His bed wasn't as noisy as mine...but this morning, it was close...
Across the street...
Ms.Jade was waking up...Danny Ho had left a little while ago....
She had had a wonderful night and was still basking in the afterglow...
And at Gary's house...
Ms.Yvette was waking up, preparing to get dressed....
Gary watched her....
"You like watching me get dressed?" she asked as she applied lipstick...and picked out the dress she was going to put on...
"I like watching you period!"said Gary.... who zipped her up...
"You are soooo good for a girl's ego..." she said...
A little while later..They stood in his doorway kissing passionately......
"I have to go baby..." she whispered... She had already packed her things in her car and had come back to say goodbye....
"I know...I just have such a hard time letting you go.." he whispered in between more slow, smouldering kisses....

All of us skipped breakfast.....We were all surprisingly on time for the trial and prepared....
ADA Margaret Barnes, a very capable ADA, fresh off of her 100th straight conviction was more than prepared ...
She gave a very eloquent opening statement........
but Ms. Yvette's opening statement was better....
The six men on the jury...Three Black and Three White, found her legs and shapely body quite appealing...
Between her and ADA Margaret Barnes...who was certainly no slouch herself in the looks department...I doubted if any males were paying attention to what either woman was saying...
Khalil and I certainly weren't....Between those two and Bee Bee and Sofia...We couldn't concentrate on the case....
Bee Bee and Sofia however were taking notes and passing them to Ms. Yvette during the Prosecution's presentation...
Lieutenant Tragg and Detective Jason Dunn sat attentively throughout the hearing and glared angrilly at us...
ADA Rockland Cambridge sat in the back everyday watching and smiling...
Bee Bee and I played tag team on re-direct, questioning so called witnesses and punching enough holes in what they said to create doubt everywhere.....
Rockland sat back and smiled...Perhaps glad he wasn't prosecuting this case...
Sofia and Khalil questioned Police Officers and CSI personell at the scene... They got them to admit that no gun residue was found on Jonathan's hands and that no gun has yet to be found in his home in the sewer or anywhere...
ADA Barnes did as good a job as she could to counteract all of that....She is a very good prosecutor..but by now she had lost at least half the jury....We could see it...
Yvette continued her attack....Not being argumentive ,but asking the questions a normal person might ask, like where was the motive...?/The two had been having sex constantly....They had had sex earlier that day in the restroom at their place of work...Why would he kill her??
They were all good questions that couldn't be answered....She left that hanging...
By the time Margaret Barnes rested her case , a week later...I could look at her and tell she wasn't sure she had a solid case...
III-
We all had lunch at Sam Mother's Diner...
''Guys, we did good...very good..I know we punched holes in her case, and we haven't even begun our defense..." said Ms. Yvette...
Khalil and I had visited Jonathan in county lock up...We took our Barber and got him a fresh hair cut and shave...and took Sam the tailor, who fitted him for a nice new suit...
Jonathan was clean cut,clean shaven and had on a nice suit in court....He looked like an Attorney almost....
Yvette thought that that was a stroke of genius...
Jade came in and joined us...She passed Ms. Yvette some papers...
"I did a work up on Arthur Jackson..." she said..
"Thanks Jade...."said Yvette...
Just then disposed Detective Justin Dunn walked in...
He glared at us....
"You can only clean up garbage but so much...It'll still stink " he said.. "Hmmph, Haircut, Shave, Nice suit....He's still a murderer.." he snarled..
"You know you shouldn't be here right?" said Ms. Jade...
"You a cop or a lawyer?" asked Detective Dunn..
"I used to be a cop....I'm an investigator for this law firm right now..."said Ms. Jade..
"Yeah...How nice for you....Anything YOU gotta say is of no consequence to me...Now sit down!" he snarled...
I went to get up...I'd had enough of him...but Bee Bee and Yvette restrained me..
"Baby no!!.....Maintain...Maintain that Kappa cool..Just maintain baby!" she said and smiled at me...
"She's Right Keith...We don't need to respond to him..." said Yvette...This guy was a loose cannon,She didn't want to give him an excuse to shoot one of us...and say he was AFRAID FOR HIS LIFE!
"That's right HOME SLICE ,listen to your women....You know you shouldn't challenge me!" he snarled...
''That's right Detective and you know you shouldn't be anywhere near them! Because I could assume you're making terroristic threats and I could have you arrested for that!" came the stern voice of ADA Rockland Cambridge...
"Hey Man, they're defending the piece of crap who killed my wife..." he complained..
"Yes they are...That's their job....Ever heard of a thing called due process of the law? Or is that over your head? Get out of here before I have you brought up on charges....I'm not gonna ask you again!"said Rockland.
Detective Dunn stomped his foot and stormed out....
Lieutenant Tragg walked in just then...
"Geez Rockland..The man is in pain...His wife has been murdered and he found out she was cheating on him ....Give him a break.." he said..
''I did give him a break...A Big break!!That's why he's not in cuffs...He's on suspension...He has no business consorting with the attorneys on either side of this case...You know that and I know that...He's your friend...Now either you muzzle him or I WILL!" said Rockland..
"AL RIGHT!!!" said Lt. Tragg who stomped his foot and stormed out!
"I wanna be Ms. Yvette when I grow up..."said Bee Bee..
"Me too! Even when they break up with her...They still watch over her and protect her.."whispered Sofia..
Yvette overheard her two protoge's and laughed to herself.. She looked up at Rockland and smiled..
"Thank You Rockland, but I could have handled him.." she said..
"It's alright..." he said..
Just then Gary walked in...
He surveyed the situation and cooly ordered his coffee and a sandwich to go..
"Hey everybody..." he said..
Ms. Yvette felt like being devilish...
''Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Garrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry.." she said.. "In a rush...Why don't you join us?" she said, smiling sweetly....
Gary was taken a back...
''Well...Well...uh....ahhhh, if you don't mind....If uh there is uh enough room.." he said..
''Sure...We are done here..We are leaving.."I said as Bee Bee, Sofia and Khalil stood up and joined me..
We all looked at Ms. Yvette and smiled slyly....
"Oh look at the time....I have something I have to check on.." said Jade, who also got up and left..
Yvette smiled sweetly as Gary sat down....
"So how ya been Gary?"she asked.
She hated this facade they had to maintain for Rockland's sake...but while she was willing to maintain it..She was determined she was going to have some fun with it too!
"Horny!" he whispered raffishly...
''Is that right? Ummmmmmm, Well tonight after work, I'll have to take care of that..."she said and they both laughed...
Rockland couldn't hear what they were talking about, but he did look at them funny as he left the diner himself...
IV-
We began our defense....
Yvette introduced the jury to our client, Jonathan Jenkins......He had no prior criminal record...and there was no record of him ever owning a fire arm....He graduated from High School, The went to Community College,graduated and was at Temple University for a year and a half before dropping out..
He was working and had his own apartment...In other words , he was no different from many millennials...
He began an affair with Mrs. Dunn who also worked with him...Probably not the wisest or moral thing to do...but he certainly had no reason to kill her...He liked her..
She shared texts and emails the two sent each other and photos...
Her husband put his head in his hands....
Thanks to a little birdy in the D.A.'s office...
Gary Lockwood...
Sofia was able to get street cam footage of Jonathan and Mrs. Dunn hooking up at a Burger and shake joint directly across from a bar...Where her car was parked at around 8:00 pm...
Khalil and I showed the jury footage of the two leaving in her car and driving to an off street, a few blocks away...
At this point there is no more film footage...The camera was disabled....
The next camera footage shows Jonathan leaving the car...He leans in and kisses
Mrs. Dunn and walks away.....

Ms. Yvette called Arthur Jackson....
We had subpeonaed him as a possible hostile witness..
He stared daggers at me...
I just smiled..
Bee Bee was gentle...She ran him through his entire relationship with Renalta.....The day they met...Dating, Sex....For a minute, Arthur forgot he was testifying in a murder case and smiled and wistfully remembered their great relationship...
ADA Margaret Barnes argued relevance...
The Judge allowed the questioning to continue but told Bee Bee to wrap it up...
Bee Bee then talked about the change in the relationship.....When he thought she was cheating...
And Arthur got dark......He admitted hiring a P.I. to follow her....To catching her twice with the defendant's older brother,George and to breaking off the engagement...
I brought George up and had him testify about his relationship with Mrs. Dunn...He told about how it was almost identical to his brother's relationship with her...
Sofia interviewed the Private Investigator , who told how he was paid to find out about her and how he tracked and traced her relationship with George several years ago and how he was paid again to follow her and how he found out she was seeing the younger brother...Apparently Arthur was obsessed...
Yvette went on the attack...Yvette Recalled Arthur Jackson. She brought up the allegations of stalking, the restraining order and the altercation with her husband, Detective Dunn....
He stared daggers at Arthur Jackson...
Khalil asked him where he was the night of the murder..
He said he didn't recall...A lie...He told me he was home in bed asleep..
"Your credit card states you were in this bar,which is right across the street from where Mrs. Dunn's car was parked.. You knew it was her car didn't you?" asked Khalil..
"You saw these two getting in the car..didn't you?" asked Khalil..
ADA Barnes argued that he was badgering the witness.....
Sofia produced never before seen Street Camera footage of Jonathan taken minutes after he left Mrs. Dunn in her car waiting for a bus...and the record from his Septa Key card of him getting on the bus...
The time was the exact time the murder was estimated to be taking place...
"The street camera doesn't lie and the electronic record doesn't lie...There is no way Jonathan Jenkins could be physically getting on a bus and murdering Mrs. Dunn at the same time...Routine police work would have discovered this and eliminated him as a suspect.." said Ms. Yvette...
Lt. Tragg was as red as a beet..He squirmed in his seat as everyone looked at him....He had been on Television taking credit for capturing the murderer "in record time.."
"However, Mr. Jackson can't prove where he was...We have him leaving the bar minutes before the murder...It was a short walk from where he had been....He never returned to the bar..We don't know where he went after that...The street camera was conveniently disabled.. We do know that he owns a Glock nine...The same type of gun used to kill Mrs. Dunn...Just think about that..."she said..
ADA Margaret Barnes basically gave her same sumnation...Saying everything the jury heard this week was irrelevant...
"There is your killer right there...Jonathan Jenkins...Find Him Guilty as charged.!!!!.."she said..
The Jury deliberated for one hour...and found Jonathan Jenkins NOT GUILTY of First Degree Murder and NOT GUILTY of possession of an instrument of crime, namely a Glock nine...Which was never recovered.
Jonathan, His brother George, his sister on law, His Sister,Penny and his parents, church members and several activists erupted in cheers. They hugged Ms. Yvette, myself, Bee Bee, Sofia, Khalil and Ms. Jade....
It was an incredible victory....
ADA Barnes hung her head...She thought about the only other attorneys who had bested her in court....

''First Olivia and Beverly, now these folks..."she sighed as she packed her briefcase and exited the court...
"Ughhh tough break huh Peg?" said Lt. Tragg...smiling sheepishly....
"Get out of my face..." she said sternly and walked briskly in the opposite direction of him...Had he of done a minor investigation, she thought...Just a little more police work instead of grandstanding on the news reports...perhaps the right killer would have been on trial...she mused..
Lt. Tragg watched her walk away.... What a sexy woman, he thought.....
Detective Dunn looked like he'd swallowed a canary.....He stared daggers at Arthur Jackson as he hurried out of the courtroom...
.Rockland smiled and blocked Yvette from leaving...
"You did quite well little lady...You and your team put together quite a case...They're going to be some fine lawyers..." he said looking at us..
We were smiling and taking photos with Jonathan and his family and church members...
"They're already fine lawyers..."said Yvette,looking at us proudly...
"Can I buy you a drink? To celebrate your victory?" asked Rockland..
"That's so sweet...but I can't.....I promised Jade, I'd have lunch with her to celebrate her becoming a U.S. Citizen...Rain check?" said Yvette..Who was amazed... A few weeks ago Rockland was angry because she wouldn't kiss him in the lips at her award presentation....Didn't even stay for the end of it...Now he was recovered and trying to play protector again.. MEN! she thought to herself...Confusing creatures she thought!
He watched her walk away....
God...She was a sexy woman , he thought!

Arthur Jackson was never charged with Mrs. Dunn's murder..... He was found shot to death in his home just a few weeks later..
To date his murder remains unsolved....but we all have our own theory as to who is responsible...

"CONGRATULATIONS ! On your citizenship and on being a great co-worker, neighbor and friend..."I said..

He got back in his car and drove off.
and at Gary's house later on that night..
