"ALL RISE FOR THE HONORABLE JUDGE WILLIAM BRAU-" said the bailiff...
Honorable? That was a Joke! The Last Trial he sat on , he was forced to recuse himself when explicit photos emerged of him having sexual relations both on his Yacht and at his condo with the Prosecutor of the case, who herself was disbarred and now serving a term in State Prison for Manslaughter...a crime , he himself was arrested for...
Judge William Braugot himself a very savy attorney who argued that his client had no relationship with any of the six defendants arrested and convicted of the Godfrey Robbery ,No knowledge at all of the slain Victor O'Day or the slain Willie Galveston... He said he had only met him on the day , he and his lover, Callie Rowe met on his boat to hunt for Gold that was never found....He said he had no idea that Rowe was planning to murder Willie Galveston.....
A Jury in this very courtroom ,bought it and he was acquitted of all charges...Miraculously...He is still a sitting Judge to this day.. He had to sell his car and his Yacht, "Rich Man's Regret". He sold his secret condo and is back with his once estranged wife.
He was still a sitting Judge and had avoided prison and disbarment, but there was nothing HONORABLE ABOUT him...
Olivia and Beverly had told us his whole story...having been involved in that last trial he sat on...
So Here we sat in court with our client , Wynnefield Schuyler
"Okay, sit tight Wynnefield...This should be over soon!" said Ms. Yvette, confident that we could bail him out...
"I can't wait...I couldn't spend another day in that airless windowless so called "Cooler.." said Wynnefield...
Not that any client of ours had ever liked being locked up....but he acted as though his race and financial status made him immune from being locked up...He was in essence, a spoiled little rich boy...
His perceived privilege and his wealth angered Yvette a little, She almost wanted him to stay locked up ,if nothing more than to humble him, but she said nothing and her face betrayed no emotion.
He slyly ran his hands up Bee Bee's dress and softly rubbed her legs...
Bee Bee removed his hands and angrily looked at him..
"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?? MY HUSBAND IS JUST SEATS OVER?" she said.
He smiled like a naughty school boy and slipped his hands up Sofia's skirt, gently palming her butt..
"PUNTA! STOP IT!" she whispered angrilly and removed his hands...
If Kahlil or I had realized what he had been doing, he'd of been toast....I am certain of it..
Kahlil was talking quietly to Ms. Jade.
who was giving him an update on her findings, which unfortunately was nothing new..
Ms. Yvette moved Bee Bee and Sofia over to the other side of her and whispered in Wynne's ear..
"Touch either one of them again and We are leaving...You'll have to get a Public Defender....Do I make myself clear?" she said with a tint of anger.
He looked like a petulant child...but he agreed....
On the Prosecution side...
ADA James"Jumpshot Jim" Taylor was the lead prosecutor...He had volunteered for this case...He had been the city's most eligible bachelor for years and had been overtaken by this guy, Wynnefield Schulyer, who he viewed as simply a rich , entitled punk
Second chair on this case was Assistant District Attorney, Brittany Hanks, who he had had his eyes on for quite sometime now.. She had gone out to Dinner twice with him and for drinks...He felt as though he was getting close to either getting her to his condo or being invited to her apartment...
Third Chair was The D.A.'s son, Assistant District Attorney, Chris Garcetti... Unknown to Jumpshot Jim, He too had his eye on Assistant District Attorney Brittany Hanks... He too had taken her out to dinner at least three times and out two times for drinks.. He thought he was getting close to either getting her to his apartment or being invited to her apartment...
Lt. Tragg sat with them...He had probably done the best and most extensive investigation in quite some time on this case...He too was attracted to ADA Brittany Hanks, but after she had slapped the hell out of him in Curleys , a month before , embarrassing him greatly....He kept his distance...
"DOCKET 124 ,COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA VS. WYNNEFIELD SCHUYLER, the charge is FIRST DEGREE MURDER!!" said Judge Brau.
"Assistant District Attorney James Taylor your honor...We are arguing that this man, Wynne Schuyler , who just escaped serious charges of Wire and Mail Fraud and Extortion....." said James Taylor..
"OBJECTION!!! RELEVANCE!!" screamed Ms. Yvette.
"MR. SCHUYLER WAS FOUND INNOCENT OF THOSE CHARGES ,THEY BARE NO RELEVANCE AT ALL TO WHAT HE IS CHARGED WITH NOW!" I bellowed...That was a real cheap stunt, Jumpshot Jim had pulled...
"The Assistant District Attorney should stick to the facts at hand."said Ms. Yvette.
"Sustained...Stick to the pertinent facts of THIS CURRENT CHARGE COUNSELOR." said the Judge.
Jumpshot Jim smiled.. He knew what he had done..He meant for that to be heard...but he knew he couldn't use it in court..
"This man, Wynne Schuyler is accused of the strangulation murder of Mrs.Barbara Briscoe...a woman he had been sexually and or romantically involved with...He is wealthy...His Father has homes in Palm Beach, Miami, Los Angelas and Dubai....I believe and a fleet of private planes..We consider him a flight risk and due to the seriousness of these charges...We believe he should be held without bail." said Jumpshot Jim...
Kahlil argued that Mr. Schuyler has never fled from any of his previous charges and wants his day in court to face these ridiculous and egregious charges of which he is totally innocent.
Sofia and Bee Bee called five witnesses a piece, 10 witnesses in all to vouch for his charactor...All of them Wealthy Jet setters, Wealthy Trust fund babies... It was the best we could do..
Wynne sat , smirking..completely pleased with our vigourous defense....
Usually the Judge recessed for lunch and came back with a ruling... Judge Brau made his decision right on the spot...
We wondered how high the bail was going to be...That as we would find out would not be our problem..
"Due to this defendent's great wealth and resources, I believe he is indeed a flight risk... So I am ruling that he NOT BE GRANTED BAIL AND BE HELD IN CUSTODY UNTIL HIS TRIAL!!" said Judge Brau...
"YOU ASSHOLE!! YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE JUDGE!!!" yelled a surprised and incensed Wynne Schuyler...He expected bail to be set and to be released...
"Mrs. Jones-Lockwood, please control your client!" said Judge Brau silently....
Yvette looked at Wynne.
"Wynne please sit down, be quiet..." she said quietly..
"DO SOMETHING, DO SOMETHING!! I CAN'T SPEND ANOTHER NIGHT IN JAIL, PLEASE!" he pleaded..
''We've done all we can for now..You've got to be strong.. We are going to be up to visit you and we are going to get you a trial date as soon as possible." I assurred him...
"We've won so many of these arraignments..I kind of feel strange losing one." said Bee Bee.
"Can't win em all Bee....but I feel as though...Jumpshot Jim didn't argue hard enough to win...While we did..and we lost."said Kahlil..
"He's got too much money and resources.. Our other clients were not in price range...Nowhere near it!"said Sofia.
"Sofia's right, A Fleet of Private planes....Homes in various places ....He could easily be a flight risk...That and his attitude didn't help."said Jade...
Jumpshot Jim and Chris Garcetti smiled and high fived each other...
"Well Vettie looks like you guys came up short on this one eh?" laughed a jubilant Lt. Tragg...
"It's just an arraigment...There's a long trial to go." said Yvette...
"Yeah, tell yourself that!"laughed Lt. Tragg.
"I'm so glad we bought all of those sandwiches...We can go back to our building to eat." said Bee Bee.
"Yeah, wow......I thought we'd get him out today..." I said.
"We've won so much we got spoiled...Didn't think we could lose." said Sofia...
"Damnnnnnnnn!" said Kahlil as we walked out...
Jade was observing the courtroom....
The victim's husband...Haverford Briscoe , snarled at Wynne as the bailiffs walked him out towards the bus that would take him to one of the city jails...
"YOU LITTLE SHIT!! BANGIN MY WIFE EH? YOU WON'T GET OUT OF THIS....YOUR LAWYERS AINT GONNA HELP YOU...I'LL SEE TO THAT!" he said.
"Haverford, I didn't kill her...I swear I didn't.." pleaded Wynne...
"SHUT THE HELL UP!" said Haverford Briscoe.
We slipped out of the courthouse and boarded the train that would whisk us to our building.
II-
We went back to our building...The Building we had been in for two years now and discovered something new..A Rooftop Luncheon Area... When you consider, the Gym and the Beautiful Cafeteria..This was just something else that made working in this building so enjoyable..
Today we gathered here for our lunch...We had all brought sandwiches from the Sandwich shoppe that had recently opened in our neighborhood.. and decided to have lunch here on the rooftop...It was a beautiful day with balmy weather...
"Heyyy Vettie, Guys...Glad you could make it..Come on over...We got seats..."said Jazzy..
"Yeah, cop a squat." said her husband, Dabnis..
"Damnnn Ole School, you aged yourself with that phrase." I laughed..
"Wowwww haven't heard Cop a squat since I was in Middle School."laughed Bee Bee.
Sofia cracked up laughing...
"It's ccol..We know what you mean."said Kahlil, managing a smile.
Dabnis smiled.. "I guess I am old school, huh?" he laughed..
"You're my old man." said Jazzy ,lovingly, hugging her husband and laughing too!
"Hey Guys...Sooo glad you could join us..."said Natalie...
"Hey where is Wynne? Hanging out with us working lawyers too rich for his blood?" joked David.
"He probably wishes he could eat lunch on this roof with us...The Judge felt with all of his money and resources, he was a flight risk, so he denied bail....Wynne is in jail.."said Yvette.
"We tried." said Jade.
"Damnnnnnn, but I can understand.. His Father owns a fleet of private planes...Out in Northeast Airport, ready to take off at a whim."said Kayla.
''And his Pops has properties in Palm Beach, Miami Beach, L.A. and Dubai, I hear."said her husband, Ray.
"Yeah, I can certainly see a Judge denying bail.."said Sean, A Federal Public Defender, who had seen this in court before.
"You'd almost think it would be unfair...Profiled because he's rich! How Ironic." said Brooke.
"Yeah...We never had clients rich enough to be considered flight risks...At least not in that sense."said Jessica.
"I know right?" said her husband, Chip.
We saw Paris with his wife Josie and Tony with his wife Bresha...Which meant one thing, our friends, Olivia and Beverly and their crew had joined us..
Both couples, Josie and Paris and Bresha and Tony were doing more kissing than eating..
"Hey Vettie, Guys..." said Beverly...
"Hey Vettie, everybody." said Nelson.
"Sorry about court today....Win some lose some." said Olivia.
"Besides...this is just one battle..You guys got a whole trial to go." said Donnie Ray..
"Yeah, win some, lose some...Well Hi Ms. Alfreda...They brought you out today huh?" said Ms. Yvette.
"Yessss...This is a beautiful building you guys have...I saw the cafeteria and the gym...I know you all love it here.." said Alfreda..
"We do...I've been here a year and did not know about this rooftop lunch area....." said Virginia..
"Building's best kept secret.."said Jetty...
"This is nice....In the summer months , we can do this again...Thanks for bringing me a sandwich.."said Karen..
There were more than enough sandwiches of all types for everyone...
and hot coffee from downstairs too!
We all enjoyed each other as we usually did and the good sandwiches on the rooftop....
While our client, Wynne Schuyler spent the rest if the day in his new temporary home..
our newest holding facility...
It was clean and new...It could have been worse for him...
III-
THE NEXT DAY-
Lt. Tragg wanted to gloat..so he went to our old building once again and once again he found the premises empty, the lights off and the offices dark as though no one had been in the office..
He stayed there an hour, until frustrated , he left...
Ms. Jade however finished interviewing all of the people Lt. Tragg and his men had interviewed which gave her absolutely nothing...Only three of the 2037 people interviewed remembered seeing Wynne leave the party at around 11:00 pm and not one of them saw the young lady, Mrs. Briscoe..
She checked the hotel's records...Wynnefield Schuyler had paid for the D.J.'s, had rented the rooftop for the party, had paid the caterer and had paid for the room that he and Barbara Briscoe had been secretly meeting in for months...
Yes, his DNA and prints as well as hers was all over the apartment..
Mrs. Briscoe was captured entering the building around 9:30 pm...with an overnight bag...She saw the contents of the overnight bag...Condoms, KY jelly, lipstick, make up, another pair of panties, un worn, another bra and a skirt and blouse...Body wash, Lotion and a very expensive fragrance...
She went to the M.E.'s office....The body hadn't been released yet....She viewed the body....her windpipe had been destroyed... She had been strangled by a big man or a man with bigger hands than Wynne.. Wynne had small hands...slender hands...Perfectly manicured hands that hadn't done a day of hard work.
This killer was a big man with big hands...strong hands....
Dr. Hazel Baylor told Jade that there was skin underneath Barbara Briscoe's nails...Skin and Blood which had foreign DNA on it...DNA they were trying to find a match for...
"Did you tell Lt. Tragg about this?" asked Jade.
"We tried to, he just blew us off....but you are right....Your client has small hands...I've seen him...I'm not saying he couldn't have strangled her...but he didn't do this....whoever strangled her was a big man ,with big hands.....and we found two shoe prints in the doorway....They are a size 13....Your client is a size 9..small for a man...but he's a slight man...The mysterious shoe prints and the skin beneath the fingernails with foreign DNA is the only proof that someone in addition to your client was in that room."said Dr. Hazel Baylor.
'"Thank you Hazel." said Jade, leaving....She believed she had what she needed to begin her investigation.
At our conference room...
Bee Bee and Sofia were busy doing research, on Capital Cases , Like Cases, Laws pertaining to such cases and predicates.....
While Kahlil and I were busy trying to pick the perfect type of juror for this case, all under the watchful eye of Ms. Virginia...
Who not only was giving us all sage advice, but learning a thing or two about trial science from us...She was quite impressed with us...
Ms. Yvette, like Ms. Jade were both out of the office..
She was at the new holding facility for men...visiting our client, Wynne Schuyler..
He had only been locked up a day, but you would have thought he had done hard time, twenty years or so...
His cell was like a college dormitory room....with a bed, a toilet and a chest of drawers for personal effects...
He had a room to himself and was allowed in general population during the day... Most of the people there were poor Black and Latino men, a few Asians, awaiting trials or awaiting to be transferred to State Prison...He had little to nothing in common with them and he didn't feel as though he belonged here in jail with them...
"Oh Yvette, Yvette, I am so glad to see you..." he said upon seeing her...
"It's only been a day....We are coming up to see you tomorrow....All of us and we'll bring food."said Ms. Yvette..
"You gotta get me outta here..I don't like being here...I need to get out, to be free.." he exclaimed..
''We are working as hard as we can to get you a court date as soon as possible.. No one likes to be in here...No sane person...Just keep to yourself and keep your mouth closed...don't discuss your case with anyone...I mean anyone, no guards, no cops, no sherrif deputies and especially no inmates...Everybody locked up in here is looking to make a deal to get out....Remember that....You talk to us and us only."said Ms. Yvette...
"Okay!" he said and he seemed to simmer down..
"Wynne, is it possible that anyone else other than you knew that Mrs. Briscoe was staying in that room and meeting you there?" asked Ms. Yvette.
"I never told a soul....It wouldn't have been in my best interest....I mean, she was married and the wife of one of my dad's closest business associates and friends...and she couldn't afford to have it known, She was prominent in his will, She stood to inherit a fortune or lose one if caught in any type of infidelity.."said Wynne.
'Well somebody obviously knew...somebody was watching your comings and goings..and somebody entered that room after you did...The problem is , who?" asked Ms. Yvette..
This was indeed something to think about.
IV-
NIGHTFALL CAME-
We all were at home...
Ms. Yvette had her laptop out, researching the only Assistant District Attorney she felt she had to worry about..Assistant District Attorney Brittany Hanks
Brittany Janelle Hanks.

"That's one of the ADA's you'll be facing huh? I know her...She's nice...Knows her stuff.!" said Gary...
Gary looked over her shoulder... He had brewed them both two cups of Orange Organic Tea...since knowing Ms. Yvette, he had become a fan...
He found drinking the tea very relaxing as did Ms. Yvette.
"Ummmmmmmmm thank you love, That makes her far more dangerous and formidable than Jumpshot Jimmy or Chris Garcetti...both of whom just want to get in her panties.. You should have seen them in court yesterday....Falling all over themselves over her.." said Ms. Yvette.
"You think she's interested in either one?" asked Gary...
"I don't know...I don't care...but she strikes me as someone who has tastes, so my answer would be no, neither one of them..."said Yvette, who closed her laptop and put it away...
She took her husband by the hand and led him to the bedroom....
Gary took her in his arms...
They began kissing passionately....
"OHHHHHHHHHHH GODDDDDDD GARY, I LOVE YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!" Yvette moaned..
"AWWWWWWWWW VETTTIE, I LOVE YOU TOOOO!!! UMMMMMMMMM" he moaned..
He slowly unzippered her dress and took it off...
"OH MY GOD!! he exclaimed... as he unhooked her bra and slipped her panties down!
Gary lifted her up and entered her slowly....She gasped ,but said nothing...
In a few minutes ,he sat her on the bathroom sink, spread her legs and entered her again, while she kissed him passionately....staring in his beautiful green eyes...
He bent her over the bathroom sink and entered her doggie style...
"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU....OHHHHHHHHHH YOU NASTY DOG YOU!! OUUUUUUU!" she screamed out..
"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW LAWWWWD!" he moaned..
They sat on the side of the bed with Yvette moving up and down on Gary and experiencing an intense orgasm that brought tears to her eyes and had her head moving from side to side...and her body trembling...
She rode him cowgirl style....and experienced another intense orgasm....one that had her laughing uncontrollably, her head turning from side to side and her body trembling....
"OHHHHHHHHHHH GODDDDDDD GARY, I LOVE YOU SOOOOOO MUCH! DID I TELL YOU THAT?" Yvette moaned..
"AWWWWWWWWW VETTTIE, I LOVE YOU TOOOO!!! UMMMMMMMMM, YESSSSS YESSSSSS!!!OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU YESSSSSSSS!" he moaned..
She had yet another orgasm...
"OHHHHHHHHH MY GODDDD!" she exclaimed..
NINE TO TEN HOURS of sweet lovemaking continued..
When it was over...both Yvette and Gary were sweaty and spent....She lie upon his chest ,with his arms wrapped around her waist.
It had been quite a few days,,,,
Just as Yvette dozed off, she remembered something from court..
Haverford Briscoe ,
The victim's husband...Haverford Briscoe, snarled at Wynne as the bailiffs walked him out towards the bus that would take him to one of the city jails...
"YOU LITTLE SHIT!! BANGIN MY WIFE EH? YOU WON'T GET OUT OF THIS....YOUR LAWYERS AINT GONNA HELP YOU...I'LL SEE TO THAT!" he said.
