The Cookie Monster

PRELUDE-

A Tense Meeting in a downtown conference room...

"I brought you all here because my company is planning a leveraged buyout of all three of your company's.....

"Mikal, your Pies...." she said.

"WHAT?" said Mikal Perkeon, who also owned a Bakery....

"If you look at the documents you'll see everything is legal and above board.."said her attorney,

Gennifer Lee.

"You haven't been paying attention...for the past 2 years I have quietly bought stock and shares in your company and have quietly become no longer a minority owner, but a majority owner...I didn't just do it to you, but to you too Rick...."said Kelly.

"WHATTTT?" said Richard Huff ,who owned a Bagel and Doughnut making company....."YOU CAN'T DO THIS to ME KELLY.." he exclaimed...

"Actually she can, If you look at the documents you'll see everything is legal and above board.."said her attorney, Gennifer Lee.

"I can and I did...and Mr. Bennett, unfortunately, I did the same to you..."she said.

"You Harpie!...You tricked me....You floated me a loan to stay afloat when I got started....then someone started infusing a lot of cash into my business and bought up huge amounts of stock....THAT WAS YOU WASN'T IT? GOTTTTDAMN IT!!! YOU TRICKED ME!" said an angry Robert Bennett.

"Mr. Bennett, Mr. Bennett, this was all legal, perfectly legal....Please calm down." said her attorney ,Gennifer Lee..

Kelly Barnes was the only one at this meeting with legal representation... None of the three other men had any lawyers with them.

"That's business Robert.....I now own your company too....Go along with me and you'll keep your titles and your salaries...Fight me and you're out...Out on the streets." said Kelly Barnes, who owned a Cookie company herself..

"You can't do this!!!!...You can't do this.!!!..I poured my life savings into this business...You can't take it away from me...You Harpie!!! I'll kill you!, I'll kill you!!!" screamed an angry Robert Bennett....

"You're done!!....You are out!!!! I'll be replacing you on Monday Morning..Security, GET HIM THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!"shouted Kelly Barnes...

"You haven't heard the last of me... My Neices are attorneys...You'll be hearing from me again, you lousy SHYSTY Harpie!!! I'LL KILL YOU!!!.... I'LL BURY YOU!!!" screamed Robert Bennett as he was dragged out of the building by security ,cursing, kicking and screaming...

"GET HIM THE HELL OUT OF HERE!!! GET HIM OUTTTTT!" Kelly screamed... "DIRTY STREET HOOD!" she added.

Kelly Barnes composed herself.. "Now!  Anyone else got any comments or disagreements? or feel like calling me names?? Do so at your own financial peril gentlemen...That will be all." she said and got up and left the conference room flanked by bodyguards..

and her Attorney, Gennifer Lee.

 THE NEXT MORNING-

At our Office /Duplex-

We were having breakfast -

''Breakfast is ready." said Alfreda.

"Alfreda , you fine as hell..Jimmy was crazy to give you up girl, gotdamn!"said Robert Bennett.

''Aren't you a married man?" asked Alfreda, unmoved by his come ons...

"Yes he is...and he'd better stop it..Where is Aunt Zelda anyway?" asked Olivia.

"She's kinda mad at me...It concerns this business venture..She told me not to throw our whole life savings in it...but it was a sure thing Liv..a sure thing.." said Robert Bennett.

"You always say that Uncle Robbie and you always wind up on the bad end of these business deals..

Perhaps you should have gone to business school like our Josie here...and you'd understand better how these things work."said Beverly pointing to our Associate Attorney and also a founding partner of this firm, along with Olivia and Beverly.. Josie had an MBA from Wharton , when she met Olivia and Beverly and physically helped them moved things into the office and their upstairs living quarters...She was with them before I was, before Nelson ,before Alfreda and Bresha. She became a para-legal and eventually went to law school and passed the bar..She was very valuable to us.

Josie smiled and filled her plate with eggs....

Beverly's husband, Nelson, Me and Bresha also joined in filling our plates with Eggs, Bacon, Hash browns, Orange juice and Coffee.

''After we finish breakfast...We'll go downstairs and take a look at the paperwork and see if there is anything we can do for you." said Olivia..

'Thanks Neicey Poo" said Robert, hugging her and kissing her on the cheek.. I know your daddy, Alvin, my big bro is somewhere in the here after so proud of his baby girl and his grand baby...Big time Attorneys...got they own firm....What a nice set up." said Robert.

Olivia and Beverly looked at their Uncle...He was indeed a trip, but he was family!  They were duty bound to help him.

 

II-

In our conference room ,Olivia ,Beverly and Josie looked over the documents Uncle Robbie had given them...

"On the surface, it looks like everything she did was above board, perfectly legal...Uncle Robbie..

"But we found a couple of loopholes we can exploit!"said Beverly...

"I knew you guys could find something." said Uncle Robbie.

'Apparently she didn't deal with you in good faith and she used a proxy to infuse cash into your business and then buy up stock...That proxy being revealed to you at a later date, like yesterday....This boarders on fraud..Willful business fraud...It's a slippery slope...but at least, it's something.."said Josie..

"I knew you guys would find something." said Uncle Robbie.

"Like they said, it's a slippery slope, but it might scare her, shake her up a little bit...and then it might not..From the way she went about this....I suspect she had a lawyer work this out.."said Nelson..

"She does have a lawyer...A White Girl, an Ivy League type...Named Gennifer Lee." said Robbie.

"Let me do a little digging...Look into both of them...You say she's done this to two other people.. huh?

Her business practices might be worth looking into..

"If she has a record of these kind of practices, a threat of reporting her to the Better Business Bureau might straighten her out, making you a nice settlement offering..."said Bresha.

"But my company? I've pretty much lost it, huh?"  said Robert...

"I'm afraid so Uncle Robbie." said  Olivia.

"I told his hard headed ass not to throw all of our life savings into that company..He wouldn't listen." came the voice of his wife, Zelda Bennett...his wife..

"AUNT ZELDA!!!!HIIIIII!" said Beverly...

''AUNT ZELDA!" said Olivia.

"ZELDA?? ZELDA BABY!!!"said Robbie..

"Hi Beverly Baby, Hi Liv....Hi Donnie Ray, Nelson, Josie, Bresha.."said Zelda... "Robbie the cops came around looking for you yesterday....Apparently Ms. Barnes and her lawyer complained that you made terroristic threats towards her...She said she felt threatened.. They came back today with a Cease and desist order...You are not to be within 200 feet of her or you'll be arrested."said Zelda.... "I didn't tell the cops, but I figured you'd be Here..." said Zelda..

"That's the only reason you came here?" asked Robert..

"No, I missed you." admitted Zelda..

"I'm inviting you two to stay with us for a few days....I've got a fully furnished apartment in the sub-basement...Carpeted floors, Chest of drawers...Shower/Moni bathroom...A New bed and a wide screen TV... Go home and pack an overnight bag and stay with us until the heat subsides...The Cops don't like my Uncle Robbie... I don't want them hassling him needlessly.. Nelson, Bresha, go with them, Help them pack and bring them back here.."asked Olivia.

"On it Liv" said Nelson...

"We'll take my car." said Bresha.

"Okay."said Nelson as they left, following Zelda and Robbie's car.

"Girls let's sift through these documents and see what we can find..." said Olivia..

"It's times like this, I wish for a nice juicy murder case." said Beverly

"I know right?" laughed Josie,,,

"This is the boring part of law that has to be done...that doesn't make the newspapers or the 11:00 o'clock news, but is just as important ladies." said Olivia, always teaching..

"I'll be back...I'm going to do a little digging." I said.

NIGHTFALL-

Nelson returned home...

"Robbie and Aunt Zelda are all situated downstairs.. We wisely left Zelda's car and Robbie's car in their garage...They got a nice place over there where they live..We brought them back in Bresha's car.."said Nelson.

"That was smart thinking." said Beverly. "Wanna watch some television?" she asked.

"Nah, nothing is on good..."said Nelson, who took his suit jacket off, his socks and shoes and his shirt and pulled Beverly to him and kissed her passionately..

"You're good!" he said, smiling raffishly....and kissing her passionately some more.

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM BEING ON ME IS BETTER THAN WHATEVER IS ON TELEVISION HUH?" laughed Beverly...as they kissed passionately...

"You know it.." said Nelson..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU HAHAHA....UMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!" Beverly moaned and giggled...

"AWWWWW .....AWWWWWW LAWDDDD!" said Nelson...

They continued kissing...

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHH NELSON!!" she moaned..

"MY SWEET SWEET HONEY BUN..." he moaned..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" she cooed..

The kissing got hotter.....Nelson opened up her top and unhooked her bra...kissing and licking her breasts......

"UMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm"Nelson moaned.

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HUSBAND!" she cried out! aroused beyond her control....

His eyes bulged out of their sockets as he saw the panties she was wearing..

"OH MY GODDDD! WHEN DID YOU BUY THESE?" he asked.

"Weeks ago, when we went to the mall in Bayside, before we went to Ocean City..." said Beverly...

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" he moaned....

"You're trying to kill me Bev.." he said as he slipped them down and off..

"You're trying to kill me with that horse you've got in your trousers....ouuuuuuuuuuu Nelson, how does your boxers contain all of that??? WOUUUUUU!" she said..

"It's not easy , especially when you're around....my lord...." he said...

Nelson tossed her on the bed and opened her legs and entered her slowly and softly...As usual, she was so wet and smelled so good that he was losing my mind... She gasped as  they began making love...

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU NELSON!!" she moaned..

"BEVERLY, BEVERLY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME?? AWWWWWWWW LAWWWWWWD!" Nelson  moaned..

"WHAT AM I DOING TO YOU? WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME??UMMMMMMMMMMMMMPH!!!!!" she cooed..

Their bed rocked and squeaked very loudly......the headboard rattled something terrible....

They made sweet,sweet love for the next EIGHT TO NINE HOURS!..

They finished with Beverly lying peacefully on top of Nelson...

"DAMNNN THAT WAS GOOD!! WOWWWW!" said Nelson, trying to catch his breath...

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Nelson, I HAD AN ORGASM LIKE I'VE NEVER HAD BEFORE....WOUUUUU!" she said..her body was still trembling a little bit..

"I CAME SO HARD, I THOUGHT I WAS DYING!" he remarked.

She kissed Nelson slowly and softly.

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM THANK YOU BABY!  Now let's go to sleep" she whispered softly.

They both drifted off to a nice sound sleep!

III-

TWO DAYS LATER-

"Thank you guys for putting us up...These are great accomodations  Neicey Poo!" said Uncle Robbie.

"Yes , it was much better than I expected..This is some operation you guys have here.A sub-basement apartment..A Law Library, A Media room, this office space and you both have great domiciles in which you live...I am impressed...A Great law firm and Olivia and your mother have a catering service and a bus service too...Now my husband should be taking tips from you girls on how to run a successful business."said Zelda.

"Thank you Aunt Zelda" Beverly laughed....Upon further review of this..We have found several very illegal things this woman has done......"said Beverly...

"This is the making of a law suit...a big one...One that may get you your company back and some money from her." said Josie.

"And if we find out her attorney knew about these things and or told her to do things this way, we have grounds for her censure and possible disbarment."said Bresha..

"If we get the two other guys on board...You're looking at a class action suit of major proportions.."said Nelson.

"I knew it...I knew it...I knew once I took this to you guys ,you guys would make some sense out of confusion..."said a jubilant Uncle Robbie..."Hey Liv, what are you doing? You've been quiet."said Robbie.

"I'm doing some research into this woman's attorney..."said Olivia.

"She apparently knows her stuff..So How could she be so careless? She had to know that if another lawyer really looked into this stuff they get dinged...She's put her career in jeopardy..." said Olivia..

"I found out that this woman was friends with Gennifer Lee's mother, a cook at a local restaurant in Kensington, where they both grew up... Gennifer Lee's mother won several cooking and baking contests..but wasn't very good handling her finances... In comes Kelly Barnes, her"friend" with an infusion of cash and sage advice...Pretty soon, Kelly Barnes is running Mrs. Lee's business and mayu or may not have stolen the cookie recipe she now uses as her own in the Barnes Baking Company...

She's a very, very astute businesswoman and has an MBA from Wharton , just like you Josie..although she finished before you were born." I laughed..

"I don't get it...Kelly Barnes stole her mother's recipe and all but took over the business...Why is her daughter , Gennifer Lee working as her attorney and personal assistant..her lap dog?" asked Josie.

"Gennifer worked for a number of successful law firms as you can see on her resume...She was let go from her last one after a salacious affair she was having with the boss's husband came to light...With a number of bills and expenses and no  job...guess who came to the rescue with a  job and money...Ms. Kelly Barnes.." I said.

''She just happens to be in all the right places at just the right times."said Olivia.

"Yeah How about that?" said Bresha.

"Liv, I say we pay Ms. Barnes and Ms. Lee a visit tomorrow."said Nelson.

"Excellent Idea." said Olivia.

"HA HA, WAIT TIL SHE SEES US COME MARCHING IN THERE!!! I TOLD HER , I TOLD HER MY NEICES WERE LAWYERS...SHE DIDN'T BELIEVE ME!"said Uncle Robbie.

"Uncle Robbie, you can't go!!....You're Under Cease and Desist...That's real!  You can still be arrested." said Beverly.

"Bev is right...You stay here with Aunt Zelda.... Let us handle your business."said Olivia.

"Olivia and Beverly are right...Come on down in the Sub-basement with me, where you're safe." said Zelda..

"Okay!"said Uncle Robbie..

Alfreda smiled.

"She and Gennifer Lee are scheduled to be on TV tonight...On Monica Seale's show.. "The Skirt With the Dirt." laughed Nelson...

"Oh Really???...Wellllllll maybe she'll really have some real dirt to talk about...Her own!"laughed Olivia.

IV-

We marched into the conference room with a swagger I'm sure Kelly Barnes hadn't seen in awhile..She was frightened to see six  well dressed Black people in her conference room, unannounced...

"Who...Who are you?" she asked , startled.

Olivia passed her a business card... ''Allow me to introduce myself and my staff... I am Olivia Bennett-Alexander, Attorney at law and I represent, one Robert Bennett... He is my uncle... This is my niece,

"Mrs. Beverly West-East, Attorney at law.. He is her uncle also.

Our Associate Attorney and her husband, Nelson East....

Our Associate Attorney and MBA, Mrs. Josie Boyd...

Our Associate Attorney, Mrs. Bresha Billips...

and my husband, Investigator, Donnie Ray Alexander...." said Olivia.

"Sooooo Robert wasn't lying...He said he was related to some attorneys...and I guess you guys are it huh? Well , I might as well tell you that you've wasted your time coming down here...Everything I've done is perfectly legal." said Kelly Barnes..

''You'd better call your attorney in here....Everything you've done is not perfectly legal."said Olivia.

"And we intend to prove it to you." said Beverly..

throwing the case files and contract on the table..

Gennifer Lee showed up....she wasn't ready for what she was about to face...

Led by Josie, Nelson, Bresha, Beverly and Olivia , they went through the contract and business history she had with Robert Morgan's company line by line and dissected the agreement piece by piece pointing out irregularities and downright illegal business practices that the layman would miss or not understand...Which is why she was never challenged. People were intimidated by her Ivy leauge Attorney and just caved...

TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATER-

Kelly Barnes looked pale.....

"Wha-What do you want?" she asked.

"One, you no longer have any rights to My Uncle's company...It is his again and he is re-installed as it's CEO.... Two , we want 3.5 million paid by you to him for his extreme agony and pain that he went through losing his company...." said Olivia.

"THAT'S BLACKMAIL...I WON'T PAY A RED CENT!!" snarled Kelly Barnes..

"Ohhhhhh you'll pay or we'll take this to the Better Business Bureau and expose what you've done with those other companies.... It'll cost you a whole lot more in the long run." said Beverly...

''And Ms. Lee, you should know better than this..But nice try....You can take this to court if you want, but we'll win...I guarantee it and then if the Legal Ethics Board finds out what you did...you can be censured and possibly disbarred....Now you think about that."said Nelson..

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GOOD GOLLY MS. MOLLY....I HAVE TO REALLY THINK ON THIS!" said Kelly Barnes... "He can have his old raggedy company back...but the money....I'll have to let you know...I have to think on this." said Kelly Barnes..

''Don't think too long. If we don't have an answer in 24 hours, expect a law suit...."said Josie..

''Then it'll be out of your hands." said Bresha.

''Good Day Ms. Barnes...Ms. Lee..Nice Conference Office you have here."said Olivia as she left.

Kelly Barnes immediately pulled out her laptop to look us up..

''Guess He's the Black Sheep of the family! What are we going to do?"asked Gennifer.

"Give him back his company....The money however is negotiable...They're attorneys..They understand that...a 1.5 million dollar payoff and a promise from them to keep this quiet...I don't want this to go to court.. Come on...We've got a television appointment tonight." she said..

That night we had a joyous dinner at our Office /Duplex..

Everyone was laughing and eating and enjoying a piping hot well prepared dinner..

"Liv I don't know how you do it...Go out win a big case and then come home and cook a great meal like this.."said Alfreda..

"Yes indeed...everything was delicious Liv." said her husband, Rockland..

"Thank you!" said Olivia.

"My Nieces are magic that's why...I knew once they got to the bottom of this the tide would change..I just wish I had been there to see the look on Kelly Barnes's fat face." said Uncle Robbie.

"I'm glad you weren't there...You'd of caused a scene... Thank you Olivia, Beverly , everybody...You've got your company back..."said Zelda.

"We asked for 3.5 million.. I expect they are going to try and negotiate it down to no less than 1.5 million...but it will be cash to infuse into your business." said Olivia.

''And Josie and another Attorney We know will show you how to invest it, make it grow, keep you solvent Uncle Robbie." said Beverly.

''All good stuff." I said..rubbing my belly... I was full..

So was Nelson , who smiled.

''This was a very good day.."said Josie.

''WOW! I sure wish I had been there."said her husband, Paris.

"Just another day in the life of lawyers, representing the down trodden."said Bresha.

"For Sure." agreed her husband, Tony.

"It sure was nice seeing you guys again these past few days Uncle Robbie, Aunt Zelda"said Cousin Kayla...who with her husband, Ray were our dinner guests tonight.

"It was nice seeing you too precious"said Aunt Zelda.

"You play a mean game of Spades." laughed Ray...

"Olivia's father, my big bro taught me the game...Taught them too!"laughed Uncle Robbie.

''When you guys are ready to go home tonight..Kayla and I can run you home.." offered Ray..

"Thank you Ray...Thank you all for all of your help." said Zelda.

And at the Television Studio-

"Hello Philadelphia, This is Monica Seale, Your skirt with the dirt. Today we are interviewing  the future Cookie Baron of Philadelphia...Ms. Kelly Barnes...Pleased to have you and your attorney Ms. Gennifer Lee on our show.." she said.

"Pleased to be here.." said Kelly..

"Yes pleased to be here.We are big fans of your show." said Gennifer Lee.

"I understand you not only own the biggest and most successful cookie company in the city but you are about to begin a leverage buy out of three other large cookie companies...making you the "Cookie Monster" laughed Monica Seale.

"Ha HA HA....some would call me other not so tasteful names...but I prefer to be known as Philadelphia's Queen of Cookies."laughed Kelly Barnes..

"And I understand you are debuting your newest Cookie tonight on my show huh?" asked Monica.

''Yes it's called my Everything but the kitchen sink cookie, because I've thrown everything in the batch."laughed Kelly..

''Andddd we just happen to have some of these delicious cookies here tonight...would you have one with me?? MMMMMM" she said as she munched on a cookie.

"Oh yes....don't mind if I do...Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!" she said as she munched  on a cookie.. "WOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" she yelled out....

All of a sudden, Kelly grabbed her chest....She turned blue almost...She began convulsing, she stood up, did the Cabbage Patch,  and then hit the floor with a huge thud...

Her legs kicked wildly in the air.....exposing her slip and her panties, then they dropped and then all movement stopped...

"Oh My God! Oh My God! Somebody get a doctor....GO TO COMMERCIAL!! GO TO A DAMN COMMERCIAL!!! OHHHH LORD!" screamed Monica Seale..

A medic ran over and took Kelly's pulse...
