Leroy "Bad News" Jefferson should have been on top of the world...but he wasn't...At the present time he was numero uno...The self proclaimed "King of Philadelphia.." If you needed high grade Heroin or Cocaine or Opiates of any kind...He was the Drug Store..He had the hot package on the street...
Crews from West Philly, North Philly, South Philly, Southwest Philly,Mt. Airy,Olney, Northern Liberties, Fishtown,Manyunk, Roxborough and the Main Line all made a bee line to that old diner on the edge of town..
Where he held court... They gave him a list of what they needed and he told them when pick up could be made...
He brought in millions...So much money that he had to hire a financial planner to show him how to invest his money and put it in several accounts....
All that was not lost on us...
FBI Deputy Special Agent in charge, Sharon Hopkins
and DEA regional Special Agent in charge had been keeping tabs on his accounts and his activity and were preparing a lengthy federal case against him as I speak..
Sissy and her detectives, Sirena, Hop, Duke and Angie with some help from Narcotics and Vice and the DEA were busy following the many crews that were doing business with Bad News and building cases on them...
I had warrants written on close to 50 individuals...
Bad News was about to get some very Bad News and soon, but he could care less...He was heartbroken.
All he could think about was Raheema Ellis, the attorney who conducted almost all of her Uncle,Developer, Marcus Cable's business, His connect...Who was selling him the high end product...Product he was buying out of the islands..
He thought about her butter soft kisses....
The hours of sweet sweet love making they shared at his condo that afternoon...How baby soft her deep dark skin was, how good she smelled...how wet she was....
The two of them cuddling in his bed....He was in love, hopelessly in love with her...
He thought of how he carressed her behind and kissed her softly in his bathroom...and how she giggled
He was losing his mind just thinking about that afternoon...And because of one conversation...one stupid idea that he should have kept to himself...They were apart...
She wouldn't talk to him...

Now of days..He wasn't invited on the boat as much if at all...
A man they sent picked up the money and paid him.....He received a text telling him when a shipment was in and when his customers could arrange pick up...
At headquarters we were aware of that...
Sharon and her FBI and ATF agents, working closely with Duke , Tyriq, Hop,Sirena, Angie, Carlotta and Jimmy and were tracing the texts and now had the location of the deliveries..
''He's smart, he's using three different warehouses..Never the same one two times.."said Duke.
"Except for now...He just ordered a huge load...All three are loaded." said Tyriq..
"Now is the time to move on all of em.."said Hop..
"Bad News is doing brisker business than all of his competitors combined.." said Sirena.
"It's getting to him...I was riding along with the Narcotics and Vice Boys a day ago...He doesn't look happy..He looks like ,well like he's sad about something.." said Angie..
"He doesn't know we've had his drunken uncle in the tank for a week..."said Carlotta.
"Or that we found Tapioca Brown's body....or that we have him on video pillow talking and admitting it." said Jimmy..
"We do have a slight problem..."said Sissy..
''What is that?" asked Carlotta.
''We did a property search...None of the properties is in Marcus Cable's name...We did a check
They belong to three bogus shell companies...based in the Dominican Republic.."said Sharon...
"How careful is Cable?" I said.."Let's start taking down some doors and let's hit those warehouses...Maybe ,Just maybe we'll get some people who will start talking about Marcus Cable and his niece, Raheema Ellis."I said.
III-
Tender is the night...
Carlotta, Tyriq,Jimmy and Sissy and Tactical Squad officers , along with Detectives and Plain Clothes guys from Vice and Narcotics did another sweep...
They arrested 30 people........
The next night...
Duke, Angie,Sirena, Hop and Sissy went out again with Tactical Squad officers ,
along with Detectives and Plain clothes guys from Vice and Narcotics did another sweep...Another 30 or so drug suspects...
Sharon and her FBI agents
arrested some 25 key figures who were higher up in the drug echelon that same night....
None of them mentioned Marcus Cable or Raheema Ellis...it was if they were phantoms...
Finally,
Carol Redding-Cantrell,
and her DEA agents hit all three warehouses...recovering a lot of drugs...Heroin, Cocaine and Opiates...worth millions on the street....and arresting an additional 25 people...
All in all I was happy ...We had really put a dent in the underworld of the city....
IV-
Bad News was called to the boat for a meeting at the end of the week...
The only good news was he got to see Raheema..
Marcus Cable was furious..
"UP TO YOUR OLD TRICKS AGAIN BAD NEWS??" screamed Marcus Cable..
"No..What are you talkin about?" said Bad News, who was now afraid..
''The Cops and the Feds have been picking up all of your clients...paying clients and a few people we depended on for good product...They hit all three of our warehouses..."said Raheema.
"THEY HAVE ESSENTIALLY PUT ME OUT OF BUSINESS...AND THAT MEANS YOU'RE OUT OF BUSINESS!!"screamed Marcus Cable..
"I swear...this aint me...I aint got nothin to do with this...I don't know where this is coming from...Why would I do this? This was money...We was making paper baby!! I made you millions...millions mannn!" explained Bad News..
"Yes you did...but now you've cost me millions...The Feds hit all three of my warehouses in one night...How did they even know there was warehouses? They aren't on the pier?" asked Marcus Cable..
"Hell ,I don't know...I never talked business on the phone...and even in the restaurant, everything was written on paper...paper man and then we burned it...I swear!" said Bad News, who was crying now..
"In all 110 people....Customers, paying customers and 25 people we relied on heavily to supply us with our product are in custody.....All three of our warehouses were hit, costing us millions....Millions in unsold product...and unfortunately...YOU are still standing..."said Raheema...
"Raheema baby please....I-I-I can get new customers ,I swear...White boys from the suburbs....I can do it...Just give me a chance to prove myself.."said Bad News...
"Get off this boat and don't visit us again!!!...You're too hot!!!...You really are Bad News.." said Raheema...
Marcus Cable laughed...
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA........YOU HEARD HER...BEAT IT!" he said...
Bad News left the boat with tears in his eyes......
Bad News sat in his favorite diner making calls....
No one was answering...word on the street was , he was too hot to be seen with...
He looked up and saw Duke, Tyriq, Carlotta, Jimmy and Sissy walking towards him....
''Look you guys...I got no time for your little song and dance.." he said..
"Oh is that right Bad News???, Because I got a song for you....and it's a top ten hit." said Tyriq..
"It's called doin the perp walk.."said Jimmy...
"Oh really? I'm too smart and too fast for you wing tipped bozos....You got nothin..."said Bad News....
''What we got is Tapioca Brown's body at the M.E.'s office
My wife who is the deputy coroner
made a positive ID and pulled a .45 slug out of his head.." said Duke..
''And we have your uncle who told us you brought the body to him last week..plus you on video tape pillow talking Ms. Raheema Ellis and confessing to killing him...Now we know she's an attorney and won't repeat what you told her...but we got enough to arrest you for First degree Murder.." said Carlotta..
"Not to mention a whole lotta RICO charges." said Sissy..
"You can't be serious."said Bad News..
''Do I look like I'm kiddin?" said Duke.
Tyriq and
Jimmy pulled him up from his seat and handcuffed him..
Carlotta read him his rights and they marched him out of the diner....
A little while later...I walked on Marcus Cable's boat with Detectives Angie Belton-Barlow, Sirena Pile and Tony Hopkins..
"Marcus Cable, Raheema Ellis...I'm Assistant District Attorney Keith Wallace
and these are Detectives Angela Belton-Barlow, Sirena Pile and Tony Hopkins..."I said..
"You got a warrant?" asked Raheema coldly..
Marcus Cable didn't utter a word..
''No I do not.." I said.
"Then we have nothing to say..Get off of our boat!" she said..
Marcus Cable still didn't speak, he just stared straight ahead...
''Oh but I got something to say...We have Bad News Jefferson in custody on First Degree Murder charges...And funny thing...Even though we know about his association with you two...He wouldn't give you up...Considering he through 77 of his contemporaries under the bus in order to get where he is today ,I find that admirable..Your three warehouses aren't in either of your names...That was smart and of the 110 people we've arrested in the past 72 hours...Neither of your names have come up...but get this...I know you're in the drug business...and I'm here to tell you that you both are here by retired.....If I get the slightest whiff that you two are back in business...I'm going to clear my desk and concentrate on just you two until I make a case...Now you can laugh that off if you want to...but look what we've done already....If I were you...I'd take this boat and head south somewhere...Feel me?" I said and smiled.."Good afternoon.." I said
Neither of them said a word..
The next day, their boat was gone...We got word that all of his real estate holdings in the Philadelphia area were liquidated...
A nice way to close a big case...and now it truly was closed...
EPILOUGE-
Leroy Bad News Jefferson was convicted of First Degree Murder and sentenced to Life...We cut his uncle loose...Bad News wrote to Raheema Ellis, but soon found she had left the area along with her uncle..
Marcus Cable was found shot to death in New York City a few months later...His killer has not been caught...His murder remains unsolved...
Raheema Ellis ,last we heard was hired by a law firm in New York City, where she now lives...
Another big Press conference, congratulating
Lt. Sissy Van Buren,of the CID,
Sharon Hopkins of the FBI-ATF task force...
and Carol Redding-Cantrell of the DEA for successfully putting a dent in the drug scene in Philadelphia and taking down 110 known drug suspects, plus a murderer...
The Lieutenants of Vice and Narcotics were also there to be congratulated for their part in the whole operation that began with 77 arrests and the clearing of 12 murders...
The press loved them and ate it up...
Captain Cantrell was there,looking like a proud father...He had brought both Sissy and Carol along when they had both been rookie cops and they became detectives under him....
Lt. Tragg was there too seething...He had mocked Sissy and her detectives after the first big takedown...and here they'd taken down even more and put the new Kingpin down and while we couldn't take down Cable and Ellis, we had run them out of town...
Everything was fine until one reporter yelled out..
"Hey Tragg, take notes...This is how you make a successful case.."
Which was followed by laughter...
"WHYYYYYYYYYYYY YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" screamed an already seething Lt. Tragg who rushed the reporter...Several reporters and uniformed cops got in between them and they all fell to the ground...
"Oh My Goddd...This is becoming an every day thing.."sighed Ed Cantrell...who just shook his head in disgust...
They got Bad News...They really had nothing on Cable and his Niece...But they figured if the ADA and several Detectives knew their names and where they lived...That was too close for comfort.
They went from being anonymous to being known and plus their three warehouses, which they thought were insulated got popped and several of their friends..It was time to go.

I agree...It was better for them to leave , they were too hot for Philly.

I knew they were going to get Bad News....I didn't think they had enough to get Cable and Raheema unless someone talked..And nobody did..
