PRELUDE-

"You're really enjoying yourself aren't you?" said Yvette Jones, who had been at his home since Friday Night...

This was the first time she had been with Gary since the weekend they had spent together.They had spent a weekend at an Air BRB in nearby Bayside and that had been nice...Yvette was becoming more and more comfortable with Gary...

"I am..."he said.. "Your Ex, Rockland Cambridge just celebrated winning his 100th consecutive case  again and this makes 200 plus cases...

He gave me and his administrative assistant the day off...He's taking the day off too!"said Gary...

''Seriously? Do the other ADA's act like him?" asked Yvette..

"No...Of course not....He takes losing very personally....Olivia and Beverly drove him into therapy after  they bested him twice.....

nearly three times ,Which is where he met his present lady...Who is Beverly's mom...

How ironic..."laughed Gary...

"I worked a case with Olivia and Beverly recently...

They're nice ladies...They and their husbands and their para-legal, Josie...Real nice crew.."said Gary...

"Olivia is a sweetheart,I love her...We were room-mates in law school...And I love Beverly, her niece,equally..I've known her since she was a teenager, visiting her auntie in school...She was always a sweetie pie!You're a sweetie pie too...My sweetie pie"said Yvette, who leaned over and kissed Gary passionately..

Gary found himself getting aroused all over again..

 THIS MORNING!

I'm Attorney Keith Jones....I sat in my small cubicle going over some notes from my last case...

My girlfriend, Attorney Beatrice "Bee Bee" Evans had just walked in...She had gone home this weekend to spend some time with her parents...

She kissed me passionately...

"Hi baby...Did you miss me?" she asked..

"I sure did.."I said..

''Well we've got all week to make up for it..I'm going to stay with you the next three nights, how is that?" she said.

Our other friend and fellow Attorney, Sofia Garcia smiled...

"Did you bring back food?" she asked playfully...

"I did....And a care package from your mother..It's all in the trunk of my car.." said Bee Bee..

''Bee they act like you went out of town instead of across town..."laughed Khalil Ahmed, another attorney and the fourth and final piece of our team...

"I know right?" said Bee Bee...

Ms. Yvette walked in just then....Her hair was all made up, She had on a new dress and she was practically blushing..

"Hi guys....How are my babies doing?" she said...She was practically glowing..and we all noticed it..

"Oh Ms. Yvette, those came for you this morning..."said Khalil, pointing to a bouquet of fresh roses..

Her eyes got as large as saucers...She really was surprised..

"They're from Gary!" she exclaimed...

"You were with him this weekend right?" asked Sofia..

"I was" she gushed like a teenager...

"And he had roses here before you got to work? WOWWWWWW!  I need to find out , one ,who his florist is and two how he gets this done!" said Khalil...

 Bee Bee and I and Sofia all cracked up laughing....

Yvette's smile got even wider ,if that was possible...

"Yeah, that is something...He loves me" she said..Her head bobbing back and forth as if she was humming a tune..

"Are you in love with him Ms. Yvette?" asked Bee Bee..

Yvette looked at Bee Bee seriously and said..

"I'm afraid to say it...but I think I am...Kind of uh falling for him...I've tried not to...but...I think I am.in love with him...." she said..

"You don't like not being in control do you Ms. Yvette?" I said..

She smiled at me...

"You know me so well, Too well Keith...but I suppose you're right...Wow! I've got to deal with that...but not right now...What's on our dockett?" she asked...

Khalil passed her the dockett...

Bee Bee and Sofia stared at her...and smiled to themselves..

She didn't fool them...All this talk about love was making her a bit uncomfortable..
III-

" Here's a case... Muslim American Male, age 20 accused of Conspiracy to blow up courts building..Khalil, this is right up your alley....Sofia..you're second chair..."said Yvette..

"Is he in county?" asked Khalil..

"He is..The Innocence Project contacted us..."said Yvette..

''We are on it...We'll contact his parents...Come on Boyfriend.."said Sofia..

"Bee Bee....You get to work with your boo on this one...This guy was  in Federal Lock Up...He's accused of Insider Trading..He's already made bail...Go talk to him..

''Who's first chair?" asked a jubilant Bee Bee...

''We'll flip a coin...Heads I win, Tails you lose.."I said, smiling raffishly...

''You're such a smart aleck.." laughed Bee Bee..

"You guys are so cute." said Yvette...

We left and headed to our cases..

Yvette sat at her desk and tried to look over some case work, but she couldn't concentrate...She just kept smiling from ear to ear...

Her phone rang...She knew who it was...

"Did you get my flowers?" asked Gary..

"I did ,They're beautiful...Thank You..." she said..

"They're beautiful Like you..." he said...

''Awwwwwww..." she said..

"I uh think you left one of your bras over here....

I could uh stop by tonight and bring it to you." he said.

"You just want to see me again tonight don't you?"said Yvette...

Gary was silent...

"You can come by....I want to see you..." said Yvette...

"You Do?" he said, surprised...

"I left it there on purpose...So you'd bring it to me..." she said..

"Wow! " he said and laughed...

 "Bring me some food..." she said..

"Okay.."he said.

"And bring a change of clothes and a tooth brush, because you know you're spending the night.." she said..

"Ohhhh wowwww, nice..." he said...

''Okay, I've got to get back to work...byeeeeeeeeeeee.." she said and hung up....She was as giddy as a teen ager...She hadn't felt like this since she was a teenager....

Gary sighed...

"Damn...I'm think I'm in love with her." he thought..

" Ms. Yvette's in love."said Sofia.

"I know.....It's all over her face,...Just like I'm in love with you.."said Khalil , who pulled her toward him and kissed her..

"Damnnn girl.." he said..

"Khalil, not here...not in front of county lock up..." said Sofia giggling...

"I just wanted you to know..."said Khalil..

"Papi,I've known that you've loved me since the first day of Law school.."said Sofia ,smiling...

And halfway across town, Bee Bee said to me..

''Ms. Yvette is in love, She's trying so hard to be all professional and cool and collected, but she blushes like a 16 year old girl every time some flowers come from that man or he texts her...We can tell.." she said, smiling..

"Yeah, I know...She's trying to fight it...but he's growing on her.."I said, smiling sheepishly...I was happy for Ms. Yvette...

''She's very guarded with her feelings....I guess she's had to be, having been alone in this world as the only Black woman in a white male law firm..."said Bee Bee..

"Yeah, the four of us and Jade are causing her to loosen up..That can't be a bad thing.." I said..and squeezed Bee Bee's butt..

"Ummmmm nice and firm..."I remarked...

''Well I know somebody that's a little too loose with their hands.." she said, smiling..

She kissed me softly....

"I missed you too this weekend...I can't wait until we get home tonight.." she said..

VI-

Yvette sat back in her chair thinking about Gary..Her history with him...

She'd known him longer than she had Rockland actually...She was a young Attorney and he was a Detective when they met.....

He had tried to hit on her.. but she had heard he was a ladies man...a player somewhat...She flagged him, not once, but several times...She had to admit..He was persistant...She was amazed that she even slept with him once...but she did and the sex was off the chain...She didn't want to make the mistake and become one of the women who fell in love with him and then got disappointed...Except..

he seemed different now..He did things for her that he didn't have to do...Sweet things...Somehow she didn't think he'd disappoint her...but those other women didn't think he would either...She did have feelings for him...Maybe she was in love with him..She acknowledged that ,but she'd still keep her eyes open, just in case..

And across town Bee Bee asked me a question...

''When did you realize you liked me? I mean really liked me?" she asked.

''I was always attracted to you...From day one in Law School..but I thought you'd never go for me..I thought I was a little too wild for you, not your style and that the only thing we'd ever be is good friends.."I said.

"But you wanted to sleep with me?" she asked..

"Oh Of course...but I didn't think it would happen."I said..

''What about when you ambushed me and kissed me? "she asked..

''Well I thought it might happen...but I really loved you after we first made love , When you said "Make me an offer.".When you said "I'm worth it.." I thought...I love this woman's self confidence...It's sexy....I need her in my life..."I said..

"WOW!" was all Bee Bee said..

"Come on....You can be first chair...We got a case to work.." she said softly....
