A Morning in Philadelphia Superior Court....The Honorable Judge Micheal ''Slappy"Sanderson was presiding...

''Ms. Bennett do you wish to begin your defense of Mr. Peterson at this time?" he asked..

Attorney Kayla Bennett, the cousin of my good friends, Olivia Bennett-Alexander and Beverly West

was representing the defendant , who clearly was not in attendance in the courtroom...

"Your Honor...While I am ready to present the defense of my client...As you can see, My client is not here today..." she said..

''Yes, I can see that...In fact this is the second day your client has failed to show.." said Judge Micheal ''Slappy"Sanderson, staring at Kayla's breasts and marveling at her shape..

"Yes I know...He had to fly out to Seattle for some business and his plane got delayed...They've been having really bad torrential rains...It's been on the News...His flight to Philly has been delayed for at least 12 hours or he would have been here...I'd like to ask the court for a continuance until such time as my client can attend your honor.."said Kayla..

 "NO!" said Judge Micheal ''Slappy"Sanderson.

 Kayla seemed incredulous....A month before...She and this same man met for drinks at a Tony little outside bar...He had seen her in court and had been a little chatterbox...Talking her ears off..

"The court does not have to grant you anything Ms. Bennett...Now If anything...I could hold your client in contempt of court..." said the Judge...

Kayla angrily stood up and stomped her foot..

"YOU CAN'T DO THAT!" she said..

''Sit down Ms. Bennett...Another word and I'll find you in contempt of court.." he snarled..

"CONTEMPT OF COURT??? YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING!" said Kayla ,who was angry beyond belief...She knew what this was...

"THAT'S IT...I FIND YOU IN CONTEMPT!!!  BAILIFF.....TAKE MS. BENNETT TO A HOLDING CELL!" he snarled..

In her entire legal career..She had never been held in contempt or jailed...She looked at him as the two bailiff's escorted her out...

She said to him...

"Perhaps this might have gone different if I had let you feel me up a bit more huh?"

"GET HER OUT OF MY SIGHT!!!...ONE MORE WORD OUT OF YOU AND THAT WILL BE TWO DAYS MS.BENNETT." he said...

My name is Kevin Morris...I'm a Private Investigator...When I'm not running my company...Morris Communications and Investigations...

I sometimes do investigatory work for Attorney Kayla Bennett....

"No she's in jail!!  I gotta go bail her out.." I said..

"In Jail?" asked Sepia..

"Contempt of Court...She spoke out of term to a Judge...It happens to the best Attorneys at times when a trial gets heated...Robert Foxworth, Olivia Bennett-Alexander and Beverly West have all spent a little time in the cooler for contempt of court...It's nothing...I assured her..

''Well go get her out..and be careful baby.."said Sepia,,

''I'm always careful..."I said.

"I know..but  I'm always afraid that one of these days you're not going to be so careful or lucky and you won't be back." said Sepia...

'I'll always come home to you baby and our daughter." I said.

I kissed her forehead and hugged her...

"Please don't tell Cousin Liv or Cousin Bev.." said Kayla..

"It's nothing to be embarrassed about...Besides...I seem to remember a few years back, both Olivia and Beverly

were jailed by some judge for contempt of court....You filled in for them while Nelson

 got them out...Remember?" I said.

''Oh yes...Now I remember..." said Kayla..

''Want me to drop you off somewhere? Home?" I asked.

"No, I need to go to my office...My car is there...Thanks Kevin..I'll make it up to you..." said Kayla..

"It's nothing....You're family baby girl and family looks out for each other." I said..

A few days later...Kayla was relaxing in her office in downtown Philadelphia, when She got a very interesting visitor...

"You are Kayla Bennett." the man said...he was tall, light skinned with brownish wavy hair and green eyes...Very Handsome...He immediately got Kayla's attention...

"Y-Yes....Yes I am..." she said...She wondered how such a handsome man knew her name...

"I am U.S. Attorney Tony Richardson.."he said..

Kayla was amazed...He was incredibly handsome....She had heard of him vaguely....She wondered what the U.S. Attorney wanted with her...

"I live in Washington D.C.  I commute from D.C. to Philly often to tend to business..." He said..."I'm from here..."he said and smiled shyly...In reality there was nothing shy about him...He was a consumate womanizer and he was already sizing Kayla up...

Kayla was star struck....

''Yes...Uh how may I help you? Uh, How do you know about me?" she asked..

''A friend of mine refered me to you...I need a favor...from you.." he said..

"It helped that by the time we went back to court , a new judge was assigned to my case...and not the one who jailed me for contempt.."laughed Kayla..

Tony Richardson smiled..then winced...

Kayla smiled...She mused to herself.. "Ray had better act right...This guy is making my panties wet...he's so handsome and so suave...I'll do anything he wants.."

"Uh this is going to be a bit tricky...I don't know how to ask you this...but I really need you to do me this favor...and you're not going to like it one bit.."said Tony Richardson..

"I'm on an investigative committee, We are investigating the murder of a federal judge last month here in Philly...The gunman is already in custody, but I think it was a conspiracy....So does my friend...He's my only ally on this committee and I need his help...Only he's in jail right now for sexually assaulting a woman...I know he didn't do that...I believe he's being set up..by the same people who want me to close my investigation...I need a good attorney like you..In fact my friend asked for you personally and he has already requested the services of Private Investigator, Kevin Morris...I believe you know him."said Tony Richardson..

''Kevin? yes...He has done investigations for me many times..We work good together..If he's working with me...I have no problem...So who is my client?" asked Kayla..

"I might as well tell you,Judge Micheal ''Slappy"Sanderson...

This is so funny, he got arrested the same night he sent you to jail for contempt of court...So you both were in jail the same time and didn't know it.."laughed Tony Richardson...

The smile dropped off of Kayla's face...

"HELL NO!" she said..

"Please Kayla...Please...I'm paying you 150 large up front...Kevin too....Think of it as a favor for me.."said Tony Richardson...

The next morning Kayla stopped by my office..

She looked around and smiled when she saw me..

"I brought you coffee and bagels..."she said and passed me a tumbler of coffee and a warm toasted bagel with cream cheese...

"You're alright with me already.." I said,laughing...

"Kevin, between you and me...I don't want to take this case....but I gave my word I would." said Kayla...

"Judge Sanderson is the one who jailed you for contempt huh?" I said smiling...

''Yes....I hold him in contempt..I went out with him for drinks after he saw me in court a few months ago...I was lonely, Ray, my boyfriend, he was out of town on business,like he is now...and I thought it was just for drinks and conversation..."said Kayla..

"The Judge wanted more.."I said.

"He had a case of the roaming hands...and he tried to kiss me...and he kept begging me to go to a hotel room with him..."said Kayla..

"And I take it you didn't?" I asked..

"Kevinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn? Of course not...I tossed some dollars down and got out of dodge.." said Kayla..

"Just asking...Judge Sanderson contacted me personally and asked me to help him....and he asked for you too huh?" I said..

"Through a middle man, U.S. Attorney Tony Richardson.." said Kayla..

I smiled....Now I see...I see how this all shaped up.....This was going to be an interesting case...

Kayla,sat in her bathroom some hours later...She had just taken a nice hot ,relaxing bath and was sitting in her bathrobe on the side of the tub....Her thoughts were about Assistant U.S. Attorney Tony Richardson...

She was completely taken with him as most women were upon meeting him..Yes she would take the case...She'd do almost anything he asked...

Who was she kidding? she'd do anything he asked..She thought!

It was a warm night in more ways than one.
