Ten Men

As I've stated before..Stanga State Prison was huge...It was a city within itself...It housed some of the State's most notorious prisoners....It had a swimming pool, a golf course, a tennis court and a nice track...It was very clean...Kept that way by the inmates... and ultra modern.

The prison was built in 2003.If not for the barbed wire and re-inforced steel on the outside of it, The Pennsylvania Men's Correctional Colony at Stanga looked like a college campus with high rise dormitories. The men were not locked up in cells...They were locked up in rooms. The rooms had two beds...A sink, A toilet and two dresser drawers. There was one Flat screenTelevison in each room...Depending on how much money one had on their books..The television had cable or it did not.
There was a swimming pool here, both an outdoor and in indoor pool....There was a huge golf course and a basketball court and a baseball field. The inmates took classes in modern classrooms that rivaled my college classrooms...Some played baseball, some played basketball, others lifted weights....

There was a couple of trailers for conjugal visits. This was only for married inmates....Though I suspected that some of the rules concerning that was loosened for some inmates....I didn't care.

 Practically all of the inmates here were guys with little or no violence in their past. First time offenders or honor inmates...

Stanga was 25 miles Northwest of Angel City....Stanga was for honor inmates if there is such a thing, inmates awaiting parole and non-violent inmates...Though there was a few inmates there on Murder raps...but they were the type that were considered non-threatening...again if there was such a thing...

These ten men had been in prison for four to five years...They had all gotten their GED's .Six of them were taking college courses... None of them had any violence in their records and as a result at this time in their prison career they got transferred to Stanga..

 The Prison had a huge visiting room for occasions like this..It was nice and clean and bright..

We sat at the table with our perspective clients..

Olivia, Beverly, Nelson,  Josie and I met with our four clients...

 While Yvette, Keith, Bee Bee, Sofia, Kahlil and Jade met with their four clients...

 Dabnis and Jazzy met with the two original clients that brought the case to the attention of the Innocence Project and of course they knew  Chip and Jessica , who did the original leg work and were responsible for all of their cases now being brought before the Wrongful Conviction Unit...which now had a solid 40-0 record..of reversed verdicts for wrongly accused men and women from Philadelphia.

We all  introduced ourselves and brought each man's case before them....Complete with the evidence we had uncovered to exonerate them and evidence of prosecutorial misconduct...Only two of them knew that the Judge, The ADA and one of the arresting detectives in all of their cases were themselves in prison on unrelated murder charges...

The ADA was a confirmed serial killer in fact and held in segregation at Green Hill Correctional Center under suicide watch...

The Judge, also a convicted murderer was also at Green Hill in segregation ..He had sent many men to prison and many of them were salivating at the chance to get to him...

The Detective who arrested all of them...was  serving a Life sentence for the double murder of an ADA and his wife..He was in another prison under an assumed name for his own safety...

His partner...The mastermind...Detective Barbara Dennison had been executed at Green Hill by Lethal Injection a few years back...

What irony..and now They all had a chance to be released and to leave those three corrupt people behind..

We explained to them that they all would be transferred to CFC in Philadelphia and to start cleaning out their cells...

"You have an excellent chance of going home...I wouldn't say this if I didn't believe this."said Jessica..

All in all it was a very successful morning...

Paris, Danny Ho and Gary Lockwood didn't go up to the prison...There was no need..They packed up the bus with our things and made sure the Air BNB's were tidy...


They met us all outside the prison gates..

and we got on the bus and headed back to Philadelphia.

All in all, it had been a successful two days...

 Sam Mother's Diner...Some Hours Later.

 Lt. Tragg was wondering if Olivia and her crew and Yvette and her crew were ever coming back...Another day and they were nowhere to be seen...They must be out of town, he wagered..
He was enjoying a cold ice tea.

 Judge Tad Thornton sat down next to him..He ordered an Ice tea also...

"Hey Artie..How's it going?  Here is something you probably did not know...Did you know that I am on the Legal Ethics Board?   Did you know that I was also elected Chairman of the Legal Ethics Board last month?" he said..

His Ice tea arrived..

"Thanks Sam...." He said... So Imagine my surprise when I got to work early this morning and this envelope was inside my office, under the door...No return address, no name... And I opened it up and there to my surprise and utter shock..." he said...Tossing the glossies on the counter..

 Is a photo OF ME AND ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY ABIGAIL SLEET, kissing and making out in front of our apartment building...off duty mind you and not working a case together..minding our own business..

 But it gets better, now this took some real chicanery...You must have had a micro camera in her bedroom , because there I am , and there she is...In our birthday suits, having  a very private  moment...Hmmmmm a very good moment...Artie, that girl rode me like a surf board....

 And this one here , takin in her living room on the floor...Wowwwwwwwwwwwwww… The P.I. was good..He got these photos...and I guess the idea was to embarrass me in front of the rest of the members of the Legal Ethics Board...As if I had done something wrong.....Welllll." he said.
The rest of the Legal Ethics Board is not going to see these photos.." he said and

he ripped them to shreds in front of a shocked Lt. Tragg, who said nothing...

 "Tell your P.I. to get rid of the negatives and he's got 24 hours to get all of his micro cameras out of her apartment and any in mine that might be there...

"Let me remind you....You are under a restraining order and you're in enough hot water with the police brass that if you violate that order one more time...If one of these photos show up anywhere else...I'm going to charge you with violating that order and Artie...I promise you...I will nail your ass to the damn WALL!!!  That could either mean your badge or you going back out on that Marine Boat until you're a very old man....You won't be wearing any more tailor made suits, no more finely manicured hands, great hair ,make up, Television appearance...NOTHING!   And let me see ,if I really feel like running wild with this...ADA Yvonne Harris, ADA Karen Page, ADA Brittany Hughes and ADA Abigail Sleet have all been a victim of your wandering hands up their skirts and in their panties....The Sexual Harrassment suit they all could bring against you could have you losing your badge...So if I were you....I'd cool it Artie.. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?" he said and smiled..

He finished his Ice tea and tossed a couple of dollars on the counter.. He got up straightened his tie and smiled..

"See ya around Artie...remember what I said...Keep Cool babe!" he said and patted Lt. Tragg on the shoulder and smiled as he walked away...

 Lt. Tragg was as red as a beet and livid..

"WHAT A SNAKE!!! WHAT A SLIMY, SLIMY SNAKE!!" he bellowed as he shook with rage...He wanted to grab him and just punch his lights out until his face was bloody and unrecognizable..

And to his surprise...His favorite people, who he hadn't seen in three weeks walked in....

We all ordered about 17 Ice Teas...Sam Mother was glad to see us..

We were all hot and thirsty after that long bus ride...

It was good to be back in Philly after being gone for two days and nice to be back in Sam Mother's diner after being gone for three weeks..

We were all headed home to nice hot baths or showers and some good loving...

 "And just where have you been?" he questioned Gary Lockwood.

 As an Investigator for the D.A.'s Office...Gary really didn't have to answer to him , but he decided to humor him..

"For the past two days...I've been off...Prior to that...I've been downtown working with ADA Karen Page...She shares me with Rockland Cambridge..." he said..

 "And You Danny...You've been off too? I guess you were working with ADA Karen Page too huh?" he asked.

 "Nope ,not at all..I was just off..Spending time with my girl, Jade..." he said...

 Just then Judge Thornton appeared again... "Oh Jessica....Tell Karen..I can sit in for two of the four sessions...but she'll need another Judge for the other two sessions.." he said,.

"Thank you so much...I'll call her tonight and give her the news." said Jessica..

''What is this? You guys working on some major case with Karen?" he asked..

Nobody, not even Dabnis uttered a word...No one felt like arguing with Lt. Tragg..

"What any of them are doing is none of your business Artie...You're not a lawyer...See that's your problem...Your mind is everywhere it shouldn't  be, except being a good detective and solving crimes..Your mind is on what these attorneys are up to..What somebody did on their day off and sticking your hands up somebody's skirt..See places it shouldn't be...Keep your mind on your business ...Life will be a lot less stressful and a lot easier for you.."said Judge Thornton...

Lt. Tragg was so angry, he stormed out of the diner and nearly broke the window in the door, slamming it..

We didn't know what that was about between the two of them, but we all cracked up laughing..

"I can't believe this Judge Thornton...but I do believe he now hates you more than he does me.." said Dabnis..

"Ask me if I care..." laughed Judge Thornton...

III-

 Like I said...We were tired...we were glad to be home, to have a couple of days rest....

We took long ,hot relaxing showers with our significant others

 That led to sensual kissing

 and some hot...

 passionate lovemaking...

 The rest of the afternoon

and wayyy past midnight..

 ''So Judge Thornton said he can sit in for two sessions...He'll be sitting in with Olivia, Beverly, Donnie Ray ,Nelson and Josie  and the other session with Yvette, Keith, Bee Bee, Sofia, Kahil and Jade." said Jessica.

 "Those are the two most important meetings...I'm worried, I don't know about him.."said Chip..

 "I know him...He's good , he's fair...He doesn't swing either way on the political spectrum....He just likes the application of the law..." said Karen....

"I've got Judge Pierce for Dabnis and Jazzy...That should go great..."said a jubilant Karen...

 "And I will have a live fee covering  all of the hearings...This is ratings gold and Judge Mike King will be on the next night to weigh in on the results...Wowww!" said an excited B.L.

 They were all in Curleys Bar....

 Having Martinis and

Beers...

Attorney Curt Summers was sitting across from Lt. Tragg talking to him..

"I suppose you don't watch HARD BOTTOM Anymore, but you should have been... Remember that crazy broad? The Chemist ,

who was using drugs and as it turned out lied in several cases?  Well as it turned out..The Innocence Project, represented by that Broad over there with Karen and B.L.

and her hubby, who is also an Innocence Project Attorney decided to look into her cases ,after she was convicted and sent to prison...

Turns out she lied in about ten cases...used faulty testimony...bad analysis...the works...What makes it bad..The Judge, the Assistant District Attorney and one of the arresting detectives, your old partner, Dominic Evans, all played fast and loose with the truth....

Two of the inmates contacted Sanchez-Burrows and her husband and they looked into their cases..

They then called some real heavy hitters to help out..

Karen had em working at some remote location on these cases for weeks.. I heard it was in South  Jersey somewhere..They just got back in Philly yesterday...

They Got Judge Thornton and Judge Pierce....I heard he used to have a thing for Olivia and Beverly, tried to date em both..He's hearing their four cases first and then He's hearing Yvette Jones and her folks four cases...He was in law school with Yvette and Olivia..He was pretty chummy with Yvette at one time if you know what I mean...

and Pierce is so damn liberal, these 10 guys are a shoe in to walk.."said Curt.

 ''So that's why they've been missing...They've been out of town...In Jersey eh?

"I think, but they're back and this thing is getting ready to roll....." said Curt...

"I don't give a damn about those cases....I want Thornton...Talk to people you know...Any dirt on him you can dig up...Get it and get it to the media...But it absolutely can't come back on me.."said Lt. Tragg..

"I'll do what I can.." said Curt Jenson.

IV-

 A Warm Summer Night...Food Corner as it was known was empty tonight...
We all were home in bed...but not everyone was in bed..

 Judge Tad Thornton was out with his new girlfriend , ADA Abbie Sleet...

"Let's get a split..." he said..

 "That's a good idea.."said Abby..

 Attorneys Jessica Sanchez-Burrows and her husband, Attorney Chip Burrows were still out...They had left Curleys...

"We should sleep good tonight papi.." she said...

 "And we've got two whole days off...That's great...." said Chip..

As their two Banana Splits arrived..

 "Heyyy Jessica, Chip...You two couldn't sleep either huh?" said Judge Thornton...

 "It's amazing that we are so wired...but we are going home after we leave here for sure.."said Jessica..

"Yeah, we've been working hard for the past three weeks..everybody else wanted to go home..We still wanted to go out..Have some drinks.."said Chip...

 "Those Banana Splits you have look yummy...I think I'll have one "said Abby sleet..

Who ordered one for herself..

 "I think I'll have a Chocolate shake.."said Tad Thornton...

 A Big chocolate shake arrived for him...

Watching it all from across the street in an unmarked car was Lt. Tragg..

"Drink up pretty boy...enjoy it..because soon your whole world is going to be turned inside out..." he laughed..
