Until Further Notice

 TWO DAYS LATER- First Day of Preliminary hearings in the Involuntary Manslaughter trial of Mellisa Lewis.

Mellisa Lewis sighed as we all waited in court...

"I just want to get this over with, live my life again.." she said.

She was no longer staying with her boyfriend...She was back at her place and still working at Josie's Bar.

"We have a big enough argument prepared that we may win this in the preliminary Mellissa... The ADA has nothing and everybody seems to know this." said Olivia.

"Yeah, Everybody but her." laughed Beverly...

I looked at my watch...

"She's 15 minutes late...She should have been here..Where is she?" I asked.

"This isn't like her...She's eager beaver most of the time.."said Nelson...

"Judges do not like it when Attorneys are late for their hearings." whispered Josie to Bresha

who had been like a sponge, soaking everything up... We had been paying her a small stipend to help with her rent , groceries and car payments...

Olivia told me that everybody didn't pay their clerks....But the nice ones did...Clerks needed that extra money in the early days when they'd just passed the bar and needed to find a job as a working attorney..

Luckily, our firm puled in enough money that we could afford to break Bresha off a few dollars, make the good work she was doing for us worthwhile...

Judge Percy Reynolds walked out... He was always glad to see Olivia and her niece Beverly...He saw that the entire team was assembled today...

"Good Morning...I have uh bad news for you...I know you guys wanted to get this over with, but uh...Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Thorne  was called back to Oklahoma to attend to a personal matter...She'll be gone for a few weeks, so this case will be postponed until further notice.." he said.

"Awwwww I'm sorry this happened...I know you wanted to get this over with, but look, you're not in jail..You're working and not likely to be hassled by Lt. Tragg...And We got you...We are not letting you spend another day in jail behind this." assured Beverly..

"I trust you guys...Heyy, will I see you guys at Aqua Bar tomorrow?" she asked...

Nelson laughed.."You work at Josie's and you're talking about going to Aqua Bar" he laughed..

"Heyyyyyy, it aint nothin but a job....You guys don't partner up with other attorneys from other firms from time to time?" asked Mellissa, smiling..

"I like the way this girl thinks...All the time." laughed Beverly...

"She's my kinda girl.." laughed Josie..

"These things happen sometimes Bresha, an Attorney of either side calls for a continuance..or has a family emergency and a trial gets postponed until further notice..Lucky for us..Our client is free on bail and doesn't have to sit in jail awaiting a new trial date...Everybody isn't that lucky... Don't worry, We have other cases and I'm going to get you work with some of our friends...And we'll still keep paying you a stipend until the trial date is announced.."said Olivia.

"You guys are the best.."said Bresha , who was becoming very close to us...

I decided I was going to find out what that family emergency was...

Lt. Tragg was a lot mellower now of days...He didn't seem as riled up over this case as he had other cases..

He was his old handsy self in court appearences with ADA Jennifer Thorne..running his hands up her skirt, rubbing her legs and tugging on the waistband of her panties...

Unlike others...She didn't seem to mind...and met with him in the Judges Chambers after some of the hearings..

for kissing and make out sessions...

And At his house for some crazy lovemaking..

.Lt. Tragg had Jennifer bent over his bathroom sink , while he plowed into her..

"OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!! OHHHHHHHHHHHH MY GODDDDDDD!!!" she moaned....

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM..ARGHHHHHHHHHHH!" he moaned.

They were rocking so hard the foundation of the sink was coming apart..

and within an hour they were on the living room floor..

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH   LIEUTENANT...OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" she screamed..

"GEEEEEEEEEZ!" he yelled... "I'VE BEEN WANTING TO GET YOU IN THE SACK SINCE I MET YOU!!! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!" he screamed.. as she banged both of her fist on the floor...

"I KNOWWWWW...I KNEW IT THE FIRST TIME WE SAT IN COURT....YOU WERE SO HANDSY!" she said.. "OH MY GODDDDDDDD...I'M LOSING MY MINDDDDDD!" she said.

Lt. Tragg was near delirium.....

"OUUUUUUUUU I'M CUMMING!!" she yelled as her legs began to shake furiously and she moved her head from side to side...sweat and tears just flowing down her face..

Lt. Tragg was sweating profusely...

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMM!" he moaned..

" Lieutenant ,ARE YOU ON SOMETHING? CIALIS???, VIAGRA???? MY GOODNESSS..." she exclaimed..

They sat on the side of the bed and she moved up and down on him...kissing passionately.....

and finally made it to the bed...

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LIEUTENANT!!! OUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" she squealed with delight..

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SWEEET BABYYYYY!" he moaned..

They made passionate love for the next EIGHT TO NINE HOURS!   Jennifer had had several orgasms and Lt. Tragg came with wild abandon.....

"I'M ABOUT TO BLOW MY LOAD..OHHHHHHHHARGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHH!" he yelled..

She cuddled up under him and he held her in his arms as they both drifted off into a deep sleep.

He was preoccupied with thoughts of her and confounded...She had told him nothing about any "Family Emergency" in Oklahoma...In fact, he didn't even know she was from Oklahoma..

I knew..I all about Norma Jennifer Gibson, now known as Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Thorne of Boley, Oklahoma.

Aqua Bar was good for Bresha..

She enjoyed the crowds, the music, the cheap drinks..

And the Salsa and Tacos...

And it gave ,Beverly, Nelson ,Josie and Paris a chance to introduce her to other attorneys

Jasmine and Dabnis Coley, who lived right across the street from us.. She loved it and she loved our area with it's three shopping centers and it's three clubs, Josie's, Aqua Bar and Stoleys//

Which we all hung out in..

She had already met Kayla and Ray...

Olivia took Bresha downtown to McCluskey/ Cozen/ Connor & Pratt

The law firm that was home to her "Very best friend in the world and law school room-mate 

Senior Associate Attorney, Yvette Jones... Yvette took Bresha under her wing, just as Olivia had and she grew to love "Vettie " just as much as she did "Liv"

She had already met Keith, Bee Bee, Sofia and Kahlil..and now she met their investigator, Jade..They worked a successful but tough case together for two weeks..They loved her...

Yvette and her guys raved about her.. Yvette paid her a stipend also...So she was getting two stipends, one from us and one from her.

Jazzy and Kayla took Bresha with them for a week..She helped them out at their law firm and Helped ADA Karen Page out at the  WRONGFUL CONVICTION UNIT.  Like Yvette and her crew, they loved her and she got two stipends from working there..She loved them too!

She even worked with Kayla's husband, Ray St. Jacques for a few days ...His firm didn't give her a stipend, but he paid her out of his pocket, saying.."She was a godsend that week she worked with him.

She was back with us soon and we had a new case..

A case brought to us by Jessica Sanchez Burrows and her husband, Chip Burrows..

It was a wrongfully convicted case ...

Jazzy's husband, Dabnis Coley worked with us on this case..

Which we took to the Wrongful Conviction Unit in front of Karen Page.

We successfully got the conviction overturned.....

At the end of the month... Bresha raved..

"Ms. Olivia, Ms. Beverly...This has been the best internship of my life...I've learned so much and got to work with such amazing attorneys...Wowwww." she said..

''I told you I'd keep you busy.."said Olivia

"And our friends pay...You've got a little money in your pockets." I said smiling.

"That's the best part."said Bresha..

"I know that's right." laughed Beverly, hugging her.

III-

We  celebrated with a nice dinner at our domicile..

We had Barbecued Ribs and Fries...

and cokes...It was a small crowd(For us) tonight..Bresha, Me and Liv, Bev and Nelson and Josie and Paris.

"Well Bresha, good news...ADA Jennifer Thorne is back in town..We may just finish that case up in a few days...Apparently her estranged husband found her...He asked for a divorce...She went home to work some things out and she's back..."I said.

''Wowwwww I've worked on so many other cases and with so many other lawyers, I nearly forgot all about that case."laughed Bresha.

''I think we all have..But Mellissa hasn't....her life has been hanging in the balance..Tomorrow we are all going to have a refresher course downstairs in the conference room..." said Olivia..

"I haven't heard from Mellissa in about a month...I'm going to call her tomorrow."said Beverly..

"Yeah, I know she just wants to get this over with.."said Nelson...

"I can imagine."said Josie..

"It's pouring down raining tonight..."said Paris.

The rain was coming down...

Olivia looked at her niece...She knew how she hated to be alone on nights like this..And how after we first got married, We let her come upstairs and sleep in our extra room... 

Now Beverly had a husband

....And to make matters better...

Josie and Paris would be sleeping over in the extra room in her domicile tonight..

"Bree" as we now called her, didn't stay with us every night...but was staying with us tonight..

We were all snug as a bug tonight..

IV-

A FEW DAYS LATER- First Day of Preliminary Hearings in the Involuntary Manslaughter trial of Mellissa Williams.

ADA Jennifer Thorne was back and arguing compellingly, desperately, but compellingly why Barmaid Mellissa Lewis should be held responsible and liable for Roderick Hampton's murder of his  estranged  wife and her lover and then his suicide on New Years Day. She argued that she served him well over the legal limit of drinks, which led to his drunken rampage..

Olivia, Beverly and Nelson argued spiritedly that  Roderick Hampton  and his wife had a history of marital discord as evidenced by the many restraining orders taken out against him...They argued that he was a ticking time bomb waiting to explode...

"I can see they've worked together a long time...They way they finish each other's sentences, the way they trust each other...It's incredible." said Bresha, watching in amazement..

"They amaze me and I've been around them for years...Especially Olivia and Beverly's chemistry.."I said.

Josie and Olivia argued to throw the entire case out...Citing that it was meritless and giving several reasons..

But ADA Jennifer Thorne wouldn't let it go, she continued to argue her point...

Even Lt. Tragg thought that her argument was kind of extreme...She was just a barmaid...She served the guy some drinks...He didn't feel she was responsible for him killing his wife and her boyfriend...but he said nothing..He was glad she was back....He snaked his hand up under her dress...He had a pleased as punch look on his face...She removed it several times..

''Lieutenant, STOP IT!  STOP IT PLEASE!"she said...She was losing her argument..

Finally Judge Percy Reynolds ruled..

"Okay..There is enough here to warrant Mellissa Lewis be held over for trial... It's Thursday...Trial will begin promptly on Monday at 9:00 am..Be on time, and be ready for trial." he said and and banged his gavel.

"I don't believe this bitch....She really intends to run wild with this nonsense." said Mellissa.

"I can't believe it either..."said Olivia,.

''She desperately needs to win this case and to beat us..Now it's a personal thing."said Beverly..

"We are going to bury her." said Nelson..

'I can't wait to start preparing for this trial..This ought to be easy."said Josie..

"I'm going to do a little more digging." I said.

''Wow! You guys...You guys are something else." said Bresha..who was enjoying every minute of her internship..

Lt. Tragg grabbed ADA Jennifer Thorne and pulled her into the judges chambers..

''Come Here baby...Where  have you been.? asked Lieutenant Tragg

"Lieutenant....Ohhhhhhh!"she moaned..

as they kissed for a few minutes...

"Lieutenant....I-I can't...We..We can't do this...Not now.....I-I'll explain...Later." she said and she ran out of the Judges Chambers down the hall..

Lt. Tragg looked perplexed as he watched her run out of the courthouse...

"Crazy Broad!" he thought.

"Don't worry Mellissa , this case is so nonsensical, it won't last a week.."said Olivia.

"I can't believe it's lasted this long."said Mellissa.

''Me neither, to tell you the truth." I said.

"I need a drink." sighed Mellissa.

''It's not Salsa Night but it will be poppin at Aqua Bar Girlie! Five D.J.'s..." said Beverly...

"No Better time to party than right now."said Nelson.

"That's righhhhhhttttt!" said Josie.

"I'm with it.."said Mellissa.

"We'll see you there." said Bresha.

AQUA BAR!! HOURS LATER!

It wasn't Salsa And Taco Night, But Aqua Bar was packed.. They had five D.J.'s tonight...These were the same five who had just been at Josie's Bar the night before , drawing a huge crowd.. Josie's had live music tonight..So they were here..

"Weeeeeeee I love this...That;s my song."said Bresha.

"That's my jam tooo girl." said Mellissa.

Tonight Aqua Bar was poppin as they say...It was crowded and both Bresha and Mellissa let their hair down, drinking and dancing with multiple guys and enjoying themselves..

"Both Bree and Mellissa are really having a good time tonight...The guys are on them!"observed Beverly..

"New Meat....They appear to be single...Although I know Mellissa isn't, but her man aint here, So the guys are like sharks.." said Nelson..

"Bree has worked hard the past month, she deserves to let her hair down a bit.."said Josie..

"Yeah and Mellissa has had to deal with these bullshit charges...I mean, I would be majorly stressed out."said Paris..

Some more of our friends just happened to come in... Keith and Bee Bee, , Sofia and Kahlil and Jessica and Chip.

"Hey Guys, I see your girl is out there cuttin up."said Keith Jones, talking about Bree, who was dancing with two guys...

Bee Bee laughed.. "Your client isn't doing too bad either..." she said.

''We heard your case is back on....I know you guys want to get this over with."said Sofia..

"Come on, let's dance...That's my song ."said Kahlil..

"That's my song too, come on papi."said Jessica.

"Okay, but I wanted to grab a beer first."said  Chip..

"Heyyyyyyyyyy"said Kayla, who was coming in with her husband, Ray..

"Heyyyy other sexy Bennett Woman."joked Ray..

"Heyy Ray...Heyyy Boo Boo!" said Beverly, hugging Kayla...

"Heyyyyyy folks.."said Dabnis..

"Whuttttttts UP??????" said his wife Jazzy...

It was quite obvious where the youngins were tonight..

and a few blocks away at Josies..

It was no less crowded....

A live band from out of Detroit was here tonight...

Olivia and I sat alone in a booth, kissing passionately, ignoring the show...The ice in our drinks melting..

"Ummmmm are you having a good time?" she asked me..

"I always have a good time when I'm with you.." I said..

"Thanks for taking me out tonight Gary, I know you 'd rather stay home.."said Yvette..

"Nah Baby...I wanted to come out tonight too...Long as I was with you.."said Gary...

''Awwwwwwwwww" said Yvette and they too began kissing passionately..

Jade and Danny Ho weren't saying anything...Just sitting quietly and kissing ..

also seated inside Josie's, a Black club basically was ADA Jennifer Thorne and another man, her husband..

"I love this kinda music..." said Roy Thorne.

''You always did..It's a wonder we didn't get lynched..Being the only white couple in so many Black clubs in Boley..."laughed Jennifer who spotted Olivia and me across the room..

We were still kissing...

"Music is the international language darlin...It crosses racial boundaries.." said her husband Roy...

"Well when you move up here you'll fit right in because a lot of my colleagues and adversaries are African-American." said Jennifer Thorne, still staring at us..

Particularly, Olivia...

"Love that dress she's wearing.." she said to herself..

Was this the calm before the storm?  We'd see!
