"That's the book on them and they are as clean as the board of health...All of em...No dirt." said Barry Pinkston..

"DAMN IT!!!  She certainly knew who to go to didn't she? They all graduated from PENN...So did I..

WHARTON....Same year Yvette Jones-Lockwood was graduating from PENN LAW SCHOOL... You used to date her didn't you Tommy...huh? She a great piece of Ass or what?" Jason Lockjoy asked his attorney ,who was also present.

''She's a nice woman.. and she's a great attorney, very smart, knowledgable....That's all I'll say...We dated for about three months...several years ago..."said Thomas Dylan....He didn't like Ms. Yvette, who he still considered a friend, talked about like that...He didn't like that Jason had gotten a private investigator to look Yvette and her associates up either, but he said nothing... Jason Lockjoy's money had paid for his daughter's college..all four years and for he and his wife's trip to the Cayman Islands last summer.

"Your accuser isn't so squeaky clean.

Melinda Jost has had two abortions....One at 15 and another at 31....You ought to be able to use that in court..." said Barrett Pinkston...

"Yeah....Yeahhhhhh that's the ticket.."laughed Jason Lockjoy...

His Attorney ,Thomas Dylan just sighed.

At Our Building..

In our Cafeteria..

Most of us sat together discussing our weekend....It was one of the rare weekends where we didn't all do something together.

"How was everybody's weekend?" asked Jazzy..

''Ours was great." said Dabnis.

"Jazzy's clients had tickets to a show at Atlantic City's Ocean Resort...."said Kayla.

"So we called and rented seven rooms...We all wound up on the same floor."said Kayla's husband Ray..

"It was a good time...We all had rooms with an Ocean View..." said Natalie..

"It was un believable."said her husband, David...

"That was my first time ,staying over night in that beautiful Hotel/Casino..."said Brooke..

"It was so nice...And the food??? Oh My God...... 

Beverly and her husband, Nelson, Josie and her husband, Paris and Bresha and her husband, Tony Also went..."said Sean...

We took one bus, which took us all down there...

The place is huge....and the show was great Friday Night, Jodeci, Dru Hill, SWV.......We stayed overnight...

Saturday the girls went to the spa....

and later we all enjoyed the heated indoor pool.." said Sean.  "We came home Saturday Night.." he said.

"We spent the weekend with Bee Bee ,Keith, Sofia and Kahlil...Oh and Jade and Danny." said Jessica.

''Yeah we had a nice dinner and played Spades until 1:00 in the morning." said Chip.

Discussing our quiet weekend...

"Are you ready for tomorrow Vettie? This guy Jason Lockjoy is a real snake... He'll use any and every trick in the book to his advantage... He was accused of sexually assaulting a young woman a few years back...They found out about the woman's sexual history and used it against her...He walked away scott free...If your client has anything...and I mean anything unsavory in her past history you'd better find out about it now..."said ADA Karen Page..

"You know about her two abortions...right?" asked Virginia..

"Yes...one was when she was a teenager...Her whole future was ahead of her... Her Mother and Father took her to Planned Parenthood..  The second one was when she 31...There was trouble with the pregnancy...She had to have that one to save her life....It was different..." said Yvette..

"Doesn't matter ... a jury will hear two abortions and say ''Slut" or "Loose woman" and you know, you can do anything with a slut or loose woman.  "said Jetty.

"This isn't going to be an easy case to try Vettie."said Ms. Virginia.

"Yeah ,I know." said Ms. Yvette sighing as she finished her lunch.

THE NEXT DAY- COURTROOM C-

We were in court with our client....Melinda Jost...A Popular TV Anchor in a civil trial, accusing Stockbroker and Man about town, Jason Lockjoy of Rape.....It was the talk of the town...He was facing criminal charges....but right now...He was facing this civil case... Today was day two of the trial.

The Judge was once again Tad Thornton...He had gone to law school with Ms. Yvette and Ms. Olivia..

Rumor had it , he was romantically involved with both women...a Rumor all three of them vehemently denied... At any rate, he was cordial with all of us and Tough, but fair.

A Civil Case was different from a Criminal Case..For one , you only needed six jurors and they didn't have to vote unanimously.....We just needed a majority...Kahlil and I had done a good job of picking six jurors who could be fair and not be swayed by old prejudices we thought... Although he had been practicing longer, Attorney Thomas Dylan was no match for the two of us...We had been trained by the best...Ms. Yvette.

"Okay Baby Girl this is it...I'm going to put you on the stand...You just tell your truth and don't blink.."said Yvette..

'

''I want to tell my truth..." said Melinda.

"Don't give Jason Lockjoy any eye contact if you can help it." I said..

"My husband is right...He's a master at manipulation and intimidation...I saw how he was eying you yesterday when we were picking a jury...."said Bee Bee.

''You'll be just fine...Just relax and recount the events to the best of your knowledge."said Sofia.

"You just tell your truth and don't blink.."said Kahlil.

''Showtime."said Jade..

Jason Lockjoy peered over at us....

"Ummmmmmph I will say this...Melinda picked some Prime Beef for her representation....Look at those four women, The Two Black women, the Puerto Rican woman and the Asian woman....There's not a one of them I wouldn't mind slipping my baloney pony into....wowwwwwww!" he mused and smiled..

''Why don't you calm your libido down huh? That is what got you into this mess in the first place.."said his lawyer...Thomas Dylan ,who was disgusted with him..

Melinda was called to the stand and she recreated what happened on the day she was sexually assaulted..

Melinda Jost was in Bridget's Lingerie store doing a little shopping..

"I like these.."said a man picking up several pairs.. His Name was Jason Lockjoy and he was a major Stock Broker....Rumor had it that he was another type of Broker.. One who brokered major cash deals for members of the underworld...Though it was just a rumor.

"How are you Jason?..Still a Stock Broker?" asked Melinda , who was a TV News Reporter with the local network..."I see you're still a perv." she added and smiled.

"I haven't done the weather in three years...I anchor the Afternoon Drive By News now."said Melinda Jost.

"Rephase your question."said Judge Thornton.

"You have had two abortions in your life...I present into evidence , Defense exhibits A and B.. A record of your abortions...One at 14 and another one at 31....Pretty careless young lady..

"OBJECTION, AGAIN, RELEVANCE..Her past sexual history has no bearing on her being assaulted two weeks ago..I said.

"He's being argumentive your honor."said Kahlil backing me up...

"I'd like to explain.... At 15, I was a bit out there, a bit loose... I made a serious error in judgement and got pregnant I was in no position to take care of a child...I was just in 10th grade...I wanted to go to college...My parents, both my parents and I got that taken care of... The second time I got pregnant...I was 31, had graduated from college many years before and was in a long standing relationship with my ex-fiance...I very much wanted to have a baby...but there was some difficulty in the pregnancy....I had an abortion to save my life....That was completely different..and that was 10 years ago... It had nothing to do with what happened last Tuesday in that Lingerie store dressing room." Melinda explained..

"You've known my client several years have you not??  You two were friends weren't you?" asked Thomas Dylan..

"Yes...We were somewhat cordial.. We've been out drinking a few times over the years.."said Melinda.

Yvette called our good friend, Bridget Jones , who owned a number of Lingerie Stores that all of our friends shopped at...

"Ms Jost is one of my best customers...We talked for a minute and then I went upfront.. I had two cashiers on and one was late...I saw Mr. Lockjoy and her talking, but they seemed to be laughing and joking...It seemed friendly....Then I looked up and didn't see either of them...I didn't hear the altercation...and I never saw him leave...The next time I saw her, her lipstick was smeared...and her hair was disheveled and she  told me she had been raped... I took her to the hospital to do a rape kit and I told her to go to the police, but she wouldn't do it...She did go a week later...I'm glad of that."said Bridget.

"I think we did pretty good." I said.

"Enough to convince at least four of these six jurors that she was raped?" asked Bee Bee.

''Well as good as him...He didn't do much better.."said Sofia.

"The Jury looked like they sympathized with us."said Kahlil.

Jade peered over at Jason Lockjoy..

He smiled at her and winked...He didn't look like he had a care in the world..
 

"I don't care how much these two laughed and talked and drank together over the years...The Bottom line is this man took advantage of their friendship and forced himself on this woman without her consent..Does a friend do that?   His attorney is trying to say she is loose because she's had two abortions...Years ago and he's fabricated a story about her touching his penis.....None of that has anything to do with her being assaulted in a changing room of a lingerie store...This man assaulted her..plain and simple and her past sexual history and their past friendship has NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT!,plain and simple." argued Yvette.

"Folks, I'm going to ask you to use your common sense..She wants you to believe she's being attacked, raped in the changing room...Yet she never screams...She never screams....There were three people in the store..The Manager and two cashiers...Yet they never heard a word..Never heard a thing...Then she appears and says I was raped...but she didn't go to the police for a week ,until after she lawyered up and they made her go...Come onnnnnnnn now..There was no attack here." said Thomas Dylan in his closing sumnation...

The Jury went into deliberation!

That was the other thing about civil trials.. They Usually  didn't last as long as criminal trials.

''Even if I don't win....At least he knows that I didn't take what he did lying down...At least I put up a  fight."said Melinda.

''Well Win or lose...You've got to do the whole thing for the ADA ,when the criminal case comes up..Good Luck with that.." said Yvette.

"You're right...After a Civil Trial and a Criminal Trial and all this bad publicity..Maybe he won't do this to another girl in the future."said Bee Bee.

"Regardless of the outcome.." said Sofia.

"Yeah...Come on Guys...Let's get out of here."said Kahlil.

"Yeah, good idea...I'm hungry and thirsty...I could use a cold one."I said.

"Me too!"said Jade.

The Loft belonging to Private Investigator Barrett Pinkston.

"So your husband came through with much needed information that helped me get through that Civil Trial....The Jury is deliberating..." said Jason Lockjoy...

"I was in the courtroom today...Don't try to bullshit me."said Paige....She was an Attorney herself..

That girl had a good legal team and they did what they had to do... If I can be perfectly honest, I think they had the better message, despite the job Tommy did... I hope they don't take you for too much." she said.

"It Only takes six jurors and they don't have to be unanimous....Just a majority..."said Nelson...

"We think we did enough to  make the jury rule in our favor." I said.

"I'm glad we aren't part of the criminal case..." said Bee Bee.

"Oh Me too! His Defense Attorney will have his hands tied, especially if he loses this civil case."said  Sofia.

"At Any rate...He won't do this again..that's for sure.."said Kahlil.

"He could lose a considerable amount of money and spend up to five years in prison."said Josie.

"He's connected to everything except the street lights...Not to jinx your case...but I'm certain he and his lawyer are going to make a move...Some kind of move."said Paris.

"I hate guys like him...They think they can do anything they want and never have any accountability for it."said Bresha.

''He's being held accountable....even if he wins the civil and criminal cases...The exposure and bad press will get to him."said Tony.

"He has done this before and gotten away with it.. We weren't allowed to bring that up in court...His lawyer blocked it.!"said Jade.

"I'm not surprised.."said Danny Ho.

"I don't know who gets the most interesting cases, My guys or your guys."Alfreda said to Virginia.

"I knowww" agreed her husband, Rockland..

"I think it's a toss up..."laughed Virginia.

"Gotta love it!"laughed her husband, Jetty.

As we all enjoyed a good meal!

IV-

  After Dinner, Yvette and Gary ,like everyone else went home....They were full and tired....

Yvette took a hot shower, lotioned down ,getting ready for bed..

and got comfortable in her gray Victoria's Secret night shirt that came to her hips..

Gary made her her tea and then went and sat on the couch, watching TV..

She sat in his lap as they watched the news....

Yvette felt neglected...She went and sat on his lap, facing him...

''What's wrong with you? usually about this time, I have to fight you off of me." she asked..

"Vettie you need rest.You guys just finished that big trial today....I thought you'd be tired."said Gary.

"Where is my husband? Who took my husband and replaced him" said Yvette ,laughing....

Early Morning.....A Tired Jason Lockjoy was just drifting off to sleep...He had just gotten home after making love to Barrett Pinkston's wife, Paige... He took a hot shower , threw on some shorts and got in the bed when his doorbell rang...

"Awwwwww who the hell is it ?"  He said as he headed to the door...

He opened the door and smiled..

"What are you doing here?" he asked, smiling...

A gun was produced.....

"NO!! NO!!! PLEASE NOOOOOOOO!" he screamed as six shots were fired into his chest...

He stumbled backwards and fell, his head hitting the table and his body hitting the ground with a thud...

He wasn't going to be at trial tomorrow to hear the verdict...

It would no longer matter to him regardless of which way it went.

HE WAS DEAD!!! VERY DEAD!
