Bresha (Reposted from 2021, one of my favorite Short Stories)

 

 

 Early Saturday Morning, Attorney Bresha Williams visited the Cemetary....

She took flowers to the graves of her mother and father...

and her identical twin sister , who died during childbirth that she never got to know...Brittany...

and to her beloved auntie...The Activist Lawyer , in whose footsteps she has followed , Her murdered Aunt Juanita Townsend..Who was beaten and tossed in the river . Her murder had remained unsolved for many years until her new friends, Olivia Bennett-Alexander , Beverly West-East, Nelson East, Josie Boyd and especially Olivia's husband, Donnie Ray Alexander solved the mystery and discovered not only what happened, but who killed her.

The dirty cop who murdered her..

Detective Phil Marlow was arrested and convicted and sentenced to Life, No Parole....

Bresha had bought her a brand new headstone...She didn't want Aunt Juanita to ever be forgotten...She was a hero....Her hero.

That's why she followed her into the law..and became an Attorney...

She kneeled at the graves...

"Hi Mommy, Daddy, Brittany and Auntie Juanita... I know I should come and visit you more often than I do...but I'm here... I want you all to know that I'm alright now....I graduated from Law school and passed the bar... I sure wished you all could have been there to see me... I made some new friends.. a lot of friends...who have been helping me with my career...

Namely, Ms. Oliva, her niece Beverly, Beverly's husband, Nelson , Josie and Olivia's husband, Mr. Donnie Ray.. I've been interning at their law firm for most of the year

 and the other day when I came to work they were all standing around the conference room table.

I had an uneasy feeling, until I saw them all smiling..

''Bree, When I started this law firm , it was just me and my niece, Beverly

My husband, Donnie Ray, our investigator and Josie...And Josie wasn't even a lawyer yet...She was our Administrative Assistant/Office Manager... 

She had a degree in Architecture and a Masters in Business..We figured she wasn't going to stay with us long..but she became a para-legal and then entered law school and I knew we had our third attorney....

Nelson had been working with Bev and me since we all were Public Defenders... He was working for another law firm...I used to hire him as a "consultant" on certain cases...I kept telling him, I was going to steal him and make him one of my attorneys one day...and after he married my niece that day came and Nelson became the fourth attorney...

I had one last space available ...I had an idea of who I might hire..and then I met you...First in your class at Middleton Law School...The only one at your graduation with no family to cheer you on...I felt so bad for you...I was there when you passed the bar..again, no family to cheer you on... So...I made you offer of an internship... You have done exceedingly well.. There is nothing more I can teach you...You're on your way to being a fine attorney and long story short....I would...We all would like you to become one of our attorneys.." said Olivia..

My eyes got as wide as saucers...

"You're offering me a job?/ Full time??" I said..

''That's exactly what we are doing" said Mr. Donnie Ray, who hugged me..

"OHHHH THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! I ACCEPT!!!" I said, tearing up...

"Welcome to the firm...You're already part of the family." said Beverly, hugging me..

''Welcome to the firm Bree...We love you." said Josie..

''Welcome Bree" said Nelson.

''Welcome to the firm baby!" said Ms. Alfreda, Beverly's mom and present office manager.

''Welcome Bree..It was a unanimous vote..We all wanted you to be part of us." said Mr. Donnie Ray.

"I cried uncontrollably...I never felt so loved, so wanted."Said Bresha.

She kneeled down at her Aunt's grave...

"Oh Yeah Auntie..Mom, Dad, Brittany....I'm engaged!!!  I'm going to be a married woman!" said Bresha.

II-

Bresha smiled..

"I know this is a lot to swallow... His Name is Tony, Anthony Billips.. He was in my law school class..

We had flirted with each other mildly for two years of our three years of law school..I always thought he was cute, but he never made a move..I thought he wasn't interested until one night...

While at Stoleys Night Club...

Beverly gently removed Nelson's hands from under her skirt....He had been rubbing her legs and palming her butt all night long.. Not that she didn't mind..but lately, she had become paranoid about being caught in public ,having sex... Pinkney had been caught near naked in Judge Wong's chambers,

Lt. Tragg and Julie Baisden had been caught in the buff in down stroke, again in Judge Wong's chambers and she and Nelson had been nearly caught by cops in their car on an off street just weeks ago.

Nelson understood, but he found his wife irresistable....Something she cherished in him, She tried to keep him pacified with a kiss.

Meanwhile  Josie and Paris were in a corner, up against the wall kissing passionately..

They were going back to Josie's place tonight.....

I felt like the third wheel... I  missed Pinkney and was actually tempted to call him and come over..Even make it clear that it was strictly about sex, when I heard my name being called..

"BRESHA....BRESHA WILLIAMS IS THAT YOU DOLL?" came the voice.

It was the voice of Anthony...Anthony Billips...He and I had graduated from law school together..

"Hey girl...How you doing?" he said.

"Hey Tony...The last time I saw you was the day we were taking the bar..."I laughed.

"Yeah girl, that was some day huh? , Raining like hell....So uh...I heard you got the dream internship...Interning for Olivia Bennett-Alexander and Beverly West  and their team huh??..WOWWW!!" he said.

in fact, that's Beverly West and her husband, Nelson East over there isn't it?" asked Tony Billips.

Nelson and Beverly were still kissing very passionately...

I smiled...

"Yeah ,that's them...I 've been interning with them...They pay well too! And the education I've been getting, going on and taking part in cases with them...You should see this case we are on now.."I said. stopping there.. I knew not to discuss an open case with an outsider...even though Tony and I had known each other all three years of law school and even a year before that in undergrad at 

Lassalle University.

"I interned for a Judge...He not only didn't pay...All he had me doing was sitting in on his cases that he was trying...Then I interned for another Judge, he did pay! and pay well!!!...His wife kept hitting on me..She was nice looking for an older lady, but I couldn't do it.. I needed dough though...I was close to being evicted from my apartment, So I started working with this law firm in Cherry Hill..The drive is kind of a hump every morning over that bridge...but the pay is great...It's nice making rent and car payments and credit card payments on time and still havin a little dough left over to save or you know, have a good time..I've even tried a couple of cases in court on my own! said Tony.

"WOW!!!!Tony that's great !!! I've been so busy working cases with Olivia and Bev that I haven't been looking at any prospects..I guess I would if I was strapped for cash, but they've been paying me well, plus they had me working for some of their lawyer friends on lean weeks and they've been paying me too...So I'm doing okay."I laughed.

"Sweet...You know Bree....I uh...I uh have always uh wanted to uh ...Well look...I have tickets to a comedy club tomorrow night..Guy I work with at my firm has a girlfriend who does comedy on the side..She's an Attorney too...He can't make it tomorrow night, so he gave me two tickets...I wasn't gonna go..but I ran into you and look, I've always found you attractive and always wanted to take you out and uh ...." said Tony..

"Is that your way of asking me for a date ? I remember you being smoother than that with the ladies Tony...hee hee.. I'll go out with you.. It's a date...Okay?" I laughed .

"Ohhhh bet...Then it's a date.." he said.

"Pick me up at seven...You know where I live ! You don't smoke weed do you?"I asked..

"Well I uh used to get down back in the day, but I haven't smoked weed in years..Not since High School really."said Tony..

"You don't have a secret girlfriend do you?" I asked.

"Nah!  I'm uh hoping I can make you my girlfriend..ooops..too soon, I shouldn't have said that..." he laughed.

"It's Okay....You've  answered all of my questions just right..."said Bresha..

I  rewarded him with a soft kiss.....

"Wowww you got soft lips...and I like the taste of whatever lipstick you have on..." he said...

"Ouuuuuuuuu you're closer than you think to your goal.." I laughed as we continued kissing..

We've been seriously dating since then..That was in April....

I should have figured out what was happening.. Tony and Donnie Ray had been talking a lot lately..

Donnie Ray in addition to be our firm's investigator, is also a musician on the side and is a a broker for a jeweler...He's a man of many talents...

A week after I accepted the offer to become an Associate Attorney at Olivia and Beverly's firm..They took me out to lunch at one of their favorite little Bistro's..

Beverly explained to me to she and Nelson got engaged in this very place and how she thought she was coming here for someone else's engagement party and it turned out to be her own.. I thought the story was sooo sweet..

Naturally Nelson, Donnie Ray, Olivia, Josie and Paris were in attendance..

But what surprised me was our other friends were here also.. Ms. Yvette, her husband, Gary, Keith and Bee Bee, Sofia and Kahlil, Ms. Jade and her boy friend, Lt. Danny Ho...

It was a work day in the middle of the week..Why were they all here having lunch at the same place.?? " I wondered..

When Kayla, Ray, Jazzy, Dabnis, Jessica and Chip walked in, I knew something was up........

''Why do I have the feeling this is about me? It is isn't it?" I asked.

''Wellllllllll partially." said Ms. Olivia with a sly grin,

When Ms. Alfreda and her boyfriend, ADA Rockland Cambridge walked in with expensive champaigne and 24 glasses, now I knew something was up...

Tony walked in...WHAT WAS HE DOING HERE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK?? HE SHOULD STILL BE IN CHERRY HILL!!!!

The room got quiet....He walked over to me and got down on one knee..

"Tony?? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?? WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? OH MY GODDDDD!" I said.  I realized what was going on...

He pulled out a beautiful ring and placed it on my finger...

''Bree!  I uh mean , Bresha, will you marry me babe?" asked Tony....

"Oh Yess...Yesssss...I'd be honored to be your wife..." I found myself saying..

Everybody stood up and applauded and whistled...

Our meals came out... It was beautiful...

Tony and I kissed, devouring each other's lips....It was a beautiful event..

III-

"So you see guys...I am doing alright...Finished school, got a new job, got great friends and am engaged...I want you all to rest easy now and continue to be my guardian angels." she said softly..

She took one last look at her late aunt's gravesite..

and her mother, father and twin sister's graves...

She got up and walked out of the graveyard and got in her car and pulled off...

She headed home..

As she drove past her fiance's home... She saw him talking to two women... Realtors, Sepia Morris and Bonita Foxworth..

"Ms. Sepia, Ms. Bonita...This is my fiance..Bresha...Bresha, these are realtors...Since we are getting married, I 've decided to look for a home for us.." said Tony..

Everyday she liked him more and more...He was way more mature and forward thinking than most guys she had known...They'd been engaged for little more than two weeks and he was already looking at a home.

"I know them...You guys sold my new employer, Olivia Bennett-Alexander her place."said Bresha.

''We sold houses to everybody on her block,

 Kayla and Ray, Yvette and Gary, Jessica and Chip, Keith and Bee Bee , Sofia and Kahlil and Ms. Jade.." said Sepia Morris. "They love those houses on that block and the playground ,right across from it..

''We sold Dabnis and Jasmine Coley their house too... 

"Their House is caty cornered to that block the others live on...

I imagine you might want to uh live close to all of them too and if you do we have a couple of homes for sale you can look at next week in both blocks.." said Bonita..

"Ouuuu that will be great.." said Bresha.

After they left, Bresha walked into Tony's apartment.. Half of her clothes were there in his closet, since she spent the night with him, four nights a week..

"I feel like I live here with you already..." Bresha laughed.. "You Hungry?" she asked..

Tony turned and smiled and pulled her toward him..

''As a matter of fact,I am a little horny...I haven't spent the night with you in about four days." he said.

"I said Hungry goofball, not horny...but since you uh mentioned it...I have missed you a little." she said.

"Just a little baby?" he asked..

"Okay, maybe more than a little." she giggled..

as they kissed passionately.....

"Where were you today?" he asked in between kisses..

"At the cemetery with my peeps....I told everybody all about you...and my new job, everything.." she said in between kisses..

''Did you tell em I've got a huge penis and I'd just love to put it inside you.?"he asked, laughing raffishly...

"Noooooooooo I don't talk nasty like that to my people." she laughed..

"You're wearing that lipstick I like." he said.

''Am I?" she said.

There was no more laughing...They fell up against the wall ,kissing passionately...They both were terribly horny... He, having not had any sex in four days and the same for her..was terribly aroused and horny as well.

He unzippered and removed her dress and his clothes seemed to melt off of him... He had his hands down into her panties ,squeezing her butt and kissing her, while she was quite pleased with his size and girth and stroked his penis with her soft hands, which was driving him insane..

He tossed her panties and bra on the chair , next to her previous pair...She did practically live here...

He bent her over his kitchen sink and began stroking her with wild abandon...

"OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AND YOU DON'T KNOW HOW BAD I NEED THIS...

OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!" she  bellowed to the top of her lungs.....

They were soon on the kitchen floor going at it...

"YES...YES...YES...YES..YES...OUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU YESSSSSSSSSSS!" Bresha screamed...

She was having an intense orgasm...

"AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MYYY GODDDD!" he moaned..

They retreated to his couch ,where Bresha moved up and down on him slowly...

and kissed him softly...as she rode him slowly.....She had yet another intense orgasm!!!

and finally to his bed,

 where they made sweet love for the next NINE TO TEN HOURS! 

She felt a warmth and contentment she hadn't felt in a long time..

He fell asleep between her legs..After awhile..she fell asleep too! A very peaceful sleep.

This had been a really good two weeks for her!

IV-

A WEEK LATER-

 Bresha gathered up every bit of clothing she had over at Tony's apartment and took them to the dry cleaners...and everything else went to the cleaners...

She noticed Jasmine Coley also doing laundry...

"Bree, how are you?" said Jazzy, who hugged her and spun her around..

''Congratulations on getting the permanent job with Liv and Beverly...We knew you were going to get it..NOBODY INTERNS AS LONG AS YOU DID!" she laughed.. "Liv  and Bev were just trying to see if you were the right fit and it turns out..you are!!! Oh and Congratulations on your upcoming wedding too...Girl, this is just your month! Your year!!!  I'm so happy for you...We all love you...Welcome to the family..we are all fam on these two blocks.."said Jazzy..

"You and I are going to be neighbors soon...Tony and I settled on a house, two doors from you and Dabnis." said Bresha.

Thinking of their soon to be home...

"Ouuuuuuu that is soooooo cool...Now we won't be the only ones on our block...Seems like everybody lives on Liv and Bev's street..Now we got cool neighbors too!"laughed Jazzy ,hugging Bree..

''We have to have you and Tony over for dinner soon." she said.

"That'll be nice.." said Bresha...

''My Husband and Ray love Tony..." added Jazzy..

as both women put their clothes in the dryer...

Bresha felt good , being part of this "Family " of lawyers... She had dreaded the day her internship might come to an end and she'd have to leave them...even though they assured her she would always be welcome...it somehow wouldn't have been the same.

Now she no longer had to fear...she was an official Associate Attorney of Alexander and West Attorneys at law...Her new associates were

Olivia Bennett-Alexander and Beverly West-East, her bosses, who were more like sisters and girlfriends than bosses..

Donnie Ray Alexander, Investigator, a combonation of Surrogate Father/Big Brother /Uncle to her..

and her colleagues,

Nelson, another Big Brother to her..

and Josie girl, another sister...

and of course Ms. Alfreda..

Beverly's biological mom and mom to everybody in the firm...

Bresha was honored to be part of this firm... And Just Happy to be alive at this moment!
