The Telltale Kiss

Yvette Jones appeared in the courthouse with Ms. Jane Lydecker, our client, bright and early in the morning.. They talked quietly as the four of us arrived with tumblers of hot coffee..

"Hola  Ms. Yvette.. We brought you coffee.. just the way you like it.." said Sofia..

"Three Creams, Four sugars.." said Kahlil..

''Awww thank you babies." said Ms. Yvette, Gushing..

"We brought you coffee too Ms. Lyedecker.."I said and passed her a tumbler..

"Oh Thank you...You guys are the best." she said..

"And we are going to do our best to get you off.."said Bee Bee....

"Standing not too far from us and hearing the entire exchange was ADA Ron Harper who muttered to himself..

"Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm Ummmmph...Yvette is yummy....I sure wish she'd get me off.." he mused...

He wondered why she hadn't called him or said anything about the flowers he had sent her...They cost a mint...

Lt. Tragg walked up..

"Counselor...I trust we are ready to proceed.." he said.

This momentarily broke his concentration on Yvette's legs and her sexy outfit...

"Uh yeah, yeah..I'll be in shortly.." he said.

 "We'd better get inside and get seated "said Bee Bee.

 Kahlil grabbed his briefcase and followed her..

 So did Sofia

and myself...

ADA Harper grabbed Yvette's arm just as she was about to join us...

"Uh Ms. Jones...Did you get my flowers?" he asked, smiling sheepishly...

"I diddddddddddddd, they were beautiful..Thank Youuuuuuuuuuu!"said Yvette..

"Well ahhhh what about the uh note that I uh wrote...?" he asked...

Just then ,Ms. Jade walked up.." Sorry to interrupt you Boss lady, but you need to see these files.." she said.

Yvette looked relieved..

"Oh thank you so much Jade.." she whispered...as she leafed through the files and walked away...

"No problem...You can return the favor if a certain annoying ICE agent who shall not be named starts sniffing around me again.." said Jade with a smile..

"Oh no doubt girlfriend.." laughed Ms. Yvette.

ADA Harper angrily stomped his foot.

II-

The trial began....

ADA Harper began his long, wordy opening statement...about how our client was so angry about her botched hair appointment that she angrily bashed in Ms. Roger's head.....

Yvette and Bee Bee countered his argument saying that our client was innocent...Was at least two blocks away and would not be so stupid as to bash her head in and then keep the murder weapon, let alone deposit it in the trash can outside of her house where it could be easily found.. and a week after the murder at that!

Lt. Tragg squirmed in his seat a little.. Several of the press looked at him and began to snicker...

For the next two days.. Ron Harper paraded CSI and Forensic specialists and people from the Medical Examiner's office who all said that the blood and brain matter on the pipe belonged to the victim..

The jury saw lurid photos of the beautiful Ms. Rogers when alive and after death ,with her head split open nearly...

 I asked them all if my client, Ms. Lyedecker's  fingerprints or DNA was found on the bloody pipe.

They all were forced to say no...

ADA Harper countered that she had wiped her prints and DNA off of the pipe...

Kahlil then asked..".If she could have done that, then why not wipe the blood and brain matter of the victim off also?"

It was a great question that got the jury thinking...

Lt. Tragg testified that several witnesses heard the two women arguing that day and a week before in which she threatened to take legal action if she was not re-imbursed…"

Yvette argued that legal action and murder were two very different things...

Bee Bee asked him how he knew the pipe would be in the trash....

He had to admit he got an anonymous tip...

Yvette brought up several other times he got anonymous tips and they led to the wrong suspect,,

ADA Harper screamed relevance and demanded that this exchange be stricken from the record..

My Father didn't want to, but he was forced to rule in his favor..

After four days of contentious arguing...ADA Harper asked for a continuance...

My dad ,who found the whole thing amusing.. granted him a 48 hour continuance..

He looked at Lt. Tragg...

"Go over that crime scene again, re-interview those witnesses...Get Gary Lockwood to help you, He's one of our best investigators..used to be a cop like you.."said ADA Harper..

"I know who he is...and I don't need any help...This case is solid...but I'll go over it..." snarled Lt. Tragg...

He looked around for Yvette..

Yvette was on her phone with someone....then I came over to her,

I passed her some papers...

 Sofia whispered in her ear...

 So did Bee Bee

 Kahlil

and Jade spoke to her briefly...

She finished her phone call...We all left together....

ADA Harper missed his chance to talk to her.

III-

ADA Harper stopped by the Flower Shop...

Pete, a tall skinny white guy approaching 60 smiled..

"Heyyy Harp, I know your lady friend loved those flowers..." he said.

"You sure she got em?" asked ADA Harper..

"I know she got em...I gave em to her lawyer friend...The Arab guy...Plus I saw her with them when she left work..." said Pete..

"Say look Pete.. We've got two days off...I need you to do me a favor..."said Ron Harper.

"What's that buddy?" he asked..

"Tail her...Tell me where she goes and who she meets with." asked ADA Harper..

Pete the florist had the flower shop, but he was also an ex-cop...Detective...He moonlighted as a Private Investigator now of days.

"Sure Harp." he said.

In a Tony Bar a few blocks from court...Yvette  was having drinks with ADA Miles Ellis..

''So you have a girlfriend now...She's nice...I faced her in court last month.." said Yvette.

"Yeah she is nice.. We haven't been together long...but we are moving along nice.." said Miles.

"So.....You love her?" asked Yvette, smiling..

"Dang Yvette...we just really started going together....She just left a relationship herself...I don't think either of us is in love yet...but we'll be there eventually...We are taking it slow, seeing where things go for now.."said Miles.  "I know you're in love aren't you?" he asked.

"Yes, but I wasn't at first...He had to really work to get me there." said Yvette..

"I take it he said "I love you" first huh?" laughed Miles, knowing the answer...

''He did.. Many times before I gave in..."laughed Yvette as they sipped their drinks..

"Yeah I figured as much.." laughed Miles..

"Well it's nice that you've found someone and that it seems to be going nice.." said Yvette..

''Seriously Yvette...I think you and I might have hit it off well under different circumstances...but someone got to you first." said Miles.

"In another time Miles." said Yvette as they finished their drinks..

"Yeah, you're right Vettie." said Miles... "Be Easy....I gotta bounce." he said.. He hugged her and kissed her softly on the lips..

Yvette was surprised...Fresh ass, I bet he'd been wanting to do that for awhile...she mused and then laughed.

Yvette looked at her watch....

"Yeah me too...Thanks for the drinks." she said.

Neither of them realized they were being photographed...




They left....Both getting in their cars and going in separate directions....

Miles went back to the courthouse where Alexandria Miller was just coming out..

She smiled upon seeing him...

"Hey baby!" she said..

"Hey Boo." he said..

They kissed passionately......

Early in the morning...Miles was seen leaving her loft...…..

This was presented to ADA Ron Harper the next day...

"Soooooooooooooooooo Miles Ellis ,Pretty Boy Floyd is her boyfriend eh? I'm not surprised...She worked with him for awhile in the private sector and repped him in court a while ago..."said Ron Harper..

"Yeah and he's two timing her with this woman..

"She's an Attorney...Her name is Alexandria Miller..."said Pete.

"He's got good tastes....She is a Honey....."said ADA Ron Harper..

"That's where she lives...Look , this photo is time stamped...That's your boy leaving at 5:00 am in the morning..."said Pete..

''Dirty Dog...Good Work Pete...I think Yvette should know about this....Know what I mean?" laughed ADA Ron Harper.

"Got'cha….It'll be in an envelope in her mailbox.." laughed Pete..

IV-

Ms. Yvette was at home....She answered her doorbell...She found an envelope with her name on it on her steps...

She looked around...There was nobody in sight......She was wearing a Gray Victoria's Secret Night Shirt that came to her hips...

She didn't notice ADA Ron Harper's car sitting across the street from her with tinted windows...

He was beside himself ,staring at her shapely legs and hips and incredibly sexy body...

"LAWD!" he proclaimed, just staring...

He had no idea , D.A.'s investigator, Gary Lockwood was inside with Yvette...

''What's that?" he asked..

''A dossier somebody placed on my doorstep..." said Yvette , who opened it..

There were photos of Miles Ellis, Kissing Alexandria Miller in front of the courthouse....Miles with her at a Steakhouse and a photo, a time stamped photo of him leaving her loft at 5:00 in the morning.

"Hmmmmm this must have been delivered to the wrong house....What do I care if he's with Alexandria...?" asked Yvette..

"Yeah...what do you care?" asked Gary...

Yvette tossed the photos in the trash....

"I don't...All I care about is you and whoa....Myyyyy goodness Gary..."she exclaimed....

"I can't help it baby..."laughed Gary...

"Mmmmmmm, I know you can't.." said Yvette softly, kissing him passionately......


Neither of them said a word.. Everything was understood..

He pulled her to him and kissed her passionately...

"I love you so much.." he said..

"I love you too...You don't even understand how much....ummmmmmmmmmmmmm.." she moaned...

Soon they were in bed making sweet love...

Bed squeaking...headboard rattling...and Yvette getting emotional again and crying......

Sweat running down Gary's back as he slowly lost his mind...

"Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu....Ohhhh Gary, Oh My goodness..." she cooed softly..

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Yvette...Yvette...Oh My god!" he moaned...

"Ummmm Gary...lawddddd!" she sighed..

"Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Yvette...Yvette...Oh My god!" was all he could say..

"You like it daddy?" she said..

"Ummmmmm hummmmmmm!" he said..

"Ouuuuuuuuu I like it too...ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.." she cooed softly into his ear!

 SIX TO SEVEN HOURS DRIFTED BY....

Yvette and Gary showed no signs of stopping anytime soon...

"Oh My god Yvette, what are you doing to me?" asked Gary, who couldn't believe how good he was feeling..

"Making you fall in love with me.." she answered innocently..

"I was already in love with you..." he moaned..

"Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.." she cooed..

Gary came so hard, he was speechless...

Yvette began to tremble and sweat profusely herself and hold on to Gary for dear life...

"Ouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.." she moaned..

Gary got up, went to the refrigerator and got a bottle of water...put it on his forehead and then opened it and drank some..

Yvette got up, put her night shirt on and followed him...She too got a bottle of water and drank some.. She sat on his lap..

She leaned her head into his chest and snuggled up under him...

Kissing him softly....

ADA Harper was surprised he didn't hear any screaming or crying or that Yvette hadn't put on her clothes and left....

"Poor Girl is probably heartbroken." he mused..."I'll be there to pick up the pieces.."he said with a confident smile..

He pulled off....

Yvette ,meanwhile was continuing to stare lovingly into Gary's eyes..

He was staring lovingly into hers..

And kissing her passionately...

 So the next day in the office...More Flowers arrived for Ms. Yvette...

 "Ms. Yvette...These arrived this morning...for you.."laughed Bee Bee.

 "They're from Ronnie Baby..."joked Sofia.

 "There's a note.." said Kahlil

 "I put em in a vase for you.." I said, trying to hide my smile..

"Oh stop it , all of you...Just wait...I'll get something on you guys and I'm going to tease you mercilessly..."said Yvette..

''What does the note say?" asked Bee Bee.

"It says....I'll erase away your pain...Ronnie."read Ms. Yvette..

"Ouuuuuuuu." cooed Sofia..

"What Pain? He is out of his mind!" scoffed Ms. Yvette, shaking her head.
