It was a Red Moon

When a red moon was in the sky..a very rare occurrence..Monica lost her powers of telepathy... It also played funny tricks with her hormones...It made her incredibly horny....and at the end of it's run...It sapped her of her strength completely, made her nauseous.. and she had to rest for a few hours...

Sometimes it lasted for 48 hours...Sometimes it was 72 hours.. It depended. I had witnessed this six years ago ,last time there was a red moon was the year before last.....and now here was another red moon... I was glad we weren't investigating a murder right now.. Of course you realize.. I had spoken too soon..

Monica was waking up....She had had the most peaceful sleep...She looked around...She didn't know where she was or how she had gotten to this place...She felt her arm..There was a bandage on her arm..

A slight sting....She looked around...There was no one around...She got up...She tried the door..It wasn't locked..

She walked outside into the fresh air..She looked around..

"There she is...Move in.." I said.

I moved in with a Tactical Squad..

Followed by Kylie and Lt. Cotton..

"Mo Mo...You alright?" he asked as we surrounded her..

"Yeah, just a little weak, where am I?" she asked.

"You're right outside of town.."I said.  "You've been missing for 12 hours...but I locked into you..and you lead me right to you.."I said proudly..

Locking in was the ability of people close to Monica, to lock in or blend with her essence..and feel her and be drawn to her..It was hard to explain, but it was a mutant power she had in addition to being telepathic..Anyone with blood relations to her..Her sister Monique, Her parents could do it..I could do it because we had sex and we shared bodily fluids..

"That's right, it's the red moon...You've temporarily lost your powers..." said Monique...

"Yeah..It dulls my powers somewhat and messes with my hormones.."said Monica..

"What do you remember Mo?" I asked..

"I went to Dr. Fox's office..My Gynecologist....Dr. Circle.

To get my check up and my birth control pills..." said Monica.

"I was going to him, but I stopped...He's very fresh....A little too fresh and flirtatious for me and very unprofessional.."said Monique..

"He is...I was thinking about changing Doctors myself.. He knows I'm a mutant and he always asked me a million questions about it..Instead of his usual lecherous comments about the color of my panties and my bra....I used to find him annoyingly amusing, but I found him...mildly annoying.."said Monica.

"Anyway, I was in his office....

We were talking...He asked me how you were doing...He asked me if Nate and I were still married and that's all I remember..." said Monica.

Detective Kylie White walked in...she hugged Monica.

"I'm fine...I had a good night's sleep....Well, I had a good night.." she said and smiled sheepishly at me..

Both Monique and Kylie gave me the serious side eye..

''What?" I said...trying to look innocent.

"Well the team checked that building from pillar to post...No Fingerprints or DNA whatsoever, except yours..Place was as clean as a whistle..Antiseptically clean...No tire treads either, so you must have been transferred by flying car."said Kylie.

"How about Dr. Circle..What did he have to say?" I asked.

"He's out for the rest of the week..Nobody remembers seeing him leave.."said Kylie.

"Mo Mo is kidnapped...She isn't robbed, she isn't sexually assaulted...No ransom is asked for and all we can find done to her is some blood was taken...She wasn't even locked in the door..The door was open and she was free to go as soon as she woke up..This doesn't make sense." I said.

"Wait a minute....Blood was taken from you...Plasma that has your DNA in it..."said Monique..

"Ohhh my god...He knows I'm a mutant...What if he extracted my blood and injected it in somebody, or himself..??" asked Monica.

"He'd have your powers right? He'd have your Hybrid DNA??" I asked.

''Well he'd have my powers partially..For a limited amount of time...With this Red Moon , it would reek havoc on his hormones and it would dull his ability to hear thoughts and feel emotions..It's a dangerous mix....If he did that..We've got to find him.."said Monica.

IV-

Monica and I flew out to her Doctor's Office..

We checked the survelience cameras..

We didn't see any footage of the Doctor leaving from outside...But we did see footage of him and a semi conscious Monica slipping through the side door to the roof..

Monica and I walked into his office..

It was empty and antiseptically clean...Too clean..

"That smell...it smells familliar.." I said.

"Yess..The last time I smelled it was when we were on Mars..Belladonna...It was sifting through the air vents the entire time I was in here talking to him...That's why I passed out and it must of been a big dosage too..I was out for half a day.."said Monica.

"How come he didn't pass out?" I asked.

"He's one of those rare individuals who has a high tolerance for it.. The guy who administered it to me and Kylie on Mars had a high tolerance for it...He knew I was coming...I had an appointment..That gas was flowing in here when I got here...I couldn't scan his mind, not that it would have mattered if I could and I was unconscious before I knew it."said Monica.

"There are no cameras on the rooftop..He left in a flying car with you, unseen and un-noticed by everyone.. Kylie did a property search on that little cottage you were held in...The owner has been dead for 10 years." I said.

"Well...We can swear out a warrant on him for unlawful detainment, and simple assault..."said Monica.

''He's got your blood mixed in with him...Your Hybrid DNA....That means he has to a certain degree some of your powers...I'm worried about what he can do with that power.."I said.

"The Red Moon makes things even more complex.....He's not a born mutant..He's got my Hybrid DNA in him...and it's going to effect his hormones in ways he  never imagined, which might make him slightly out of control.."said Monica.
