Bye Harry

In a penthouse in the middle of the city.....Crime Kingpin Harry Ace and his assistant Albert "Shadow Barnes held court....

"Look down there Shadow man, Look...A whole city and we own pieces of it...We started out selling crack on the corner...Look at us now..We run this town...Aint a piece of sin I don't own....And I aim to keep it that way..." said Harry Ace...

''You trust Punk ass Nicky to off that babe?"asked Shadow..

"No...He's whipped....When he comes to get the ride..I want you to hide in it...Make sure he snatches old girl and does the deed...Then after the deed is done...Take him out! I hate to do it...but anybody that has lied to me for five years to my face is not to be trusted..." said Harry Ace...

"I know what you mean...man...I'm on it!" said Shadow....

But just as he was about to leave...I appeared at the door..

"Heyyyyyyyyyyy Shadow my man...Goin somewhere? we were just coming in." I said as we pushed past him....

''Heyyyyyyy Shadow...Long time no see." said Monica...

Shadow looked down the hall.....

The Hallway was flooded with cops....all armed with rifles and dressed in Kevlar and trauma plates...Coming from all directions...

Shadow was stunned as we walked past him...

"Harry, don't get up on our account, but do get up..."I said..

''Well Look at this...He talks"said Harry to me..

Monica walked in and tossed the handcuffs on the table..

"Hiii Harrrrrrrrry!" she said in her sexy voice..."Put on the cuffs baby!" she said..

''Damn girl...Why you gotta look so damn sexy when you come to see me..?? And with handcuffs too...Do you know the thoughts I have in my mind...??" he joked..

Monica pulled him up and handcuffed him...

''Actually I do.....Not gonna happen!" said Monica.  He had no idea she was telling the truth...He just smirked...

I patted him down....

''Are you serious? What's the charge? What's the charge?" he bellowed.

"It's Murder baby..First Degree!  Officers, read him his rights , take him downtown.." said Monica..

"You gotta be kiddin me...I don't believe this....I'm being arrested.." he said...

As we walked out...I stared daggers at Albert "Shadow" Barnes...We didn't have a charge on him...

"Catch you later Shadow!" I said..

He gave me a baleful stare....

Monica and I both looked at him and cracked up laughing..

II-

Sarah Connors sat alone in the fishbowl....

She had been with us all night.....She was tired, weary...She refused to talk , refused to tie Harry Ace to the murder of Sonny Stein...

Kylie gave her tumblers of coffee and bought dinner for her as well as Breakfast....She allowed her to wash up and freshen up and brush her teeth....

She didn't talk to her about her case at all...They talked about growing up in Philly, dating different guys..what have you....

Sarah felt relaxed around Kylie...

she looked downright stunned when she saw Monica and Me with Harry Ace in handcuffs..

It was then that Lt. Cotton walked in...

"Hi Harry, you don't know how long I've waited for this day..." said Lt. Cotton...

''Yeah? Don't get used to it...." he snarled...

"Sarah, You know who this is?...Harry Ace...the man who ordered you murdered.....He ordered you murdered because he's afraid of you...He knows you are the one person who can place him at the scene of the murder of Sonny Stein...He knows that you and you alone can end his career...He has girls on the street,selling themselves...He had guys who break people's legs and fingers if they don't pay up what they owe...He has guys who threaten to trash independent businesses if they don't pay up...He has Floating Crap games and distribution of Heroin, Coke and Opiods....He has made millions off of human suffering and weakness...Now we can put him away for ever...We just need you...You don't have to be afraid of him anymore..You can do what no one else can do..It's all on you Sarah." said Lieutenant Cotton..

"Hi Sarah....You look well..Healthy!" said Harry...

"SHUT UP!" I said..

He looked at Monica...

"You know Monica...I'm startin not to like your husband.." he said.

She smiled at him...

"I thought I told you to shut up!" I said..

He glared at me angrily!

Sarah looked at him for a long while...but didn't say a word...

"Nate take Ms. Connors out of here.."said Lt. Cotton...

"Come on Sarah..." I said...

''Can I go now? I got Christmas shoppin to do.."said Harry Ace..

"No, Sit down Harry...This is just beginning..." said Lt. Cotton as Monica watched..

Meanwhile, I escorted Sarah down the hall with another uniformed officer I didn't recognize...

The Uniformed Officer hit me in the head with a sap, knocking me to the floor...He grabbed Sarah by the arm and pulled his gun..

''Come on Baby..I got a car outside.." he said..

IT WAS NICKY HILL.....

He took her up to the roof... He had a flying car...

"I told you I'd take care of you boo..I copped this flying car...We won't have to go to the airport...We can fly to another city and escape for awhile...

"Oh Nicky, I was so afraid, so scared...." said Sarah...

"I told you I'd handle everything...Harry and Shadow...They know about you, They Know I was protecting you...I gotta jet too...We in this together baby." He said as they took off and flew off into the wild blue yonder...

"We home free now baby!" said Nicky....

Just then, he felt cold steel on his neck....A Gun...

"Not yet brother!!!  The Boss thought you might be weak...Thought you wouldn't go through with it...That's why he told me to follow you....."said Shadow...!!!






III-

"Honey Bunny are you alright? I should have come with you.." said Monica..

"I'll live.." I said..

Monique put a cold towel on my head.....

"He'll be okay sis!" she said...She had discovered me unconscious in the back hall....

Lieutenant Cotton came running with the handcuffed Harry Ace...who was laughing..

''What happened detective?? Sippin a little Egg Nog a little early? " he laughed..

I laughed too, then I slugged him hard in his stomach!

"Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" he moaned and fell to the ground...

"Anymore Jokes Harry?" I asked...

He was quiet...

''We gotta get to the roof..He stole a flying car.."I said.

''Go Get em!" said Lt. Cotton, who pulled Harry Ace off the floor..

"Get Up... You and I have some more talking to do.." he snarled as he dragged Harry back down the hall.

Monica and I took to the sky at Hyper speed..

"Don't worry Babes...We'll get em..."I said.

Monica cocked her glock..

"I might shoot Nicky for hurtin my sugar bae.." she said...

I smiled...I had called her that first...Now she was calling me that...

We were high above the city searching for another flying car...

"Over there...Under the Bridge...Bring it down....Bring it down...Do it NOW!" snarled Shadow..

He cocked his gun....

Nicky was no fool...He landed the Flying car as he was told.. He was crying and shaking with fear...he knew the reputation of Shadow..He had killed many times before himself..but only when it was necessary, a contract..Shadow killed whenever...He enjoyed it....

"I'm sorry baby...I'm so sorry baby.." he said to Sarah...

''At least we die together Nicky....I'll love you for eternity.." she said...

''How sweet...Nicky...You know what to do..Kill her or I'll kill you both...Kill her and you'll spare your life..Do it baby...Do it nowwwwwwwwwwwwww!" said Shadow..

Nicky pulled out his gun and aimed it at Sarah....

"I'm sorry baby.." he said..

"NICKYYYYY!" screamed Sarah in disbelief...

He whispered to her...

"Trust me...Trust me baby!" he said softly...He cocked his gun...

"Come On...Get On with it..Do It Nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" said Shadow...

Nicky turned and fired two times at Shadow...One shot hit him in the Abdomen...the other in his chest right above his heart...

"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! YOU SON OF A SEA CAPTAIN....I DON'T believe it...I don't believe it...I'VE been SHOT!!" he screamed and fired one shot at Nicky, which hit Nicky in his abdomen.....Shadow then collapsed....He was bleeding profusely....

"AWWWW LAWD JESUS DON'T LET ME DIE...DON'T LET ME DIE, DON'T LET ME DIE...OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'M COLD..I'M SCARED!...LAWDDD HELP ME...OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I DON'T believe it...I don't believe it...I'VE been SHOT!!"Shadow moaned and then he rolled over...

Shadow was silent!

"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!   ..I DON'T Believe it...I don't believe it...I'VE been SHOT!!" Nicky screamed as he fell to the ground....blood pouring from him....He too rolled over and stared at the sky...He breathed in and out once more....Then he went still!

Monica and I landed and got out of our Flying Car with Glocks drawn....

 But we wouldn't need them...She felt Albert "Shadow" Barnes for a pulse... She looked at me...

"He's Dead Partner!" she said..

His lifeless eyes stared at the sky....blood still just pouring out of him....

I walked over to Nicky Hill...I felt  for his pulse...I shook my head..

"He's Dead too!"  I said..

Like Shadow , his lifeless eyes stared blankly at the sky.......

"OHHHHHHHH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD!" screamed Sarah....she was crying profusely...

Monica hugged her and rocked her from side to side....

She looked at Sarah....

"Sarah you're pregnant!!!" she said..

She could hear the thoughts of her unborn fetus....

"I am....I hadn't told Nicky yet...I was gonna tell him a few days ago...I'm not even showing...How did you know that?" she sobbed..

"I'm very sensitive..." said Monica..

Nice save ,I thought...

"You ready to co-operate now Sarah?" I asked..

"Yes...I'll tell you everything..." she said quietly...

IV-

A Defiant Harry Ace sat in the Fishbowl drinking the last of his coffee...

He looked up and saw Monica and Sarah and I walking back...NOT WHAT HE EXPECTED!!!

 ''Well Harry, this is a bad week for you...You've lost Joey Tee, Shadow Barnes and Nicky Hill"said Monica.

 A tearful Sarah Glared at him...

I tossed some handcuffs on the table in front of him...

"Put em on Harry....Turn the lights out Lieutenant...The Party's over..."I said.

"What does that mean?" he asked..

"It means you now have the right to remain silent...Anything you say from this moment on can and will be used against you...You have the right to an Attorney, If you don't have one..one will be appointed to you...Do you understand these rights as I'm reading them to you? sure you do..Stand Up..Harry Ace, you are under arrest for the murder of Sonny Stein!It means..Bye Harry!" said Monica...

"This has been a long time coming Harry...but we finally got you!" said Lt. Cotton...

"I don't believe this...I'm gettin arrested," he moaned...

"They never believe it when they get shot or arrested." said Kylie as the officers walked Harry out..

"Bye Harry! "said Kylie as the officers walked him out...

It was a few days before Christmas..

Monica and I were under the Misteltoe Kissing passionately...

We had wrapped this case up just in the nick of time!

EPILOUGE-

Sarah Connor Testified long and hard....

Harry Ace was convicted and sentenced to Life, No Parole for the Murder of Sonny Stein.....

Every Gangster in the city who loved Sonny Stein put a contract out on him...he was scared to death!

Harry Ace was transferred to an un named Prison in California to serve out his life sentence...and to be protected from reprisals...

There is still an open contract out on him in Pennsylvania!

Monica had gotten the slam dunk she talked about!

Sarah Connor terminated her pregnancy and moved to Spain, where she lives quietly...

Christmas Eve found us all over our duplex celebrating...

Kylie White and Wally Becker,

Lieutenant Cotton was with

Monique of course...

and Me and Monica..

There were lots of presents under the tree

and plenty of food and egg nog

for everybody....

and Miseltoe....Plenty of it..

For All Three of us couples ,who were celebrating the holiday spirit!!!
