SIX WEEKS LATER-


U.S. Attorney Karla Williams sat by herself in Sam Mother's Diner...She looked at her watch...It was 8:59 am...

She looked up again and there she was...Right on time..She liked punctuality...

Bonnie Shay like herself, an Attorney, A former Public defnder, Former Assistant District Attorney and now an Insurance Investigator and co-counsel for Cyclops Insurance......

Bonnie dropped a file on the table..

Karla had paid her extra money to do some investigating for her...for the past six weeks...Ivestigating of Miles Ellis, Assistant District Attorney Miles Ellis....the man she had dated until she found out he was living an entirely secret life with another woman rightunder her nose...

The man who desperately wanted back in her life and in her bed...She had reluctantly decided to give him another chance.. Only she was not sleeping with him until he proved himself..

"You've got to earn your way back into these panties." she had told him..

This file was the results of Bonnie's six week investigation of him...

"Sit down Bonnie...Have some Ice Tea..." said Karla..

Bonnie sat down and Karla poured her a glass of Ice tea and poured herself a glass...

"That's everything Karla and I do mean everything.." said Bonnie..

Karla leafed through the lengthy file..

At the law firm he went to after he left Yvette's firm... He apparently was involved romantically with two of the attorneys there...and it turned into a very intense situation.....He was asked to leave...He tindered his resignation... In D.C. at the ACLU...He was involved in an illicit relationship with a client AND with his supervisor's wife... Again, it was SUGGESTED that he leave.... In San-Francisco...at the Innocence Project...He had an unethical relationship with an Assistant District Attorney trying one of his cases...He was censored and cleared of any wrong doing...Then he had another unethical romantic relationship with a Judge....Which led to a lawsuit.. The Law suit was settled...It was suggested that it would be better if he leave... In Seattle, He was an Assistant District Attorney with a near 100 win record......He impregnated the D.A.'s wife....She got an abortion... He tindered his resignation and returned to Philadelphia." 

"He told me about the jobs, he didn't tell me about the circumstances.." said Karla.

"And here Yvette Jones and her associates successfully defended him against another young woman at his old firm who accused him of impropriety of a sexual nature.. He tendered his resignation and took a job as An Assistant District Attornet where he has an exemplary record, both in court and out of it...He seems to have learned his lesson..He's kept his personal business and professional business seperate.."said Bonnie.

"Wow this explains so much about him..." said Karla, shaking her head and wondering if giving him a second chance was smart ,considering his track record...

"The past six weeks...He's been living like a monk...He goes to work...He goes to the  law library to study and prep for his case...He goes to the Medical Examiner's office, case related and the Police department...

He spends his off time in Josies, Aqua Bar and Stoleys...he leaves alone and goes home..He spends a little time in an al night poker game with male friends..and he goes home...

Saturdays find him at the Gym, At Mulberry Street and at home...

Most of his phone calls, other than those that were work related have been to YOU!" concluded Bonnie.

Karla smiled....A lot of the calls had been late at night...

"He wants to get back with me in the worst way..He begs me to let him come over late at night or for me to come see him...I refuse.."said Karla, proud of her self control...

"You have dated him."said Bonnie.

''I have...I let him take me

to dinner on three occassions...

to brunch a couple of times

and out dancing...so it's not like he hasn't seen me.."laughed Karla..

"But just dating...No uh..."said Bonnie..

"No sex....I don't even go inside his apartment and he's only been outside my building...

I let him kiss me once....The night we went dancing...and that was it..He called me from his cell phone pleading with me to let him come up...but I said no and hung up and put my phone on a charger."said Karla..

After that kiss, 2 weeks ago..She was tempted to let him come up....Miles knew how to kiss a woman and she was so hot, so horny..she almost gave in...but she didn't...She hung up and took a cold shower.  That's a myth..

She hadn't seen him in two weeks or heard from him...He had called one night late last week, her phone had been on vibrate and she had either been asleep or was prepping a case...

as the two women finished their Ice Tea.

ONE WEEK LATER-

It was a Saturday afternoon... Karla was doing her laundry....Her new apartment ,unlike her old one did not have a laundromat in the basement on site...Luckily, this one was down the street...

Karla had just finished a strenuous workout at the gym....She had come back to get her clothes out of the dryer...

The dryer was still spinning when she heard a familliar voice..

''Uh they aren't ready yet.. I threw in a few more quarters" It was Miles Ellis..She hadn't actually seen him in two weeks..

She was really glad to see him, but she played it cool...Didn't want him to get too big of a head...

She was stunned....

''How did you know where my clothes were?"she asked.

"I was doing my wash here earlier and I saw you when you came in....You uh didn't see me.I finished up awhile ago and uh I uh ruh came back.." he said.

Her hair was a mess and she didn't have her make up on..She hated him seeing her like this..but he for his part didn't seem to mind...

"Lawd this girl has hips, legs and breasts on her..."he mused to himself as he checked her out from head to toe..She was wearing a sports bra...some matching work out shorts that looked like a pair of panties and white ankle socks and white skippers..

Several guys had been checking her out in the gym and on her way to the laundromat...

"So you finished and you came back here hoping to see me ? You sure you aren't stalking me?" she joked..

"Nah, just lucky is all...To see you, To Run into you.." he said..

''Well since you're here...Would you mind helping me pack my things?...It's not much..."she said.

He didn't know how much longer he could go on like this...

Their lights blinked on and off and they smiled..

Karla and Miles both came so hard, they thought they were dying...

Out of breath they kissed a little longer..

Karla collapsed in between Miles's legs...he ran his hand through her hair...He fell asleep and so did she .

She cuddled up in his arms....

She still didn't know if she could completely trust Miles...but she knew one thing..No one had made her feel this good in the bed in a long time...if ever..

It was well after midnight...They had been at it all afternoon...

Morning came... Miles woke up alone...He knew he hadn't been dreaming because he was in a strange apartment..Karla's apartment..

He looked around...His clothes were folded neatly and in a chair..but Karla was nowhere to be found...

He showered and used some of her lotion and got dressed...

He was getting ready to leave when he heard her key in the door..

She smiled...

"Oh Hey...You're up....You were sleeping so sound I didn't want to wake you....I went down to the Bodega and brought a few things...Sit down...I'm going to make us breakfast..." she said..

Now he was surprised..

She fixed them pancakes with Strawberries, Link sausage and coffee...

"Karla...Last night was for real wasn't it? I mean we are back together again right?" asked Miles.

"I hope so...Are you ready to be a one woman man this time?"she asked.

"Oh I am..I am.." he said as he ate the food...and stared at her,....

"Gooood, don't play with my feelings..." she warned him...

"I won't...I'm throwing my players cards away...I just want....I just want to be with you.  I- I love you...These past six or seven weeks...I haven't looked at another woman...All I could think about was you.." he said..

"Good, cause I wanna be with you....And I think I...I think I love you too..I was starting to have feelings for you when I found out about you and Alexandria Miller...I was so hurt, so disappointed in you..." she said..

He motioned for her to sit on his lap....She did and put her arms around him.. He hugged her!

"I'm so sorry about that...We uh ,Alexandria and me had been kickin it for about three months...I had just met her in November..She was breaking up with Elwood, said he didn't take her or their relationship serious.. She was a sweet girl...I liked her...but not like when I first met you....and this past six weeks...All I could think about was you...When we were on dates these past few weeks...It was okay that we didn't have sex...I was just happy to be with you.. That's when I knew...that you were different.. What I felt for you was something else. Something I hadn't felt for anyone else.. Even Alexandria.." he said.

"That's not smooth lawyer talk is it?" asked Karla..

"No...not this time. .I'm so sorry Karla.."said Miles..
