."said another CSI man.

Dr. Hazel Baylor felt both bodies....

" They've both been dead about two hours....from Body temperature and rigor..." she said.

''Death appears to have been instantaneous."said Dr. Marcy Martin... She help up the dead man's limp left hand..

"He appears to be married..." she said.

''She isn't." said Hazel.

"Probably why they were in this ritzy titsy room......"said a detective on the scene.

Another detective went through the dead man's trousers and found his wallet with his drivers license and his work ID-

"His name is Broderick Mays...he's an investment banker....His office is a few blocks from here.. The broad is Victoria Olson....She's a waitress in a nearby coffee shoppe." he said.

Lt. Tragg lifted a pair of panties , he smiled.

"WHOAAAAAAA!  They were having quite a time..." he said and laughed.. The two detectives smiled.. The Crime Scene Investigators and photographer, all males, smiled.

"Grow up Boys...I'm sure you've all seen some fancy panties before...Then again, maybe some of you haven't!" said Dr. Marcy Martin....

Dr. Hazel Baylor snickered.

"I have." said Lt. Tragg smiling... "Alright...Bag em and tag em guys...get em out of here....and ladies...I need a full autopsy reports on both of these people  as soon as possible.." he said.

''We are ladies now...Not girls." said Marcy.

"How about that?" laughed Hazel..

Both Bloody bodies were put in body bags , strapped to gurneys and rolled out of the room, which was a mess.

II-

A DAY LATER- THE BRIDGE BUILDING!

We were all having breakfast in our building's cafeteria.

"Hiiii Vettie!  Nice place you guys have here...I love this building." said Ellie Mays.

 "It is a nice building...We've loved it before we actually worked here." said Yvette.  "I know you didn't come down here just to see where I worked..." said Yvette.

"No I came down here because I think I'm going to need your legal expertise once again.... You heard that my husband was found in a beautiful suite in the Marriot with his new mistress ,shot to death Yesterday....And this isn't even the woman he stepped out on me with...This is some other floozy."said Ellie Mays.

"OHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOO! "said Yvette.

"The Spouse is always the first suspect." said Ellie May.

"Always good to prepare..I think you're being smart." I said.

"Yeah, now is the time to prepare just in case something happens." said Bee Bee.

"If Lt. Tragg is involved...Something is bound to happen." said Sofia.

"Yeah...I hope he didn't follow you here...He doesn't know where we work anymore."said Kahlil.

"And we'd like to keep it that way."said Jade with a smile.

"Though he's going to find out eventually...It's not like he hasn't been in this building. We've just been lucky is all." said Virginia.

''Yeah, he'll find out soon enough " said her husband, Jetty.

"He's always dropping by the Women's Law Center to pester us at times." said Lee.

"Not so much lately...but he did dop by a few times."said Nina.

"Yes , he needs to find someone else to pester." said Carlos.

There was a completely different conversation going on a few seats away...

"I can't wait until this Saturday..."said Jazzy.
 

"A Trip to Bayside Shopping Center and their Smorgasbord.." said Dabnis.

"Yes, so get your appetites ready." said Kayla.

"Mine is ready." said Ray.

"I love a Smorgasbord...I haven't been to one in awhile."said Jessica.

"The one we went to upstate before we got married." said Chip.

"This Saturday sounds like fun...and it'll be the first time the guys come shopping with us.." said Karen.

"I know right? They always want to hang out in that sports bar and then bug us about what we got."laughed Natalie.

Her husband David laughed as he made his plate of food.

"Besides, you guys may have things you want to buy..." said Brooke.

"Nah, I just want to eat...Are we still going to NO I.D. for Brunch?" asked Sean.

"I think so...I'll check with Olivia and Beverly." said Zoey.

"If we do go to Brunch I'm not eating much....I'm leaving room for my food." said Lem.

"That's a good idea."laughed Renee.

"I think I'm following Lem's example." said Tyrell.

"Yeah Me too! I'll just have coffee.."said Tony.

"Speak for yourself...I'm haqving as much as possible."laughed Paris.

''When we finish here...We'll go up to my suite...and we'll talk." said Yvette.

"Thanks Yvette....I see you're not alone or isolated down here...You've made a lot of friends." said Ellie.

"Believe it or not...I knew and had worked with practically everybody here long before any of us was in this building....It's just a co-incidence that we all work here and live practically in the same neighborhood."said Yvette.

"WOW!" said Ellie Mays.

After Breakfast- We all walked up to our suite...

"This is your suite? Nice!" said Ellie Mays...

"Yes this is my suite and this my office manager, Virginia Shaw-Dukes." said Yvette.

"Pleased to meet you." said Virginia..

"Oh wow!... An Office manager....Ms. Yvette Jones, you really have moved up since we last did business together." said Ellie Mays..

"Now let's walk into our conference room and get down to cases.." said Yvette.

We walked into our conference room...

 

 "Okay...We are all here...Jade our investigator and Ms. Virginia, who also has a law degree and will be taking notes."said Ms. Yvette.

"My Husband had been stepping out on me for awhile...I hired a Private Investigator, Milt Lewis to look into it." said Ellie Mays.

'We know Milt Lewis...He's done work for us when Jade has been backed up ." I said.

"He's a good guy." said Bee Bee.

"He got evidence...Photos, Tapes, Phone records and Credit card receipts of my husband's involvement with another woman, Kim Belle....Not the woman killed in the hotel room with him yesterday...I confronted her....She didn't deny it...So I moved out and initiated legal seperation against my husband..

He begged me to reconsider and even took me out and tried to get me to come back home, but I refused.. Now as far as I knew...He was still seeing Kim Belle.  This girl, I believe she was a cocktail waitress, he was killed with yesterday in the Marriot, I've never heard of before. That's the truth."said Ellie Mays.

"Can you tell us where you were at the time of the murders? Do you know when the murders occurred?" asked Sofia.

"The newspapers give the time of death as sometime yesterday Morning....If that's true... You guys are my alibi... I was at work with you...Serving you coffee and bagels.." said Ellie Mays.

"And we can attest to that..."said Kahlil.

"I'll get ahold of the Autopsy Report, The Crime Scene Photos and Reports as soon as possible and then we'll know for sure...I need to see your credit card and debit card reports also.." said Jade.

"I'll have them for you tomorrow..." said Ellie.

''What you should do is give me a list of charactor witnesses...Five to ten people or more who will testify to your good charactor....I need names, email addresses, telephone numbers...You can do that right now."said Yvette.

Ms. Virginia passed her a piece of paper and a pen

"I can do that." said Ellie Mays.

"You don't have any arrests or criminal complaints lodged against you do you?" asked Yvette.

"No...other than our civil case a few years ago...Nothing." said Yvette.

"By the way, you said you used a lawyer to file legal separation against your husband...Could you give us that lawyer's name?" I asked.

"Sure ,he's a lawyer from your firm....Jason Smith...do you know him?" asked Ellie Mays.

"Yes , we know him." said Bee Bee.

"Beatrice and I worked a case with him a few years back.

Jason Smith is an Attorney who started at McCluskey/Cozen/Connor and Pratt a little before the four of us....He's had his eye on becoming a partner and is kind of like the Golden Boy amongst the partners and other attorneys over at our main building.. When he was elevated to Senior Associate Attorney, Ms. Yvette elevated the four of us to Senior Associate Attorney right away..

Nothing against him..but at times he seemed as slick as canned grease.

''We can contact him if we need to..I don't think we need to right now."said Ms. Yvette.

"We have your charactor witnesses...All we need you to do is go home, Act natural, keep a low profile for the next few days and go to work like you normally do." I said.

"If you get arrested, you call us immediately...You have our numbers." said Bee Bee.

"You have a right to remain silent, exercise it...You don't have to say anything or answer any questions without legal counsel present."said Sofia.

"Just ask to see your attorneys."said Kahlil.

"Well Alrighty then!" laughed Ellie Mays...

"You're in good hands....You'll be alright."said Ms. Virginia , smiling.

We all were home after a night out at Josie's.

After we all got home that night..We were all settled down with our significant others.. What better way to spend nice night out than to be making love.?

Bee Bee was wearing another sheer see through Baby doll.....She had just taken a hot shower and walked into our bedroom..

as a Tactical squad of policemen placed handcuffs on her and dragged her out of her townhouse...

"Oh I don't think we've made a mistake... The Spouse is always the first suspect!" said Lt. Tragg.
